PS3 Just got a Playstation 3. What to get?

I got my PS3 today, and was wondering what games I should pick up. I'm getting Uncharted 2 and Tekken 6 soon and already have assassin's creed II. I'm mostly looking for PS3 exclusives though as any multi plat games I'll probably pick up on xbox 360.

So mainly looking for RPGs and avoiding sports games and racing games. I don't like shooters all that much other than Halo 3, was going to try out Boarderlands however.

I'm borrowing Metal Gear Solid 4 off a friend also.

If you're getting Uncharted 2...Get drakes fortune and play through that first...it'll just make the experience more enjoyable.

Little big planet? it's strange...Gerry may be able to help you with PS3 exclusives.

White Knight Chronicles is coming out around Jan/Feb, and then there´s FFXIII of course.
 
Valkyria Chronicles (the best game of both systems right now, imo) and Folklore have kept me from selling my PS3 numerous times. They are also only $20 a piece, brand new (saw them both at Wal-Mart tonight).

Yeh going to pick that one up actually. Friend just recommended it to me. I'll look at folklore now.
 
Demon Souls. 110% worth it. Most frustrating game I've played in YEARS. Tons of replay value and very hard. Great multiplayer options, just check out the big thread on it.

Infamous, excellent game with some decent replay. Good story, and the classic good/evil playthroughs.

I would also highly suggest if you have not played them before, the god of war collection. And when it comes out God of War III. Great action, great replay value. In the same vein, go with Heavenly Sword used, it's similar gameplay but with full ps3 quality.

Right then, I'll split my suggestions up into four categories. Not all will be exclusives, but I will still suggest them anyway.

Retail Titles:

Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Killzone 2 (Trust me, it's worth it, especially seeing as it's around £20 ish now), Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, LittleBigPlanet, Disgaea 3, Agarest: Generations of War, Street Fighter IV, BlazBlue, Borderlands, Bioshock, Cross Edge, Valkyria Chronicles, Eternal Sonata, Warhawk, SOCOM Confrontation, Katamari Forever, Dragon Age: Origins.

Upcoming Retail titles:

White Knight Chronicles, FFXIII, Yakuza 3, Heavy Rain, Star Ocean: The Last Hope International, Bioshock 2, Quantum Theory, Darksiders, Aliens vs Predator, Bayonetta.

Import Titles:

Tales of Vesperia, White Knight Chronicles, Yakuza 4, Demon's Souls, 3D Dot Game Heroes

PSN Titles:

flOw, flower, PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Eden, PixelJunk Shooter, Fat Princess, Braid, WipeOut HD Fury (Also a retail game now), Trine, Bionic Commando Rearmed.

Do you know of a place I can import Tales of Vesperia from? I don't have any local independent game shops near me. Online sites will be fine for me also.

Also how do I get hold of Disgaea 3?

Disgaea 3? Amazon easily.

Tales of Vesperia? This will be in Japanese, but if you can manage with the language barrier then you'll be fine. Places to get the game would be something like HimeyaShop or eBay. Himeya will probably be expensive (FFXIII was around $103 last time I checked there), so you might want to shop around on eBay before making a firm purchase.

I don't mind importing from the US to get stuff earlier. But I doubt I'd ever import a JP game just because of the language thing. Shame really Tales looks epic from the gameplay footage I saw. Any idea of a US/EU release date?

It's been unofficially confirmed by the VA for Yuri, Troy Baker, but Namco Bandai have been very quiet about this matter at this time.
 
Yeah, I'd like Vesp on PS3 just to see how the pirate girl fits into the story and I also heard you get Flynn as a PC which I waited for throughout the whole game ; ; lol. was still and awesome game.
 
Was just about to make another "Just got a PS3" Thread, but i think ill just hijack DWs!

I just got one and picked up 3 games for gamestops Buy 2 get 1 free sale this weekend. Im thinking these are good titles, Infamous, MGS4, and Uncharted 1 (2 was S/O).

Was also considering getting the God ofWar 2 collection, i too am looking for some more PS3 titles, preferrably exclusives since im a longtime 360 user

I think that's funny considering someone else did too lol. I clicked their's thinking it was DW's for a minute. Get Madden so I can kick your ass =D
 
Heavenly Sword is definately a fun game. It's the first one I played on the system and it took me ages to get used to the wireless controller system because I fail at hand eye coordination, lol. I haven't played Folklore yet, but it looks pretty dang good and I've heard a lot of good things about it.
 
Heavenly Sword is a great game, but I'm goin' to warn against buying it. It's a 6-7 hour game at best with no reason to replay it again unless you just think the story is worth it. To me Heavenly Sword is that extremely rare (I don't mean hard to find a copy of the game here) awesome game that isn't worth owning.

None were 5 hours like Heavenly Blade though. Shortest game this gen. Also isn't it still kind of expensive?
