Forgot all about this!?! Need to pick it up, I know I won't play it when FFXIV comes out though...
Story gripe. That's all I care about in Halo.
Spoiler:Terrible way for Bungie to make their exit... They build up this huge world and instead of ending it we get "oh, yeah, Cortana is important guys" which, we already fuckin' knew and "Reach falls" which we already knew. Piece of shit storyline and I guess it's more my fault for expecting more from them, given consideration to who they tailor their games to.
I hate to say it, but I preferred ODST.
I'll probably end up buyin' the game for SWAT now that the BR isn't the starting main. That's the best decision they've made in the entire series, to have a weapon with bloom being the starting weapon of SWAT.
i was under the assumption everyone already knew how this game would end?
i mean you already know all the details from the previous games and books, the story was exactly as i expected and did not fail to delight. I dont see why they should throw something major in that would just be contradicting to the story in order to make it a better game experience for the lower percentage that didnt know what to expect.
I loved it, i got to see how it all went down instead of imagining it!

:O
I keep hearing about it in my classes about how awesome this game is. Slowly, I'm feeling like I should get a 360 hmm
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was bad. I just think it was the worst possible way to end a series is with a prequel, especially one where so much is already known. I figured Bungie knew this too and I was looking for a surprise that never came.
Wooo weee though, no shitty BR main in SWAT so scrubs can play and my pistole~ is back. I'm okay.
But yes, multi-player is back! i loved halo CE, its what i played until i could afford an xbox, and i loved halo 1 and 2, but felt bored and stale in halo 3, reach takes us back to what was good about the games without making it feel old and out dated.
yeah i admit i was awaiting some sort of big surprise myself, something unexpected. I mean we know chief is on a mission at the time of reach, yet he is never mentioned really and i thought he would at least make an appearance. But once i saw the pillar of autumn and realized i was already nearing the end, i kinda of knew he wouldnt be there since he doesnt board the autumn until halo 1.
The other things that bother me is, supposedly this Noble team, more specifically noble 6 are the reason that the victories in the next three installments that happened, but...in those games its like they never even existed and you never hear about them.
Its like star wars all over again, if these people were so big and important, why does it take a prequel for them to even exist in the story world?
i did love the story, and i did feel that bit of sadness for the anti climatic ending.

Wasn't Master Chief in cryostasis onboard the Pillar of Autumn? I'm fairly certain the very end of Reach is the very beginning of Halo 1.
As far as Noble team not being mentioned:
Unsung Heros. The team made the impact required for success in the next three installments.
Think of it like this. Say there is a nuclear bomb somewhere in the country that would kill millions of people. A team of Navy SEALS disables the bomb, but die in the process, and all the media says is "Bomb successfully disabled" without mention of who did it.
We would feel the effects of the bomb being disarmed (I.E. Not dead) but would we be able to acknowledge the ones that did it if we didn't KNOW they did it?
That doesn't work. There were people with knowledge of Noble Team that made it out of Reach alive, as is obvious by the humans having any military force at all at that point, and the fact that a certain A.I. reached a certain destination. There should have been fuckin' statues and prayers to this team but Bungie pulled a fast one on base lore (within the games at least) with what happened at Reach.
But the ones that survived were on the Pillar of Autumn, which subsequently crashes and leaves few survivors. Even with the people that did know, especially being military, mass praise isn't likely due to the fact that they would be viewed as "doing their duty".
EDIT: Most of the survivors with knowledge of Noble company were on the PoA. There were those civilian transports and such, but that really can't count towards the awareness of Noble.
So uh, what happened to Jun again?
