Staves don't affect the potency of Enfeebling spell effects (ie how much a mob is slowed).
Staves do affect the accuracy of Enfeebling spells (ie how many "Resist" messages you get where the effect doesn't land on the mob).
Staves also apparently affect the initial damage of Enfeebling Spells (although Dia/Dia II is the only Enfeebling Skill spell that does initial damage)

Skaw's post was part of a weird discussion about the semantics of a Pchan post and I don't think he was implying that it was altering his Enfeebling Skill...

A wide ammount of mobs sub WAR. Mandragoras are MNK/MNK, most beastmen are WHM/WAR, BLM/WAR etc.

Where are, however, a large ammount of mobs that do not sub WAR. These are mostly normal monsters and not beastmen.

Also i'd class myself as someone who has played this game for over 2 years who knows that there's far too much in this game for any one person to know all.

I'm not entirely sure that "posts bullshit which he claims to be true" is synonymous with "claims to know everything", but I could be wrong.

(Don't mind me, I'm largely staying out of this having long since made my points in this topic, but I may hop in from time to time to point out errors in plain old logic, factual inaccuracies about gameplay mechanics, or - as here - lack of reading comprehension. The last point seems to have been the cause of the whole Chainspell Raise argument in the first place as well, and with the same perpetrator too.)

That bullshit also happen to be true. That which you call bullshit are also statements of opinion, and most of the time, thye can't be neither right or wrong. Saying meriting DEX is better then STR on THF is a matter of opinion, you can't claim it as right or wrong. Saying that chainspell nuking is usefull is also a matter of opinion, and is neither right or wrong.

However, if Pchan said that 1 + 2 = 4, then he would be wrong. But I don't see him claiming that.

Saying chainspell raising in Xarcabard is useless is true, since for one, if you can't handle Xarcabard without wiping, there's no way you can handle Dynamis Lord.

He also stated that Tier 2 merits add to Potency for RDMes, which is also true.

He also stated that he think Chausuble is a good piece, which is neither right or wrong, as its a matter of oppinion.

Just because your opinion is different, doesn't mean its more true. Hence, the only one I see posting bullshit in this thread is you. Ironic, isn't it? Considering you're claiming to not know everything.

So in all honesty, untill you can actually see the difference between fact and opinion, right and wrong, and can actually build on atleast a decent argument, don't bother posting. Seriously, Sharpe. And no, my salvage thread was still not ment to be a lock and post. It was ment to be an informative post. The reason I argued with Skaw wasn't because he dissagreed with me. Its because what he argued about was completely irrelevant to the thread.
 
I was away camping/dirt biking this entire long weekend, it's kinda funny to see this thread's still goin on.

Anyway, I stated what I stated and I'm glad I left it like that. I said using Chainspell for that extension is a waste, which should automatically assume that using it for anything besides DL is a waste. Courtney supported the argument because CS—»Raise can be very helpful. That doesn't mean it's helpful for DL, lol.

I believe I also gave an example for what kind of situation it can be used in, like a Mijin Gakure after WHM's forget to use Barfira. I'm sure there are many more example to use, like an Orc NM strategy going wrong and charming/killing multiple people.

All in all, I'm replying here to write in stone.

Maybe I should make a topic explaining tips on how to argue *well*. Knowing what you're talking about is only part of it, reading and understanding the replies of others is another part (about which pchan has demonstrated a need for major practice - that whole Chainspell Raise argument was, after all, the result of a pretty big misreading on his part). Another key thing is admitting when you're either flat-out wrong, or you misunderstood, or you were working on partial and/or incorrect basis of information.

(Way too many people take "stick to your guns" *far* too literally when arguing, it has to be tempered by open-mindedness. If you believe you're right you should stick to your guns of course. But you should also keep an open mind to other arguments and actually listen to (or read, whatever) and think about them, and if they convince you that you're no longer right, it's time to abandon those guns and bow out of your position graciously. Or at least adjust it with provisional stuff like "if" statements. Rather than look like an idiot by repeating the same stuff over and over in absolute blanket statements.)
