Hachiman question

flash is a cruel mistress

really so if i can get 200 acc then i have a 100% hit rate.. this may be interesting...

if i list my gear can you tell me the exact % hit rate that i am going to parse?

Doesn't work like that, your acc is compared with mob's eva and level difference, but yes, your question is possible.

Necro what lvl is your prd now?

Jeska, Langly and I should be online more now so let me know when you want us to get you some Rutters. I need to snag a pair for myself as well sooner or later. Langly and you could easily duo it. I'll just bring the TH4 and freeload. ;) I'll send you a tell in game when I'm on next and we can figure something out!

Thanks Faule, I'll be around most of the weekend if you'd like to try sometime soon just track me down. :)

Thanks also to all the good advice everyone is adding here, I'm enjoying the read and my Sam job.

Ok then when i have more time i have a challenge for you... me and truegrave both have askar bodies and he also has a haub +1. So... the challenge is that we will parse the first part of the party and i will be wearing the haub and he will be wearing the askar. Then for the second part of the party we switch. Now i am not trying to argue that the haub is not better because it probably is but that is besides the point. We are here to test the -8% hit rate that you claimed will occur.

Also beyond that i have a challenge to get you involved i will list all of my sam gear TP and WS and also all of true's gear TP and WS and you will need to be able to tell us based on gear alone and what we were fighting what % acc we parsed at in askar and in haub since you believe that these figures are so definite (note these figures must be exactly 8% apart).

But i am leaving for cali in ~ 4 hrs so i wont be able to continue this discussion until monday.

Depending on what you fight it may be hard to determine what your own exact accuracy would be, but determining the difference in yours and Truegraves accuracy should not be too hard. It should be within 1-2% of what your actual accuracy is if the sample size is large enough.

You're TPing in STR rings, the level 50 JSE legs, and suzaku's legs? Do you not have a Raja's ring?

no, I don't. Some day possibly.

Cool, you're already prepping your excuses.

He's already preparing for what he can say if he's proven wrong. It wasn't like it was implied or anything.
Seems like he's alluding to flash and varying mob difficulty at certain camps, whereas some (like colibris) are pretty homogeneous.

Which is fine, except for you and him making a blanket statement of fact without any qualifications on setup/camp. You said that Hauby has an 8% higher hit rate than askar body, but now that someone's going to test it, you're backing away from that and going with "well, maybe it won't be exactly 8%, but it's higher." You're backing away from your statement of fact, and you're preemptively readying your excuses as to why you'd be wrong. It's a backtrack, plain and simple.

No one's doubting that Hauby would hit more often than Askar body, the only question is how much.

Im not good with the exact figures so answer me this if possible. Might help you decide on which is better.

And i say this cus i havent seen anyone point it out yet.

How much is X attack going to boost your damage?

swing 200 times and if the higher attack damage boost stacked over that many hits is higher then the extra 3 hits (in this case hauby vs shura body) then you have your answer.

Oh and for my opinion, id sacrifice 3 hits worth of damage over that corse of time for losing the -20 eva/-5 agi. You cant do shit as a DD if you cant survive. So yes, i really have to say shura > hauby regaurdless of the results.

This is of corse assuming dont keep capped accuracy w/o the hauby, cus thats very possible.

In the case of of hauby vs. shura, the 6 attack will translate to about +0.2 cratio, which should be anywhere from +2-3% dps. The STR from hauby, on the other hand, will add +1.25 to fstr, which will result in a very similar, albeit slightly less dps increase for most SAMs, if I'm not mistaken (probably in the realm of ~2%). This is before you even factor in the acc from hauby. There really are no benefits from the attack on shura, although the -eva can be seen as a legitimate argument if it is causing you to take so much damage as to be a sufficiently larger burden upon the healer, but I doubt this is a concern in a decent merit party.

Obviously modifications to acc that aren't uniform (rate of aggressor use, various blinds, flash included, lasting various lengths, etc.) will skew the acc difference in either direction, not like it was implied or anything though.

Assuming everything stays constant, it's pretty easy to pinpoint an acc% with some confidence, provided the sample size is high enough, but it's obviously going to differ a little bit in practice.

True, but regaurdless, it IS a benefit. And just like any other minuet, small increase, we only get it because we want to be the best. Its just like comparing most +1 items. So, its a good enough reason to justify making it some kind of a need IMO.
