If you dont have AT LEAST 2 hours...

So people who don't have a full two hours (from the time they get into the group, I'm assuming) aren't allowed to level? That's fucking ridiculous. As long as you let people know what your time limitations are when you join the group, then it's their problem, not yours.

EXACTLY.

As long as you let people know what your time limitations are when you join the group,
Don't tell them after you join, tell them before. After you are in the party, it is much harder to kick someone without feeling bad.

This is just my opinion but I feel it's rude to join the party and THEN say you don't have a full 2 hours or more. You should tell the person who sends you the tel that you are on a time limit, and then it is their decision if they want to mess with trying to replace you or not. By the time the party is put together with 6 people, then you decide where to go to fight, then get to camp, yada yada you could only have about an hour left and then you have to leave only to start the whole process over again. That isn't right either.

I would never join a party if I didn't have a minimum of 2 hours to play. It's not only wasting your time but more importantly the other party members.

:lol: Rones ...

"Well, Vang, some of us HAVE LIVES blah blah and we cant play FF all day like you losers blah blah....."

"Sometimes people have emergency issues ya know? Our lives dont revolve around a game"

Thats fine but i find it funny how every pre-50 whm has these at least 4 times a week.

"I have a job"

Yep so do I

"I have school"

Well dont they teach time managment in school?

If you have to eat supper at 6pm why put up your lfg flag at 4pm?

There, i took care of all the garbage excuses that will come up.

Learn time management you idiots, stop wasting my time.

"Sorry but my girlfriend....she really, REALLY needs me right now :wink: . I'm sure you guys understand."

That one I'll allow ^^

Stamp of approval.

Vang soon as you get over Lv60 you will stop posting stuff like this because you will almost always be in a PT that lasts at least 2 hours ^^

1. Buy a little black book;
2. Note people you party with and give them a rating;
3. Refer to black book entries later on to decide if someone is worth your time;
4. STFU about people you are trying to ignore.

I'm already doing that. A PLD that goes AFK 3 times during a fight? Never partying with him again. A party who camps over our mages in Yuhtunga Jungle to chase us from our camp? Will never party with them ever. An insolant prick who starts yelling at everyone in the zone? I don't care if he's good, he's on my naughty list.

I have a standard for myself, that I don't seek a party if I don't have around 3 hours of interrupted game in front of me. If I don't get a PT by then, I just shut down FFXI and do something else of my spare time. However, I do not hold other people up to my own standards. If they only have one hour left, I'm down with that if he tells the party as he joins. But if he leaves right after he levels, you betcha that's a paddling... er... black book entry.

I'm tired of all that whining about people having to either be perfect or quit the game. You're smart. You can choose who you play with. I can swear on my little black book that I do.

Stupid whiny shit.

Enjoy never seeing post-60!

Wow, that was uncalled for prick.

Anyways, if someone doesn't want to level two hours at a time and the party is cool with that, where's the big fucking problem??

Never see level 60?! OH MY!! If you're enjoying the game no matter what the level who really gives a shit?

I never put my flag up if I don't have at least 2 hours of actual leveling time... meaning that if I intend on going leveling the next day, I will try and get to Jeuno (or where I need to be) with my gear and food the night before. That way, when I log, I put my flag up and I am ready, now! Also the reason why I usually don't level on week nights and try to do other stuff, like leveling Alchemy.

Now, I don't mean that it is some kind of rule and that you should not join if you don't have 2 hours, but I agree with Rhones, let people know before joining they're party and let them decide wether or not they are prepared to look for a replacement when you leave.

Basically, I think it's just common sense and courtesy to do so. But please, if they agree to let you in for an hour, don't go afk 45 minutes on it. And if they have a replacement ready, don't extend your time 5-6 or more fights for whatever reason, it's also courtesy to the replacement who have agreed to wait a bit to take your place not to let him hanging for another 30 minutes

i agree with both of you, but still you do have 2 hours, and besides its hard to level up sometimes, nevertheless to get an invite,

it has happend to me before, and i still i use my time to get a party, and if i get lucky i lvl up a lvl or two, then i leave, the pt might get angry or dissapointed, but im sure they have done this as well as I. :wink:

The problem is that it ruins the fun for others. This is more an issue post50 than anything. Post 50 it's spend (optimistically) 30minutes finding and assembling party members, another 30 minutes traveling a dangerous road to a campsite. Then you party for 30minutes, and someone says, "I ned 2 go p/u me sis from grlscts!1!1!" Grrrrr! It's just irritating.

Let's put another spin on it. Say this party was just AWESOME and you were on a pace to gain 7k/hr before this party disbanded. Sure at level 40 this seems great! You just gained most of a level! However, at 62, after that great 30 mins I am now sitting at 4000/31000. So I basically feel like I didn't accomplish anything in that 90mins. It is now probably too late for me to reassemble/travel again, so you've killed my night as well.

Ok in a pre 30 party if you have less then 2 hours w/e. In a 30-45 party you should give the party heads up before. post 45 and especialy in the 50s, I would say do not even party unless a group is desperate.

The higher your level, obviously, the longer it takes for the entire process.
Finding (or forming) a group, deciding on the lvling spot, and then hoping no-one dies on the way down when someone inevitably aggro's.

All this just to START to try to get some xp. And as anyone past 50 knows,
the glory days of 4 digits tnl are GONE! So if you are pre say.... lvl 40, 2 hrs is more than enough time to make it worthwhile.

But if I had spent 2-3 hrs. just getting a party going, only to have someone leave after the 3rd or 4th mob, I'd be pretty pissed too. But there are always exceptions. i.e. emergency, injury, family etc. I never have a problem when someone has to deal with lifes little suprises, or when they let us know ahead of time how long they can play.

how about this very common scenario?

9:30pm (absolute bedtime 11:30)
situation: LFG

you get an invite right away and the party is just sitting around;
possibly looking for a 6th member or someone forgot the signet
or everyone is sleeping and waiting for the leader to do something.

by the time this sleepy party wakes up and assigns jobs:
tank , pull, skillchains.......

it could very-well be 10:30 at this point.
I guess that only leaves ONE hour to party.

I agree with the tiny kernal of sanity in your post, Teng.

rephrased: "please don't join a party and leave within 10min
or 1/2 hour"

not to put words in your mouth but I think this is what you
were looking for.
