Kakashi said that he created the Chidori because he failed to mix his Lightning Chakra with the Rasengan.

I think Konohamaru isn't a chuunin yet cause he's too stupid. He can't formulate plans well enough, even Naruto's better than he is at planning ahead in battle. So maybe he does well in chuunin exam battles, but fucking fails at being promoted to Chuunin cause they realize "he's a stupid little kid" (I hate Konohamaru if you can't tell :P)
 
Yeah, that's pretty rational Elemmire. "I hate this character we know very little about who has a collective appearance of 10 manga pages. 2 of them Funerals."

Naruto is actually quite good at planning ahead in battle. True, he does a lot of stupid shit, but he definitely pulls out some good plans.
 
Naruto is stupid, but he's smart when it counts.

Most of the time, his plan is "make a huge scene to divert their attention and get them from behind" which seems to trick even his allies who, for lack of a better description, think he's an idiot. If it wasn't for his shear overwhelming power, I don't think most of his "good" plans would succeed.

It was done unnecessarily over the top, and I thank god that Studio Perriot did it, since it was kind of underwhelming in the manga due to still images not really show that kind of activity.

hey, they didn't make Neji and others in the first Chuunin exam we saw Chuunins because they weren't as smart and able to plan as well as Shikamaru or at the level a Chuunin was expected. And since Konohamaru is a lot like Naruto, I'm going with the "he's too stupid to be a Chuunin yet" cause that was one of the same reasons they said "that Naruto and Neji guy are alright for Genin, but they don't have what it takes to be Chuunin" That was before time skip, mind you. So ya, that's my reasoning :P

Pain sucks out and apparently kills Shizune, then lets out some kind of Super Saiyan like aura that blinds everyone and nearly kills the anbu guards. Tsunade is fine.

Everyone in the village remarks the chakra of "death". Shino remarks that whatever is going on over there, even the bugs are running away.

Pain begins charging an attack, Konan desperately begs him to stop, because it apparently shortens his lifespan.

All of the other pain bodies release some kind of ability and die.

At the toad mountain, the elder frog finds out danzou killed that frog, and realizes something bad is going on. They attempt to summon the elder sage to get naruto back in time.

Back in konoha, pain uses a technique known as "Chou Shinra Tensei"

This is a massive blast on the scale of an atomic bomb. Tsunade uses slugs as a last ditch effort to shield the hokage's tower and most of the important characters but the vast majority of konoha is engulfed in the blast.

Sakura wakes up to a post-apocalyptic like konoha, with hundreds of dead villagers and ninja. The hokage tower is safe apparently.

She begins crying that naruto needs to come back.

Poor Konohagakure is getting distroyed more then Neo Toky.. oh.. someone said that already.

Damn, that was pretty much match point for Pain.

I did not see destruction of that scale coming. I wonder how Naturo is going to react...
