jp only how gay and stupid they can become

I try to pty with anyone....be it NA, EU, JP, or any others I missed. I dont do it to suck up to anyone....I just do it cause I dont see a reason not to. Sometimes I'm in great NA ptys....sometimes I'm in crappy ones....Sometimes I'm in great JP ptys....sometimes I'm in crappy ones.

Now a days....the JP and the NA players have pretty much evened out with 'good' and 'bad' players. That may not be the case, but it has in my own personal experiances. Were all just humans....thats how I see it. Just cause you speak a different language doesnt make you any more special than anyone else.

Meh, I'm probably starting to go way off topic now, lol. Oh well....I like to let my opinions known.

Not even if I still have the accent? Or, in your opinion, does a person's manhood grow once they leave the Province...? :shok:

In Québec, the legal drinking age is just a suggestion.

This is completely off-topic, and I know I may be asking for a world of trouble as a forum "nobody" emerging with an oft-repeated jab, but the problem's so bad that I just can't restrain myself from saying something any longer. :/

It's apparent that I'm not the only person who has the damndest time understanding anything Blazn posts, but still ... it feels like I'm analyzing military cipher every time I make the mistake of trudging through his mysterious, encoded gibberish. Joking about it only takes one so far; but the only way I'm going to be able to stop the buzzing in my skull is to address him directly. I know he's heard it before, but my nose isn't going to stop bleeding until he hears it from me.

So:

Please, friend, lighten up on the Internet idiot-speak. There's something to be said for respecting the fact that not everything needs to be abbreviated. There's nothing wrong with the occasional "brb," "lol," or abbreviating common game terms from time-to-time ... but you truly abuse the practice.

It may be faster for you to type that way, but realize that the time you save initially is paid for three times over by the people that have to translate it back into English. If you want people to invest their time into reading what you want to say, it's not too much to ask that you invest YOUR time into making it EASIER TO READ.

I know you understand what you are trying to say, but it's important to understand that people who read your posts read it exactly as you TYPE it, not exactly as you MEAN it. If it looks like a retarded three-year-old on crack was mashing on your keyboard, that's exactly what you're going to sound like to someone reading your goddamned post.

I'm never going to read a Blazn post again. It's nothing personal against you, but the cracking open and decoding of them gives me a migraine. Your unwillingness to do anything more than vomit your thoughts in an unrefined form is irritating, and simply generates in me an unwillingness to digest your thoughts for you.

Finally, I don't see why you felt that you could convince anyone that you understand even a single character of Japanese, when you have such a difficult time with your native language. Anyone who abbreviates "our" as "r" will never be working for a government's state department as a translator, I can assure you of that.

All of this is aside from the fact that your Japanese party members should have caught wise to you within seconds.

Oh, and by the way: referring to all negative things as "gay"? That's seventh-grade nonsense. It doesn't help your apparent intelligence level in the slightest, and it was already floundering.

Now, on-topic: Yes, you're basically complaining about the language tag. It's meant to show others what language is spoken by you, and give others that might invite you the choice of whether or not that's a probem. Of course, there isn't any "AOL chatroom" language tag, so things might be more difficult for you. -_-

To accuse someone of having a a "Japanese only" attitude, I personally feel that the requirement should be observed in either a search comment or a direct tell. The little "J," "E," or "JE" next to a player's name in /search means very little regarding what sort of invites they'll accept.

not sure what you meant skaw, by "quit sucking JP dick, search as english"

were you implying people who seek "JE" and really don't speak japanese at all, or pretend to speak japanese, or are you implying people who seek "J" and can't speak japanese/pretend to speak japanese?

i find nothing wrong with participating with japanese players in FFXI (both of my main linkshells have japanese players who are respectful of everyone in the shell, including the other american players)

and on topic, japanese players who say "JP ONLY PLEASE!" are saying it for one of a few reasons

A. they would rather party with japanese players, due to communication reasons (whether it be having standard conversation with other japanese players, which sometimes includes talking shit about NA players who suck *who may speak also speak and understand what they're saying*, or perhaps they would rather not party with an NA player who types everything in the auto-translate like Stouter said, when it comes out making not one damn bit of sense)

B. they're racist (most aren't)
C. their experience with NA members in the party has been lackluster, and have had better parties with japanese players, for whatever reasons (The most likely reason for JP ONLY, right here)

why cant qcdn have a translator for your posts? ><

I nominate myself to follow him around, and post after every one of his posts with the English Translation...

Japanese people have "JP ONRY" most of the time because NA players tend to "disconnect", act like a 10 year old, straight out suck and or complain about JP being racists.

And I tend to agree.

GTFO >.>
JP parties 4tw.

Amusing story, somewhat relates.

I made a party as my BRD last night with a NIN BLM RDM DRK WAR BRD is the Crawler's Nest killing beetles. Only person who was JP in the group was a rank 10 BLM. About every 30-45 minutes she would blizga a few caveberries by accident. Fortunetly the rest of us were so elite that we stomped the shit out of a whole pack of them for some nice chaining. 2 conclusions can be drawn from this:
either
1. The BLM was the weakest link and only one that managed to put us in danger durring the entire party [multiple times].

-or-

2. The BLM was ingenious, recognised that we could handle 3-4 IT mobs with nasty AoEs, and pressured us into fighting them all on purpose.

So it is often unclear to me which, in general, are the better players. But lately, the worst player in the PT has always been JP. It certainly doesn't mean they all are, there is no way I could say that, but the amount I am seeing suck lately is sstarting to confuse me.

Hurray for generalization!

generalization is part of life, whether you're NA, JP, white, black, latino, whatever

everyone makes generalizations and assumptions about everyone

what would you do as an employer if you had two guys apply for a job opening, you know nothing about either guy other than what they looked like (you haven't interviewed either person, only seen them when they dropped off their resume)

one guy had his arms tattooed from the wrist to his biceps
the other guy was clean shaven, and had zero tattoos

which guy are you gonna call back for an interview? the guy with tattoos could potentially be a MUCH better job candidate but based on what you know as a person, people who plaster tattoo's all over their bodies are more likely to be a troubling individual than someone who's got zero tattoo's

JP's who've had multiple bad parties with NA's, are obviously gonna make the generalization that the majority of NA's suck at this game (and btw, that's a fact that I've learned in my damn near 600 days of playtime), and they'd rather not take a chance at letting an NA prove themselves as being good when they can just grab a japanese player (maybe even someone they know personally) and party with them without the risk of problems

don't act like generalizing only happens on the internet

I don't quite agree that "most" NA players are "horrible," but I will say this:

There is definitely LESS risk involved with going with a Japanese player than a NA player, in terms of how likely it is you're going to get a complete idiot. Yes, you'll run into really bad Japanese players, and you'll run into godly good NA players, but the NA player base has a greater share of the "really bad" category than does the Japanese player base. If you honestly don't believe this, you're deluding yourself.

Shriek, huff, and wheeze about "Uncle Tom" attitudes all you want, and blow those "JP ass-kissing" accusations out of your butt until the cows come home, but it's freaking true. There are more of us that suck, and there are more of them that are good.

Why?

Cultural differences. If you encounter an NA player who makes some bad choices, it's very difficult to give them tips if they don't ask for any. It doesn't matter how "constructive" you make your criticism ... for many Americans, and English-speaking cultures in general, even a slight implication of ignorance or inferiority ignites an incredible rush of anger and defensiveness. We don't like to have our skill questioned, even if we have almost none. Why do you think one of the greatest gaming insults we have for each other is "n00b"?

In short, it's harder for us to teach other. Rather than create a gigantic stink, a lot of us will keep our mouths shut, and let a horrible player stay horrible. We may find an excuse to leave a party, but a lot of the time, we don't confront the problem and try to remedy it. Even if we do try, it probably won't work ... the person you're trying to help may only dig his/her heels in and stick to their old habits out of stubborness.

It's very different for Japanese parties. A Japanese player, at least when dealing with other Japanese players, values humility. If the leader of a Japanese party requests of another player that they try something a different way, even if that person doesn't believe it will be any better, they'll comply out of politeness. It's almost a completely opposite attitude.

Once a player actually tries something, and gives it a greater chance than a five-minute run, whether or not that method is better should become apparent to them. It's harder for us to do that. Thus, our newbies are newbies for a longer period of time, and we have a greater share of assholes to boot.

All of this is aside from the fact that Japanese people are more willing to do reading about the game. They're used to studying, and being forced to do it for an MMORPG feels like a walk in the park compared to what they're expected to do during their grade school years. There are a lot more of us that just turn to /shout when we have a question, and rely on the irritation of others to teach us everything.

It's just true. As long as we can't let go of our pride, it'll be this way forever.
