I've been ripped into enough? What you reading there buckshot? Don't get me started flaming you.

Congratulations!

You just completely skipped EVERYTHING in Cub's post and responded with absolutely nothing!

Shhhhhh.

If you listen closely enough, you can make out the faint sound of goalposts moving.

Syn- Please do not think you got the best of me, but I am done arguing with you. Every response is "Get your head out of the bricks, your ass, etc" or "You don't understand what I am saying, your comprehension is horrible etc" Same shit. Every time. I clearly respond to every one of your posts and every point in them, yet you keep coming back with the same tired response of how "I don't understand".

You arent getting out of it that easy vang.
Did you ever for a moment consider that you Don't understand?
Can you tell me, by synopsis of my last post, what I was getting at, and how it applies to you?
Dont even start into some kind of stance of i say the same thing and your tired of it. I can go back to each and every post youve ever flamed and show you how they are so rehashed as to make a person think you have all your replies macroed in ms word.
The difference being, where my posts drive home a similar point or theme, as they are intended to for a positive effect, your answers tend to stagnate.
Mine, well, mine are battering a pertty thick skull, so im quite sure they havent gotten in yet, ergo the repitition.
Simple fact vang is you DONT understand how to be a critic, but a CONSTRUCTIVE critic.
It's pretty fucking easy to judge, to be a cynic and to bash. To hide behind your words, safe and secure, never offering or saying anything real at all.
It's so much harder to offer and present a real solution to a problem, and to do so with the dignity of both you and the reader in mind. To do it in a way that draws people to you, instead of pushing them away.(and i dont mean This particular post vang, i mean All your posts...ever)
You say you walk and talk the same? You come off as someone wanting to lead people, to sway their minds and ideas. But for whos benifit? Theirs, everyones, or yours? I'll tell you now, it doesn'nt seem like following your advice would be for anyones benifit but you.
You let no one sway your ideas, you never allow yourself to be at fault. That doesnt make a good leader, that doesnt make anything except what you present as. (which let me tell you, is sad.)
I aim to help you with that. Consider dropping the hostility as a first step vang, its a natural defensive mechanism. The mind once safe in its patterns, will defend those patters (no matter how unhealthy) at all costs.
The first step to understanding these patterns is being able to step back and see things objectively. Until a person does that, or Wants to do that, the ability to ask questions that lead to new growth cannot happen.
You could probably be an exceptional person with a little work vang. But you aren't there yet.

:P aside from the issues here, this is pretty funny :P

Well at least Mira, pulled Vang aggro off of me. */em uses Vang oil* lol.
No that's not me. I wanted to mention something about ranger really
quick. Maybe it's only because my rng is level 30 (that may be the why)
but it seems the only skill you need is a large bankroll.

I'm have a blast playing rng, but on the other hand I'm a little ashamed of
it. I feel like an xp leech when I play rng. With sam, you really do have
to think and check your cool-down skills and time things and if someone
does toss a random skill, you gotta quickly think of the chain to do it.

With rng i'm: pluck bow, pluck bow, pluck bow, (wait so i don't get too
much hate), pluck bow, pluck bow, (mob almost dead? good.) barrage,
pluck bow. ...ok next fight...

I'm not slamming rng, vang. Don't get me wrong. This is just a statement
of how I'm a little embarrassed to play it. Even though it's repetitive,
somehow I still enjoy it. Maybe at later levels, it won't be repetitive.

I've taken it to 30 to pause for Promyvion runs, then going to freeze it
at 40 for BCNMs. If I love it, I might bring it higher but sam is more
challenging for me and it's still my passion.

Myushia (spelling?) is also passionate about sam, it sounds. If you go to
allakazham's job forums for sam, you will eventually find posts about
people not understanding sams, or belittling us or how OTHERS can't get
the SC timing down. I know there are terrible sams who make the others
look bad but aren't there terrible players in ALL jobs? I think I've asked
that before.

Run out... look for mob... avoid aggro... check widescan when low on mobs to pull... track... pull... avoid aggro... avoid links... position for SA/TA... pluck bow... pluck bow... pluck bow... pluck bow... (overaggro) wait one more hit... re-apply Utsusemi... wait for tank to regain hate... pluck bow... pluck bow... initiate skillchain... pluck bow... pull out Barrage to kill mob... let mob eat through Utsusemi if not dead yet... re-apply Utsusemi before next pull.

RNG has a lot to do, like all other jobs. Have to watch TP, position right if you intend to over-aggro/blink tank a bit, trust your tank, and all that pulling too.

oh shit, i didn't mean to start another hot topic. Sorry flaruwaru.
Seriously, wasn't man.

Yeah
I forgot to mention about pulling. I have a blast when pulling. I think
it's a lot of fun. Plus the puller sort of controls the speed of xp so the
puller needs to be on his/her toes when it comes to many factors. I was
just meaning the pure combat part is repetitive. I don't /nin so the Utsemi
(spelling?) didn't apply to me.

I should try to get nin unlocked one of these days. It seems to be a really
handy sub. Dual Hawker's knives? whoa! That's worth it right there.

Miryu-maybe I should have made the thread more clear for certain levels. Because it's apparent you and Duff are the only ones to respond, Duff already admitted he has a new stance on these items, and I have a feeling you're a low level player. I think it's expected around 42 when partys travel to the secret room/rumbler room and on up that melee should have their own items to make it safe and sound. What level are you btw? You can get pissed all you want, it's irresponsible on your part to not have at least a stack of both on you at all times. These are not my opinions, these are FACTS.

if u read my post in response to Devi's, i said that once i get to the level where i need to party there to advance, i most likely WILL have to buy oils and powders. what i'm pissed about is your thinking that bcuz of some people who party with you who DON'T organize skillchains, that you have to flame every melee class, saying we don't bring anything to the table other than to attack every few seconds. i organize skillchains, i love doing it. Why? Well, aside from it being part of my job as a samurai, i do them so that i DON'T become one of the robotic attacking melee people whom u so obviously despise.

Taken out of context this is a rather comical statement

Um, an actual Ranger question that i hear often. Kind of not flamy but whatever, is it better to Barrage before or after a SC. I'm not a ranger usually but i hear the question alot.

This thread is gettin' almost as long as that whm thread. Dangggg ...

depends on the situation. barrage is a sure shot chain 5/6 since it will land you anywhere from 86 > 99 tp depending on the weapon your using. generally, its probably best used After a sc, tp = accy with side, theres no reson early on with rngs tp gain over everyone else to need it for that extra tp to land a side (getting 125-150 by the time your chain partner hits 100 is no prob). generally i find its best used on chains 2 and 5, 5 min recharge. any sooner is a waste, and any later you wont have it back for chain 5.
and sometimes you just want to destroy a mob, for giggles. sc + mb > barrage + slashx2 /1 shot > side within 10 seconds usually does that fairly well.

wow, in a few simple paragraphs you've managed to insult every DD class there is. let me tell you something dumbshit, being a samurai, were sorry attacking isn't good enough for you, but don't EVEN expect me to believe that theres some deeper meaning behind hitting that ranged attack macro you for certain have set up. every melee job does exactly what there supposed to, were sorry that its too meat-and-potatos for you, vang  . as far as that shit about silent oils and prism powders? uh, in my opinion, i don't think us melee players should have to spend around 14k just to party with ppl who might me complete idiots or assholes. you're sick of us dying on the way to camp? well, i think that the melee ppl who your refering to most likely are hard of seeing or just complete morons to not know what mobs in an area aggro to what or even at all, and avoid those mobs on their way to camp. i've seen duffman around and i can honestly say he's as good a samurai as you are an elitist asshole. duff's comment a little too harsh for you? well, i think insulting every melee class by calling them retards just because they don't do what YOU think they should is a little harsh as well. in fact, starting a thread to do it is harsh. oh, and that word duffman used, it's sentience which means possessing thought or consciousness, which u obviously lack. its called a dictionary, buy one asshole

1. You're s Sam too? Pfft. Some Sam's have to realize it's not about attacking. It's about TP gaining. If you can't use at least two weapon skill's per battle, go fuckyourself, pick another job.

2. Going towards to camp next to Valley of sorrows I only had to use 2 of each potion. Witch brings me to point vang failed to get across. A stack of these potions doesnt get eaten like candy. If you know where to go, you'll only use roughly two of each.

3. Last I looked Duffan is wearing and Ochidotes Kote, Selling for 6OOk If he can afford that he can afford 14k. Witch Duffman Kote is a big fucking waste on SAM, very bad move.

4. If you can't afford to buy shit that you need, then don't level up. Take some time and make some money. It's not hard.

My husband (played SAM) had this theory that the supply of Tonosama riceballs was kept down as part of a conspiracy to keep the Ochi Kote's price up

(don't know if supply of these has gone up but I remember him having trouble finding them pretty often when he was still playing)

It's great how every time you're beaten you use the "Oh, you just didn't understand me" post. Yet in reality it's you that completely skips over other peoples points, and makes counter arguments to things that were never argued in the first place.

http://www.qcdn.org/viewtopic.php?t=3756&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

Read the last two pages of that thread. You go off on things that have nothing to do with anything, I break down your post and force you to stay on topic, and you back out of the thread. How many times do you have to "get pwned" and use the same excuses over and over again for you to get it through your head that they just don't work?

FYI I bought the Kote when it was 450k; still expensive but a bargain
after the prices shot up. And no, I don't think it's a waste. I've noticed
a substantial damage increase. I'm no human-parsing-machine so don't
go all analytical on me. I just notice it is like having Berserk active.

Back to the point, yeah I can afford the oils and powders. seriously the
point I've made a million times is that I am a pure melee. All of my jobs
are melee (exception of level 6 whm for BST sub....gasp. galka mage).
As a pure melee, I tend to think mostly in the "Hulk Smash" sense as
someone so eloquently put it. Well "Hulk-Smash" with some thinking
involved. I'm not auto-attacking automiton. I never realized that we
"melee" were becoming a burden. Thus, I now carry these items with
me. Money isn't an issue as you put it. I'm not rich in the game but
I can at least afford the items.
CONSTANTLY.

WHICH ---not--- WITCH

forgot to add that xKronox never considered that I may have
"got the drop" with the kote. However he's right, I bought them.
I just got them for 450k.

side note on these kotes:
There is a new kote available that is Attack+15 (5 less than Ochiudo's)
The new kote has slightly lower stats than Ochiudo's and was introducec
(I believe) to give another option to the players who need them. This
was probably installed to offset the ridiculous pricing of Ochiudo.

That is my opinion.
Here is the fact: New kote= 2mil Ochiudo=500k-700k (ish)
1.3mil extra for a lesser piece of equipment?

There has to be something I am missing here. Sure I bought the kote
but there is no way I can afford 2mil. Even if I could afford it, why buy?

lol i got in a fight with my fiancee (thf 46) last night that he couldnt make it from the altepa crystal to the quicksand caves zone with his hide/flee abilities.

I was yelling at him for not carrying this stuff around with him always asking me to help him out (i didnt mind for awhile, really I didn't, but then there were people who started to say "oh sneak just wore off" and go ahead and get killed.. with no warning.. =oP) so we've got a bet going now

we'll see what happens.

i usually again, dont mind sneaking people from altep to quicksand or in the crawlers nest if they're going to autofollow me and arent afk so they can kill their things when they start to wear. however, lower level people im helping with quests, please dont ask me to keep this crap up on you, especially if you're kind of a newb.. because you will die, and if you start to blame me for it when you're the one who ran off being a wise ass and then said.. "oh, sneak wore off, im getting hit" .. i will leave your ass out there.

I used to be guilty of being a mage that didn't carry Prism Powder and Silent Oils. I thought Sneak and Invis would be fine. I had never encountered a situation where casting sneak and invisible was unwise because of nearby elementals, but it does seem like a fairly possible circumstance. Just wanted to let everyone know that I carry them now. I was a retarded mage once, and I've seen the light.

Anyway, everyone should carry these things. Not because when I'm a Whm, I mind casting them on people, but because they're very consistant. I don't know if there's a way to fix it, but Sneak and Invis spells have very random durations. I've had times when one would wear the moment I finished casting on the last person.

Pompidou casts sneak on Friend.
Pompidou casts invisible on Friend.
Pompidou casts sneak on Pompidou.
Pompidou casts invisible on Pompidou.
Pompidou: "All set. Let's hurry."
Friend: "OMGLOLZ!!1 Snek is Waering!!"
Pompidou: "!@#$%"

So, before I go insane from trying to keep these all but completely unreliable spells in effect on more than just myself (and even then, I often find myself in more trouble than I'd like from an inopportune wear), I too would recommend using the items instead of the spells. The items for as far as I can tell, last a set duration, and at that, a very long duration.

...just a minor correction for Pomp...

The oils and powders are not consistant. Both the mage spells
and the items can wear off in the middle of trouble. I guess SE
just wants "realism" or to keep us on our toes? ...dunno...

"realism" = kind of funny because its a fantasy game.
