Lost Odyssey official thread

Completely in agreement here. I am thoroughly enjoying everything I've seen so far.

Yeah I'm at this one part I say reminds me of Medal Gear Solid... and I'm stuck lmao!! Sucks but it's such a wicked game (as were MGS') that idc I have tried a million times over, but I'm about rdy to start inviting over friends just to have someone get me past this spot.

No bosses after that get slightly easier. I beat that first boss at level 12 on second attempt by having jansen seth raise each other with stall tactics. Bosses after are more find the weakness kinda deal. Most have a flaw or secret you need to expose.

Yeah the second I had a good strat going, then I fucked with my own strat to the point where I had to go at it 8 times..; ; I picked my socks back up and reverted back to my original strat and ran threw boss 2 + lossing maybe a total of 400hp per char.

haha

He only used Downburst once at the beginning of the fight, and my characters still had full health and everything at the end of the fight.

Are all boss battles all based on the luck of the dice rolls?

This second boss battle is kinda tough too. If you level up your character the max for each zone, you should be ok though.

I was only @ 16 for #2, it probably would have helped to max my lvl.

After the first boss and the thing at grand staff, the bosses are all pretty easy

Well it depends, if you do extra side quest that has story elements in it you will take over 60 hours to completely beat the game. Took me about 80+ hours to clear it all and I still hadn't unlocked ultra class in the basement.

If your running straight story you will take over 30 if you know your way through the maps well. Because part of this game is getting lost in dungeons and I don't use strategy guides to find my way through. The longest disc is disc 3 imo and man is it long with all the CS alone.
yep first game i played in a long time where i didnt feel like i just wanted to rush to see how it ended, I did every little side quest, treasure hunt, item search i could do. Took me 75 hours to complete the story and i still have not completed the backyard and i need a couple bonus boss achievements, Hell this game was so damn good i FORGOT the game had achievements until way later when one popped up and i said "Oh yeah!".
Its that damn good! XD

Anyone else wonder if this will become like a FF series where each title has LO in the title with all new characters and story?

By god, it should. This game is heaven for us throwback RPG'ers.

Amen to that sir. Blue Dragon gets a sequel from Mystwalker so why not this gem?

I think it should. Hell you could even use the same characters since you have a long timeline to work with!

Would love to play the different 1000 year sections kaim has been through. Maybe as another main char. Someone important to that 1000 years and Kaim is like a sub char. Hell even if they use him as main forever its cool.

Maybe I'm a complete sap but I've caught myself tearful 3 times already. I'm maybe 1.5 hrs on disc two.

To see a series of these game with the intensity so far would be phenominal!! I love that it covers so many traditional RPG values, problem solving, mini quests etc. The bosses have been bitchin fun too^^ I yelled outloud "BOSS", so excited lmao like a kid again :)

Haha thats how I felt too, yes I teared up too at times. Even though there was no one in the room I still coughed and tried to play it off like it was nothing =P. You pointed out why I loved this game soo much, I connected with the characters. Its why I don't understand why gaming magazines are saying this game didn't have enough character development. It sure did have enough if my eyes are brimming with tears damnit lol.

Not that it's difficult to see but this game is full of sadness and despair understandably. Considering the story line and the lives encountered lived and lost I can't help but wonder how many more times I will be brought to tears. I (maybe it's a female thing) always seems to connect to the characters in a story. So yeah I'm thinking wonderful things.

I dunno if it so much as has something to do with you being a girl, more for the fact that Hironobu Sakaguchi the creator and Nobuo Uematsu the composer love to pull on heart strings =P.

Finally beat this game over the weekend. Amazing story. After leveling up to fight Fu and the Immortal one the end of the game was too easy but I can see how it would have been kind of difficult if I had done it at lower levels.

Don't miss the sidequests either, they add depth to the story. Oh and they're fun!

The only thing I have left to do with the game is get one spell master all skills with the immortals and find all treasure chests. I have about 80 hours of game play. The Eastern Ruins is great leveling 60-70+.

I'd owe it more to the award winning author they hired to write the Dreams. Don't get me wrong, the music and backgrounds during them are icing on the cake, but they're so masterfully written.

Your 100% right. Those memories were AMAZING.

So get this game if you're desperate for a good RPG?
