Lets talk about insomnia.

Well, since you are awake and not really doing anything, ever try like... lifting some free weights or something? Even if you don't fall asleep, you'll still be all Jack Diesel in about a month or so... :bb:

Try Yoga.

As crazy (or gay) as it sounds it actually does work =\

I had to do 2 hours of Yoga today for school and during the last part where they make you lie there with your eyes closed and breath about half of my class fell asleep.

Bah not been able to get more then 3 hours a sleep a night the last few days thanks to the Aderall, intentionally am doing an all nighter. Its 7 AM atm and did not sleep last night, been busy in library doing the projects.

This is going to sound incredibly stupid, but it works for me. I used to be completely incapable of going to sleep because my mind refused to shut off. What I do now is when I lay down to go to sleep, I start singing 99 Bottles of Beer mentally in my head. I've never made it all the way through the song without falling asleep first. You just find something to keep your mind from wandering and just lay still. You'll fall asleep.

I have this same problem. I'll be exhausted, go to bed, and it'll take me over an hour to get to sleep because I just can't quiet my mind. I also tense my body unconsciously, so that doesn't help. I try to catch myself doing it, and focus only on keeping my body as relaxed as I can, though inevitably as soon as my mind wanders up, my muscles tighten up again. I practically have to put myself into a meditative trance to stay relaxed.

My mind likes to think a lot too. It can be a bitch but if you aren't into singing you can always turn on a tv and focus your mind on the show and try to sleep. Been doing that since I was 5.

Sometimes it can suck though if nothing is on but that's why you should have huge DVD collection. <_<

But ya, I know stress. Been home for less then a week and I can't sleep at night. Too much on my mind here. When i was away I didn't think much because it didn't bother me there. If anything happened there would be people to fix it. Now though... anything can go wrong and no one will be able to help.

got a whole 5 hours last night . . . gogo Sleep Aid or some over the counter shit. Meh more than i have gotten in 2 weeks. I am going home though for the weekend so i will get some good hours there, i cant sleep when im at school.

5 hours? Not a bad start, but don't get too attached to sleep aids. If taken too much, they will make it even harder to get natural sleep in the future. If you need help sleeping, go to a local health food store or organic selling type place and ask them for something to help. It isn't addicting, and is all natural and only enhances the chemicals in the body that help you sleep. I forget the name of it, but I think it is some sort of root extract.

EDIT: OK, I remember the names. Valerian root and/or Melatonin

I ended up sleeping from 11pm~3am and can't fall back asleep for the life of me. I take naps when I absolutely have to, which tends to turn into a daily thing if I get too into the habit of it. I seem to sleep more during the day when no one's home since the house gets rather quiet in the winter. I keep my room pretty dark anyways, but there are a lot of flickering lights that get on my nerves, so I bought an eye mask that has improved my sleep by a lot. Even when I do end up sleeping in fairly "normal" hours, the mask helps block out the morning light that might wake me up before I want to.

And if free weights are unavailable...

Chin ups! Push ups! Sit ups!

If you can't sleep just do some hard core masturbation. That'll wear you out in no time.

Is that a rhetorical question?

Most rhetorical questions, don't have an answer, like "how many roads must a man walk down, before people call him a man?"

This one is more of a blatant yes.

Aren't you one of us? :bb:

More or less. I grew up with Intelevision, but I'd say the core of the "video game generation" grew up with a Sega Genesis. I base this on nothing but my own bias and stereotyping, you see, therefore I can't be wrong. Ain't it great?

That sounds exactly how my insomnia was. I still suffer from it but I actually get about 5 hours of sleep a night now. I tried the exercise if you can't sleep thing, then I realized it made me even more awake. For awhile I took tylenol pm, every other night so I wouldn't build up a dependence as quickly.
I stopped drinking caffeine after 3 o'clock, and I box three times a week (stress relief and exercise) and it's helped. But mostly all I can say is try everything and see what works.

Oh yeah, cause you know, who didn't get hard for this sexy mass of pixels!

Lol it's funny that Myrrh may actually be on to something. My boyfriend has told me plenty of times that he does this to get to sleep at night from time to time. He claims he occasionally gets "backed up" since we have sex like rarely (doctor recommendations) and this helps him relax.
