Topic 3: we fucked him over? Never did I, or any of the other leaders tell him to sell his equipment. We never said he would get in or even a trial. He expressed interest, and we said we would talk to our members and see what they thought.

not to start any trouble, but i was told by both bogotti and agris that i was being allowed to go through some sort of 'try out' on saturday this weekend. this was said to me specifically, in-game

just setting the facts straight. no, none of you told me to sell my gear, that was done on my own under the impression that i was going to at least be given a chance.

personally id leave 6 off as well as a "oh its up lets go kill it were bored" kinda thing. cassies not really worth the trouble to kill for the gain involved (meaning spending time trying to learn the pop for it in comparison to the others on the list).

Ok that list of 12 is being pretty damn generous. Yes, those are all HNM that have some damn nice drops, but try looking at this list from a different prospective:

Group A
1) Behemoth/King Behemoth
2) Simurgh
3) Capricious Cassie
4) Lord of Onzozo
5) Bune
6) Serket

Group B
1) Citipati/Xotol
2) Adamantoise/Aspido
3) King Arthro
5) Fafnir/Nihdogg

Group A are HNM that NA players camp and win about 50% or more of the time. Group B are HNM that are dominated by Japanese HNM shells and getting people in a LS to camp them is like pulling teeth, so the Japanese continue to dominate. So in reality there are only 6 HNM that NA HNM LSs camp, so the odds of counter camping are damn high. Kind of off topic, but it is something to think about.

Also in the question Ascension vs Drgash, which is the best LS, the sad reality is they both pale in comparsion to some of the JP HNM LS on our server. I mean, it would be a major accomplishment when any NA LS does something that JP shells have been doing everyday for the past year+.

Nasya, I am curious what your response is to one of your LS members posting here under a different name and "acting like a child" in an attack on someone else. You did not bring it up in your essay response, so I am curious what you think of this. As you have said before, you dont like anyone from the shell making inflamatory posts because it makes "your" LS looks bad. And honestly, that made you look pretty bad.

Yet the only name on the list of 12 I havent seen before is Citipati/Xotol (which if i am thinking correctly is the lich in attowah? Too lazy to look it up.)

Are the new HNM bcnms? Or are the 3 dragons generally ignored? And theres only 1 single new HNM out of promathia people camp ?

i think shia mentioned some jp ls'es killing tiamat, i forgot. very, very fun to fight, but very deadly. that one time we all made a temporary hnmls for aurorine's goodbye present, everyone must have died 5+ times and his hp only moved a sliver.

Nark is the first person i ever saw with an adaman hauburk. Thats when i first decided he was ultimate badass.... then i faced him in ballista a few times, and he is. Nark is the ultimate. He is uber. He will eat your face. i have never even talked to Nark. I have only been on his ballista team twice. Not only does he have adaman set (minus legs) he ALSO has full koening.... I aspire to be nark....

i wonder what the JP think of Nark >_>

They say reason why Luficar leveled his blm till 75 was to be able to lot on that boots... lol so I guess many people are after those boots aswell. Yes server wide these dragons has been killed. But the loots were so poorly implemented for the time and raid force needed to defeat them, they are ignored. On the contrary, some mobs such as king behemoth who existed from nearly the very begining of the game is still hunted. Since they drop items tradable and profitable which not many other HNMs have.

Bit sad really... new HNMs or lets say big bosses usually drops something Better... FFXI seems the other way around rofl...

I guess I've never been one to care about what the other linkshells were doing. All I've ever cared about is the success of the linkshell I was in. I spent months on end doing what I thought would be good for our linkshell. I guess I assumed that's what the other major NA HNM LS'es did, although I've kinda lately felt like that wasn't true. When someone from another shell admitted that they searched for us and followed us around I thought it would be kinda fun to post it here and see what people had to say. Unfortunately I just ran into people like Svina who'd post a response that was refuted several posts before, thus destroying my hopes for an intelligent debate.

As for Jonas' post, this was enough to entice me back into posting again. For starters, I hardly know Jonas, I've talked to him maybe once ever. Back in the early days of Ascension (that's the spelling btw) I was friends with a few people in drgash. They would tell me that Jonas and Jsoft would talk crazy shit about me, Nasya and Ascension constantly. When I asked them why, they didn't know. After CoP came out I had my only alliance with Jonas ever, we were both helping some mutual friends complete Promyvion Mea. 1-2 times he ran in and aggroed a bunch of stuff, and I made a comment about it. One of our mutual friends informed me that he knew better, but because of me he didn't want to be there and he was hoping to die and hp so he could leave. I can't verify for sure that this stuff is true, it's just what old friends have told me. In conclusion, yes Jonas, I would like to hear your stories, please tell.

i still don't see what's so unethical about using /sea. it's comparable to say if you're in the stock market. all of a sudden you see a large holder of a certain stock start to sell their stock, you do too. they may have done research and spent the time, yet you just follow. it's common sense.
fact: /sea is there, it is a tool. smart people should use tools at their disposal to their advantage. you should instead think of it an honor that they believe you're such great campers of HNM that they are following you. i can count on 1 hand how many people do "/sea yanzi all" and flock to my zone.

True, any JP HNM shell has been doing those NM's for the past year, but seeing as how they had a 1 year head start, I don't see the difference in us accomplishing it for the first time as an all NA shell. I don't know if SE's intention was for global cooperation or laugh as we struggle to complete things that every JP has done, but that's what we did, we struggled to do things on our own. The info on how to kill it may have been out there, but we still accomplished something that no NA shell has done alone.

As for Kisada, well...you and I both know how he and Scypio acts within the shell. If we had to define the "class clown" of our LS's, they would be the 2 to obtain that title. I'm not trying to excuse what he wrote, but it seems like you're trying to focus on his behavior specifically just to make our LS look bad and for what? Because you have a gripe with our shell where it was YOUR decision to leave? You're not exactly applying for sainthood yourself there, Dua.

Hi, I (was) a comp sci major... 3rd year student. I know how bots are coded and how the various macro scripting tools out there work. It's no mystery, and I'm sure you know Dua is an IRL acquaintance.

Anyway. My friend (who is also a friend of Dua's) was visiting over the summer and around that time the rusty cap craze was big. I showed him it, but he didn't play anymore really. I had fooled around with some scripting tools and made a simple fishing macro that did just that... fish while you were AFK.

Prior to that I also had started a multi-server crafting LS... it didn't last very long but we had strict rules about botting or cheating... and being the leader of it I swore by it. Just because one has the means to do something, doesn't mean they do it. So anyway I showed my friend this script and he was pretty impressed with the idea of making money while AFK (which really, it was hardly as efficient as say, mining Ifrit's Cauldron). But let's look at this. I fished when I was being lazy and didn't feel like going very far. The rusty cap craze was the only time I ever touched fishing. I never cared for it otherwise. I tried fishing moat carps for a while but that was god awful income... Ifrit's cauldron was always my gold mine, in addition to gardening iand cooking (I used to have 95 cooking skill before I took on leather). This is where I made my money folks. It's no fuckin mystery to the people I used to be in LS'es with.

Anyway on the topic of the rumor that I botted. My friend apparently tells Dua about it, and he asks for a copy of the script, I pass it along, and I guess somehow this translates into your shell that I fish bot.

So let's see... I sat in Rabao doing what I do 80% of the time my character is logged on the game anytime... nothing. My character was more or less just standing there staring off into space when I fell asleep, but in the meantime, I'd fish. And yeah anyone who fished in rabao along those times was considerred a bot without any furthur question. Including me, I guess... so I would get GM tells all the time asking if I was there. And I'd respond and keep on fishing. I ignored the tells because frankly they got annoying as fuck, and who wants to answer the same old "HI R U BAWT!?" shit over and over again? Ask any legit fisher their thoughts on the matter.

This is how I understand you came to believe I fish botted... but believe me on this much. If I made 1 mil off fishing the whole time that I did in those months, I made 10mil off mining, gardening, and cooking in less time. Botting would not have increased that fishing efficiency at all. Are you enlightened now? K.
