First of all, in my opinion if you DONT PUT Pet type animals on the same level as people you don't deserve to have one and you dont deserve to comment about how this video is remotely allowable in any part of the world.

Second of all, who cares if PETA only gives 15% of donations to stopping animal cruelty.. what are YOU doing to help the situation? There is not a single large charity in the world that gives even more then 50% of donations to the cause they are supporting because in every company there is a little thing called OVERHEAD; the costs and expenses of running the business and transporting good or advertising the companies motives.

PETA is so bad because it is the legal side that funds the Animal Liberation Front (Sister group of Earth Liberation Front) and pays for their members bail. The ALF is a terriost group that firebombs labs where animals are used for medical testing and anyone else they feel like. They have also been charged with trapping envolopes with things like razors blades sent to hunting companies among other acts to hurt and kill any human that works for an industry that kills animals.

I have found comments from the government of China that indicates they have also investigated it. Their information mirrored my concerns. The video made it obvious that the person was having more trouble and it was taking more time to skin a live animal than it would have to ensure it was dead and skin a dead animal. This indicated to myself and the authorities involved that the video may have been staged in an attempt to show procedures which do not normally exist in the industry. The people shown on the video were not regular workers, according to the report I read on the investigation, but appeared to be some type of day laborer or other hired temporary worker.

Given the history of "edited for cruelty" videos and videos staged to show cruelty for the AR audience, this seems to be the most logical explanation of the situation.

As for what I would do in the case of these practices, I would hire the same local people to practice dentistry on their former employers, which would be not only justice but ironic as well.

It was produced by a Swedish Animal Rights group that won't even release the location in China where this was done. Why? Because it was staged and authorities would discover the video is a fraud. However, that really doesn't matter. People who know Peta (did you read my links?) realize how much PETA lies and that proving one video to be fake is a tiny thing compared to the big wrongs they do such as funding the Animal Liberation Front aka terrorists.

Im pretty sure PETA would not risk being completely discredited and shutdown by paying for such actions... and if they did Im sure they would of been caught by now.

So what makes 'pet' type animals any more special than non pets? Is it because they are cute and cuddly? Further, you try to put them on the same level as humans, which is rediculous. Given a choice between saving one human or two humans, most would save the two humans. However, if animals = humans, given the choice between saving one human and two cats, your logic says to save the cats. You might see it as cruel, but civilization can not function if you try to put all animals on equal level with humans. For someone who 'doesn't care or support PETA' you sure have their slogans down perfectly.

This raises the eyebrows of fur farmers who review the tape, not only as to the non-standard method of kill, but also because animals prized for their pelts are always laid out carefully and separately. If they are laid together, let alone all tossed into one bucket, the body heat will cause "singe". The fur will hold a shape in the same way as human hair treated with a dryer and brush, and the tips will curl up as if singed by a fire.

What these activists typically fail to provide, however, is key information such as what happened where and when, and who exactly was involved. FCUSA asked three major television networks in the US to explain their policies on using footage of animal suffering from outside sources. Did they require that sources provide uncut footage with unedited sound, or did they accept edited clips? If the footage showed people committing an illegal act, did they require that the people be identified, if only for their own records? And did they require that the source provide the time and location of the film?

Not one network provided an adequate response. In fact, they were downright unhelpful.
