Brin said:Yea, the 'check' system works good. Its just that alot of ppl make the mistake of thinking that since their lvl 75 and the mob is lvl 70 that would mean the mob's stats are worse. Stats are not based on lvl's per say. Stats raise at a certain constant rate per lvl depending on your race, and even then, your base stats you start off with can be hugely different to any mob. And not just stats either....some mobs have an insane amount of HP and dont even get me started on how large their MP pool is.
Now, if I were a designer for SE, I would not let anything go out of date. I wouldnt say "Oh, you guys are bored with Dynamis and want a new challenge? Alright, we'll put Dynamis in a box and leave it in the attic and give you a new toy called <random end game activity i.e. 'Sea'>"
Instead, I would not only give the players that new toy, but also keep old things like Dynamis up to date with the rest of the game. FFXI is ALOT different then it used to be back when Dynamis was first implimented. But, i'm not talking about just Dynamis, I'm talking about any of the old stuff in the game. Alot more stuff should get updated to be able to stick with the times.
Its almost like ToAU is that brand new nice house equiped with the latest and greatest, and some of the old stuff in the original content of the game is like your old great aunt's house who is stuck in the 70s and her house surely shows this. Everything smelling like mothballs and on the coffee table are a bowl of candy corn that have been sitting there for god knows how long and its not even close to Halloween.

Kire said:I just call the lv 70+ JSE2 lol
dedalius said:Mai, I like AVs loot tables. He actually has some of the best items in the game. He just need to not be broken.
The rest of your post I agree with completey.
Mai Ikari said:In comparison to the difficulty of AV's fight, any armor with less than all stats +100 / 50% damage reduction is too weak. Hence why I said shitty drops / hard fight.
But yea, if he wasn't broken, he'd be a very nice loot/fight ratio.
...and there's misquito guts on my monitor. Damn things. -_-
dedalius said:Well, they aren't shitty drops. They're the best items in the game for their slots.
As it stands AV is too hard, but once we figure out how to lock his 2 hrs and spell spam he'll be fairly easy, and more matching to his loot tables.

A new ja for smn it works like an asorb spell only its called
Heretic Seal Recast 10 mins(or 20 is best?)
The users stats are transferred to the avatar/spirit the % of stats and drained are determined by the avatar's element/stat association* and perp is enhanced or weakened by the current day.
Ie cast Ifrit>Heritic Seal>Firesday= more Str drained from the pc than any other avatar and the stat its opposing element is weakest in in this case water or mind would have the least addition bonus to the avatar, doing heretic seal on ifrit on firesday would cut its perp by half(too much?) and "allow" it to melee where as if it was heretic sealed on watersday its perp would double.
Carbuncle, Fenrir, and Diabolos would have equal stats all around doing heretic seal on their day would enhance their bps effectiveness.
*= Its a theory on Alla that the avatar's strength for the pc depends on their race ie elf with levy would be strongest since the theory suggests water is related to mind(by association not by a modifier's purpose like int and black magic) and garuda would be weak for an elf smn because of their races low agi. Stacking agi, mnd, etc. would not affect the avatars performance, its based only on the natural stats which brings up the old shot down theory that stats influence avatars.
Ask away if i wasn't clear enough.
