Illegal Immigrants, support or against?

You obviously don't know laws. Cause a person CAN become a citicizen without marrying an American. They have to take tests and such... but they can become citicizens.

Wrong buddy. Sorry, but they cannot. Read my post again, you must be a PERMANENT RESIDENT to apply for citizenship. That means you have to have autorization to work or a green card, you cannot get those 2 things legally without dishing out thousands of dollars entering a lottery which a few people win. You're an American and you don't know your own laws, pathetic, just admit you're wrong and move on.

I got nothing against immigrants in general but if you dont respect the laws in the first place to come to the country the right way then you dont deserve to be here.

Send em back to mexico but possibly ease the regualtions on letting them come back legally.

QFT. They are line-skipping, fence-jumping, lettuce-picking bastards.

Get in the right way, learn the language, thank you

Good job, again, thinking that border hoppers are the only ones we talk about when we say 12k illegals.

i fail to see the point of this arguement? what...just because you're not mexican it's less illegal that you're hear illegally? fuck you

http://uscis.gov/graphics/citizenship/becoming.htm

sure does seem like you can certainly become a US Citizen. Sure you have to take tests, lived here for sometime, etc but I think those are fine requirements. Green Cards last longer than the required timed to become a citizen. If it's so difficult for green cards to be issued than, by all means, you can try to change it. All those requirements to be a citizen are requirements citizens are supposed to already have.

And Rones, I told you to ignore my swears anyway.
I never commented on your swears. I just skip over them. It is the personal insults and attacks on the person rather than the idea that I dislike. You admit defeat when you ingnore the argument and attack the person.
Sure, but politics=flameboard
No, that is false. Off topic and reality sinks in have seen many productive political discussions that did not have flameboard material. This is done by respecting the other person and attacking the idea, not the person.
They work hard to feed their family, put them through college, pay all of their taxes, keep a cleaner credit history than any typical American can, all that stuff.
Could you explain to me how an illegeal would go about filing their taxes? I thought they needed a social security number for that along with many other documents that an illegeal (even from expired visa), could not get. Bigger problem is that by them being illegeal, we can't enforce the taxes on them since they aren't on the books per se. That's nice some feel like good people and do their taxes, but given the choice most illegeals wouldn't pay.
I am saying you cant just kick 12k people out of this country
Yes, yes you can and it would be a lot more than 12,000. However, it would be a gradual process as we can't just find and round all of them up over night. At best I would say it would be a 10 to 15 year process to clear out most and assuming we found a way to keep them out.

god i love it when rones picks people apart makes me lol everytime.

What? See, this is what Im talking about. Read the posts, understand them, dont assume. I never said anything like that, a few people have posted here assuming that when we argue about illegal immigration its just the mexicans and border hoppers we are talking about. its not, its about expired visas also.

God I love it when people post useless dickriding comments. We're having a discussion here, not a "im owning you" arguement. Go away or say something useful.

Ellemire,
You are wrong again. Please atleast read the websites you link us too.
Quote, "Live in the U.S. for at least 5 years as a permanent resident(or 3 years if married to and living with a U.S. citizen)."

See, there is no way around it. You must be married to a citizen, which is illegal if you're just trying to get a green card/citizenship (And it will get you deported).

You need to have a green card or a authorization to work to become a permanent citizen. its always been this way, I think I would know...

Not true, simply not true. In fact, the only ones successful politics are those who manage to stay above the flameboard material gully.

Only partially true.
Entering the Green Card lottery is free, for 2007 there are 50,000 cards that will be in the game. There are a variety of other ways to obtain your Green Card (permanent residency), see U.S. Citzenship and Immigration Services - Green Cards (LPR), specifically Who May Apply to Become a Lawful Permanent Resident While in the United States?, many of which do not apply to unskilled and uneducated workers from "developing nations".

Germans are really more nationalists than they are racists per se. A racisit will accept someone of the same race, but I German won't accept a white Frenchman. My point is that while Americans dislike people from poorer nations but are for the most part fine with Canadians, and Brits and such, Germans dislike everyone the same, no matter where they are from. This by itself actually makes Germans the better people as their dislike is not conditional on economic background of the disliked.

Re: expired visas
Just as illegal as those who jump the fence. What's the difference really? Just because people were here on an H1 or H2 and decided to stay after doesn't make them any less of an illegal immigrant.

that's easily understandable, but you argue them like they are two different points.

Border hopping has to be stopped, right now.

Legal immigration however must continue for America's economy to stay decent, the people that stay here past their Visa go through a lot of shit that you ignorant fucks couldn't even have nightmares about. Have some sympathy, they are helping America, not hurting it.
guess what, if the visa expired, THEY'RE STILL ILLEGAL. you make it sound like they are breaking a different law than border hoppers...they aren't

It may sound like that to you, but I never said anything like that.

By the way Sculli, do you have any idea how many pictures you need to enter the lottery? Easily $500 for a few people.

And you have proven absolutely nothing by those amnesties you linked me to, those are all from 1996, and not all people come from countries eligible for that. Those are all very rare cases. And yes I know they're still just as illegal, but they came here legally which atleast means they're trying to make a living, thats all I'm saying. Im not saying they should be kept and the Mexicans deported. But they should be given more options to remain in America, because there isn't really much you could do.

I'm afriad you are wrong. You do NOT need to be married to a US citizen to become acquire citizenship. The time for you to have lived in the US though is just shorter if you happen to be married to a US Citizen. Even if you marry a US Citizen you don't be come a US Citizen right after the ceremony. It takes some time after that (years) for the US to accept you as a US citizen.

IF, however, you aren't married to a US Citizen, instead of 3 years to get your stuff it'll take 5. Permanent resident would mean you don't own a house in another country and live there for the summer or something and come during times to work. As in, you have your primary residence in the US. You might visit people outside the country every now and then but if you are out of the US for a long period of time you won't be elligable for US Citizenship.

I just caught the comment about the car washes for 15 bucks.
Anyone knows that a good or even decent car wash already costs 15 bucks or more...Or you live in bumblefuck.

Anyone can charge 5-8 dollars and run your car through some worthless piece of shit "wash" and have a Beaner dry it with a rag.

Does that mean we need immigrants to do our dirty work? No.
Does that mean some of us like immigrants to do our work? Sure.

The immigrants in question are the illegal ones.

Buy a bucket and wash your own car. Buy a lawnmover and mow your own grass, Jesus Christ...Fuck.

Ahem, I know more about that process than you will ever, im sure, so you don't have to try to look smart.

And no, permanent resident does not mean what you think it does. It means 1) Living here by VISA
2) Living here with a green card
3) Living here by amnesty from countries
4) Going through process of obtaining legal status (Authorization to work)
