There are elements of this being an argument for/against point systems so ill add this...
If a point system is fair then it benefits everyone, its like cash, you earn it, you spend it, everyone gets paid for their time.
Hollie thinks this is unfair because people will quickly gain more points, well, yeah... People will gain more points... You don't get a part -time job, put in 15 hours then complain youre not getting paid the same as the fulltimers, thats bullshit.
HOWEVER, once you implement a point system the whole, "The gear belongs to the shell" crap goes right out the window, if that were true then you wouldnt need points since no one actually earns anything. Using the same analogy as above, if the part-timer is unhappy and quits, the employer can't say "Hey, we were kinda expecting you to stay around, so can you gives us back all the salary we gave you?"
Its nice to have loyal members that do like to see the shell do well, but jamal, face it, you and everyone else there, is there for gear. If the pieces were marginal at best do you think SnB would really be as successful as it is? hell no...
Its good that you have commitment values, its bad that you expect everyone else to have them.
Let the mail go, Hollie "earned it", and now hes gone, take comfort in the fact that he won't ever leave with something ever again.
