morrigan's robe on quetz.

Just tested:

cure 4 with nothing is 380
cure 4 with Cleric pants(+15 healing skill) is 382
cure 4 with blessed pants(+6 MND) is 384

The difference is because of rdm's lower mnd/skill than white mage, but stacking mnd/skill is useless on anything besides cure 5 for white mage; we hit the cap too easily.
there must be a point where mnd and healing magic hits a diminishing returns and the numbers go from 1 mnd to 3mnd per potency and from 5 healing magic to ~7 healing magic
What your healing magic at when you tryed the cleric pants?

I got the same when trying enhancing magic for bar/en 5 skill= 1 potency up mnd seem have no effect.

How did you not know that all cures have diminishing returns? Every cure besides cure 5 has a soft cap(30, 90, 180, and I'm not sure what cure 4 is, probably 380 based on my test), curing beyond that requires a shitload of +mnd/+skill and you get very small returns from it.

My healing magic has been capped for over 2 years, 276. 5 enhancing gave 1 elemental resistance; but for healing magic the cure 5 formula is the only one that matters and that's 3 skill = 1 hp.

Phail.

Bio is not elemental magic. So it's irrelevant to my post.
Dia dmg isnt affected by light staff noob

Enfeebles aren't elemental magic either, but Bio still sees a +10% benefit from having a Dark Staff equipped in the initial damage. And yes, Dia is. Maybe not Dia, because the damage is too small to notice, but Dia II and Dia III will show an increase with Light/Apollos on their initial hit, despite being Enfeeble and not Divine.

Either your a total fucking nerd (ie some type of math nazi) or you knew what I meant and just felt like being an ass.

Nice. Calling someone a nerd on a FFXI forum, lol.

Random statement of gameplay mechanics!

Elemental staves affect magical elemental damage of their element and the element they beat. Nukes based on elemental magic skill are by far the most common and most obvious example, but they're not the only way to do elemental damage. For all that it runs off enfeebling skill and for all that its damage number is *tiny*, Dia does in fact do magical elemental damage for its initial hit (which is why it can give a mob TP, while Poison etc. can't) which a staff can theoretically boost.

Even works on WS too: Try 300% Earth Crusher (on some sufficiently wimpy mob) with Earth Staff, with Wind Staff, and with any of the other six elemental staves. Earth Staff will be a 10% increase, and Wind Staff will be a 10% decrease, compared to the rest.

Tier 2 as in the new spells rdms use? WRONG AGAIN... Read the description, for Slow, Para, and Blind it adds 1 to the affect (potency) AND 2 FOR MAGIC ACCURACY.

You truely are a moron. Do me a favour, log on the game, and delete your character. Seriously, you make me seriously doubt you even merited RDM.

Slow II merit info from FFXI Wiki Merit Info said:
Each additional merit increases slow effect by 1 and magic accuracy by 2.

So what the fuck is your problem again? Or you pulling a page from the pchan playbook.

And yet you completely ignore an important part of it.

"Increases Xxx II effect by 1 and accuracy by 2".

Effect being the potency.

Seriously. Are you blind or just stupid?

He said that each merit is 1 potency/effect and 2 accuracy; you're saying he's an idiot and then saying the exact same thing.

how does chasuble +1 even remotely compare to the latter 2? it really pretty much sucks comparatively. total waste of money for lack of stats.

i use errant body + warlock tabard+1... wt+1 is arguably the best rdm body in game basically.

cos each one has a diffenrent use. Fist : nuke, 2nd enfeeblin/heal, third heal/debuff potency.

Don't make up shit now, you specifically said in the thread you didn't want to buy a "harby", I'm not looking for stuff to "argo" with you about, just commenting about you claiming to take pride in your gear.

When you asked about that EQ it had already been out almost a year, if it was superior to "harby" it would have been well documented by now.

Maybe he meant harpy...I mean I would want this:

Har·py /ˈhɑrpi/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hahr-pee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural -pies. 1. Classical Mythology. a ravenous, filthy monster having a woman's head and a bird's body.

Would be even kinkier if it were a woman's body with a bird's head

Thank you Baj... Maybe you need to go back to sleep Uzor or get your head out of your ass.

Except that the differences between the pieces are no where near as big as meat/sushi. The INT/MND would balance out with the accuracy of chasuble but also add some strength to the spells which makes chasuble worthless. Your theory is contradictory to well-known ingame mechanics and more accurate testing. I'd have to say your testing is flawed at best.

Chasuble is a shitty piece, Errant is easily better. You get the same accuracy as errant body, but without the 10 INT/MND boost to the strength of the spell.

Once again Int/mind accuracy is not proven and is assuption so it's not "well known" in game mechanics. Feel free to bring me tests.

It is not, however, *disproven* either, so the same could be said to you.

Your probably still better off with the mahatma. Like I said before you can pile on +45 elemental skill quite easily on other pieces so the +6 Magic Acc which is like an extra 4 elemental skill is negligible versus have an extra 11 INT to nuke with. Whether or not you believe INT affects magic acc.

Indeed, but unlike others i didn't say that the gear i don't use for nuke (Mahatma is this case) sucks for nuke. Just said it is ugly, which i think everyone here agrees about.

How about because it makes sense moron? Every other stat has a direct relation to a corresponding stat, there is no reason at all to think that INT/MND are somehow different. Your entire "point" is that you can't see the stat, so therefore it doesn't exist.

What about the people who have said they have good enfeebling rates as a BST/WHM, where the only stat that would help them is their MND?

You're basing your entire argument on a huge assumption that the game doesn't the same way in this one place as everywhere else, just so you can say a shitty body piece actually has some worth.

Pchan said that tier 2 merits are different, in that they add potency to RDM and accuracy to BLM. At which point Tomasello jumps out to say he's a moron and wrong.

So if Tomasello agreed with Pchan that they do add potency, why was he dissagreeing? or even insulting Pchan. Obviously, he either dissagreed, or he's a moron and don't know what he's saying in the first place.

Because, as I have mentioned, the No. 1 stat in the game is your level versus mob level. Otherwise a 75 RDM with 45 DEX and no accuracy wouldn't be able to hit a lvl 40 mob with no weapon equipped 95% of the time. I highly doubt a grand total of 22.5 accuracy would make you hit 95% of the time.

Because he(pchan) was saying that the Red Mage Group 1 merits increase Accuracy, and the Black Mage Group 1 increase Potency. Where as both jobs group two merits are reversed in which they increase.

Which is incorrect, since Red Mage merit spells increase in both with each rank. In a sense, he's wrong about Black Mage merit spells as well, which do give a potency bonus with each rank, but only during Magic Bursts.

A BST won't be fighting mobs 40 lvls beneath him. If you took your 40 dex with 0 acc enhancements against an EM monster, you would hit for very low accuracy. BST with a high MND set can land enfeebles on EM-T mobs because of the effectiveness of MND.

Just like a PLD/BST with a CHR+ set can charm fairly well.
