if you were a designer for SE....

if I was a dev, I would put a load of new words into the auto-translator.

Yea, the 'check' system works good. Its just that alot of ppl make the mistake of thinking that since their lvl 75 and the mob is lvl 70 that would mean the mob's stats are worse. Stats are not based on lvl's per say. Stats raise at a certain constant rate per lvl depending on your race, and even then, your base stats you start off with can be hugely different to any mob. And not just stats either....some mobs have an insane amount of HP and dont even get me started on how large their MP pool is.

Now, if I were a designer for SE, I would not let anything go out of date. I wouldnt say "Oh, you guys are bored with Dynamis and want a new challenge? Alright, we'll put Dynamis in a box and leave it in the attic and give you a new toy called <random end game activity i.e. 'Sea'>"

Instead, I would not only give the players that new toy, but also keep old things like Dynamis up to date with the rest of the game. FFXI is ALOT different then it used to be back when Dynamis was first implimented. But, i'm not talking about just Dynamis, I'm talking about any of the old stuff in the game. Alot more stuff should get updated to be able to stick with the times.

Its almost like ToAU is that brand new nice house equiped with the latest and greatest, and some of the old stuff in the original content of the game is like your old great aunt's house who is stuck in the 70s and her house surely shows this. Everything smelling like mothballs and on the coffee table are a bowl of candy corn that have been sitting there for god knows how long and its not even close to Halloween.

Except your Aunt's house has all of the good stuff in it. All the stuff in the new house is just there for posterity :-/

I would inform them that people want less Hydra/AV (shitty drops / hard fight) and more zilart kings (sweet drops / used-to-be-hard fight). Sure Hydra will eventually be a simple matter, someone will EVENTUALLY find out the trick to AV, but we all know what we really want, loot tables that match the mob's difficulty.

Even if it only enhances one job, that's fine, gives more possible NMs, just make it a worthwhile enhancement like http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/5911 , not http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/8697 (It's like a SH... only infinitely more difficult to obtain, and SAM/DRG only... wtf)

The game has reached its obvious cap in multi-job gear (adaberk, ridill, etc), so what about expanding further into JSE? People want "Teir 2" abjurations, we all know that's not gonna happen... but what about another JSE teir?

AF, enhances job abilities and provides the occasional useful stat boost.
AF2, ehances other job abilities, or current ones in different ways, and various useful stat boosts, mostly situational.
AF+1, largely WS equip with raw stat boosts, but also some new job ability enhancements.
AF2+1, minor upgrades for gear that's already the best (Duelist's Chapeau +1, anybody?), but mostly +1 for +1's sake.
JSE, provides completely different enhancements to job stats, like BRD song time, SAM Store TP, DRK Absorb spells, and some useful stats.

Now how about a JSE2, in the same vein as JSE, enhancing job-defining abilities in a different way. If there -was- a MNK JSE, let's say the first one enhanced Chi Blast, and the second would enhance martial arts / attack. Or DRK, first set enhances Absorb spells / WS, second enhances accuracy and haste drivels off into Zam! speculation and unbalancedness from boredom between NEIT classes*

DRK does have JSE2 mai
lv 50 gear JSE1
lv 72-75 JSE2

That's not the JSE I was talking about. That's a level 50 quest set, some peices are job-specific, other's arn't. -_-;;

JSE = job specific

lv 50 gear DRK only is still JSE, so is the higher lv gear. Only expection is AF as that is artfiact like in the quests name.

JSE is generally accepted to be the level 70-ish crafted sets. Just like RSE. If I say RSE, people know I'm talking about the level 30-ish quest gear. But RSE as Race Specific Equipment can also refer to level 1 gear you start off with, and the level 62 BCNM drops. But we dont' call those RSE, we call them starter gear and RSE2. RNG and MNK have Aqueducts JSE too, but those are neither full sets nor fall under the description of JSE that I gave.

In short... It's not up for debate.

Mai, I like AVs loot tables. He actually has some of the best items in the game. He just need to not be broken.

The rest of your post I agree with completey.

I just call the lv 70+ JSE2 lol

Do you call the silly red, nonstat SAM Armor JSE1, then the 50 body and pants that have StoreTP+ JSE2, then Hachiman JSE3? Yeah, theres gotta be a line drawn. JSE is usally a set, so that eliminates the subligar stuff and it's paired NM Drop item. And it's usually has beneficial stats, so that eliminates the red gear.

Hachiman is SAMs only JSE.

In comparison to the difficulty of AV's fight, any armor with less than all stats +100 / 50% damage reduction is too weak. Hence why I said shitty drops / hard fight.

But yea, if he wasn't broken, he'd be a very nice loot/fight ratio.

...and there's misquito guts on my monitor. Damn things. -_-

Well, they aren't shitty drops. They're the best items in the game for their slots.

As it stands AV is too hard, but once we figure out how to lock his 2 hrs and spell spam he'll be fairly easy, and more matching to his loot tables.

Only problem is, everyone has been saying that for a damn long time and about 90% of the population has given up.

AV is killable by 18 people, well 18 SE people lol

us around54 last i heard lol

Hmm ok how about this

A new ja for smn it works like an asorb spell only its called

Heretic Seal Recast 10 mins(or 20 is best?)

The users stats are transferred to the avatar/spirit the % of stats and drained are determined by the avatar's element/stat association* and perp is enhanced or weakened by the current day.

Ie cast Ifrit>Heritic Seal>Firesday= more Str drained from the pc than any other avatar and the stat its opposing element is weakest in in this case water or mind would have the least addition bonus to the avatar, doing heretic seal on ifrit on firesday would cut its perp by half(too much?) and "allow" it to melee where as if it was heretic sealed on watersday its perp would double.

Carbuncle, Fenrir, and Diabolos would have equal stats all around doing heretic seal on their day would enhance their bps effectiveness.

*= Its a theory on Alla that the avatar's strength for the pc depends on their race ie elf with levy would be strongest since the theory suggests water is related to mind(by association not by a modifier's purpose like int and black magic) and garuda would be weak for an elf smn because of their races low agi. Stacking agi, mnd, etc. would not affect the avatars performance, its based only on the natural stats which brings up the old shot down theory that stats influence avatars.

Ask away if i wasn't clear enough.

So in essence, its a reverse Spirit Link?

Nah I think of it more as another variation of Spirit link

Like Divine Seal and Elemental seal

not reverse just related in a sense

Which makes me forget something

SE let us Bsts be able to use two pets at once! you call us master of beasts but wtf other pet jobs out dd us easier ; ; /end rant

ok next ability, I was talking with TheFlock last week about how we should have the ability to use two pets, this is what I thought up

Update: Bsts will have the ability to use two pets at once. However to prevent overpowering(read:bandwagoning) there will be a "limit". The combined pet strength cannot exceed that of a tough mob

I'll update how this would be a good ability later I can't remember all of the rules that I thought up for this was really good system >.>

i dont know if anyone said this yet but u remeber ff10 tje guy tidus i think they should create a new job like that a blitzballer nd then add blitzball into the geme some how i think that would be a great idea but ten se would probably charge to play blitzball like they charge to play that stupid card game so there fore my idea is probably bad lol but the blitzbal character would be cool a dd with a reusable range

how about make blitzball a mini game of ffxi? i loved that "sport"

make rdms enspells pt onry targetable yes prease^^
