Anyone else a big NBA fan?

I've been out of it for a few years for a combination of two things.
1. The Celtics hadn't fielded a decent team in almost 20 years, lol.
2. Everyone and their brother was a major thug.

Luckily, young stars a la Wade and Bron-bron have helped reverse the thug trend a little (Still stuck with AI though.) and KG and Rayray have rejuved my beloved C's.

I honestly didn't think the Celts would be so fired up to defend their title this year, but they're looking amazing. A much improved Cavs team, with Lebron looking like he may end up being the greatest player to ever play the game, and the Lakers actually playing a bit more defense this year, it's gonna be a tough road, but I honestly believe that the Celts are playing the best ball right now. If we can beat out the Cavs and make it to the finals I'm sure we can beat the Lakers in the finals, but beating the Cavs will be very tough, for sure.

Also, I could see the C's beating the Bulls' mark of 72-10 this year, too.

Rondo is money. I think the Celtics might need like one more role player like Powe was last year, but other than that I don't see any reason they aren't in the Finals again this year. Probably against the Lakers. This must be a dream come true for the NBA with two of it's most storied franchises being so dominant, and I can't wait for the Christmas day game.

All this coming from someone who doesn't even watch alot of NBA. The action just doesn't compare to NCAA Basketball for me, though I love the storylines in the NBA, and can't miss matchups involving two superstarts (Lebron vs. Carmello, Kobe vs. D-Wade, etc.)

I used to be a huge NCAA fan but lately it's been real disappointing to me, heh. Part of that is I go to NC State, and get fuckin tired of hearing of how UNC is the best team ever(total bullshit) lol.

I agree with you though, they need another PJ Brown like last year. Rumor has it they're lookin at signing Motumbo, which I'd be okay with, him playing 10 minutes of defense per game.

Celts riding 17 in a row, woo.

I normally don't get to excited over pro basketball season. I'm not a Celtics fan but since last year I can't stop watchin' them, when they play I'm like an old lady watchin' her shows. I've caught myself neglectin' my Mavs to watch the Celtics.

As for my Mavs, they need to toughen up. As of now the best player they have, their Tebow effect, is a bench player and all of about 5ft. He's explosive and rough and I love it but if he's not on the floor the team plays like a bunch of pussies. J.J. Barea is FTW. The first night he got put in this season and started his reign I was sittin' with some court side seats and that little bastard had me lookin' like Mark Cuban. Pops had to repetitively remind me not to get to close to the court as he even had me fired up.

Big Lakers fan here. I think it's great that both them and the Celtics have returned. It's good for basketball.

Cavs are awesome too.

FUCK THE CELTICS, kevin garnett can kiss my asian ass. Lakers all the way baby. Would definitely like to see Lakers vs. Cavs in the finals though, I want to see a lebron/kobe rivalry moreso then a Lakers/Celtics Rivalry. Even though Orlando/Boston/Cleveland have pretty much an equal chance at the nba finals.

God, I always knew you were a fag, Hrono. ;D

Lakers are way overrated, IMO, they're a very solid team but they take nights off defensively, big time. The Cavs are the best team in the league right now, unfortunately. The Magic are still a step behind the Celtics and Cavs, as evidenced by that beatdown the Celts gave the Magic two nights ago. KG is a monster, even if he's a douche to rookies lol.

The team that gets home court in the East will have the inside track to the finals.

That's barring injuries though, which is by no means a certainty, seeing how many teams are dealing with them right now.

Well I wouldn't call them overrated because their offense can score on anybody, including the Celtics.

You're right about their defense though, they give up a lot of 98-105 scores, but then again, the Lakers almost always put up over 110.

I mean, not really... lol. In the finals last year the most they scored was 103, and even if you can score 103 on the Celtics, if you can't lock down on defense, you're not gonna win.

There is a big difference from last year to this year with the Lakers Shyrra. Andrew Bynum is healthy so far... He is simply incredible..

Now we can not say the oputcome of last years finals would have been different in the end.. But there are so many possabilities with a healthy Bynum.

He is realy only 21??? >.<

Lakers fans are overly in love with Bynum... if the dude would play hard on a consistent basis he could be a monster... but he's a slacker. He put up... what, 45 the other night? But the guy takes plays off all the friggen time, it's like watching Oakland Raiders' Randy Moss all over again... The guy has a ton of talent and athleticism, but no drive. I'm not a big Bynum fan.

I am no Lakers fan... Yet i know Bynum is on track to be the best big man in the game. He is only 21... Laker haters doubt him too much lol. He is the Lakers new franchise player.

Ew, no way lol, what are you smoking? Best big man in the game? Yeesh. Dwight Howard will always be better than Bynum, and Bynum isn't even the best big man on his team lol, even though Pau is a sissy.

Now shyrra... You just said Bynum is inconsistant and a slacker.. How can you then even try to mention D.Howard... Who is the freaking spokesman for slacking lmao.

Dwight is someone who has all this potential and blah blah to be a beast but is a slacker and beyond that a selfish player.. He is improving tho.

The fact is they are so easy to compare to each other and both have their stand out abilities. My opinion is Bynum will be better.

Too bad Lakers and Magic dont have another game together this year i think..

This is his first year as a true starter! Last year he got injured right off. The last three weeks, Bynum has been the most consistent center in the league!

Also, the Lakers are getting healthy. They've been giving up points the last month because their bench was decimated with injuries, and the starters were wearing down toward the end of the games. No bench even compares with the Lakers. Farmar (wbo's been out for 18 games!), Walton, Ariza, Vujacic, are by far the best bench. Hell they play over 8 minutes sometimes without going back to the bench when healthy. Also Odom has been injured and missed a ton.

These Lakers are much better then last year. The Celtics IMO are the same as last year. Still great, but not much improved, actually their bench has gotten weaker.

Kobe, while "only" the 3rd leading scorer in the league which is misleading, because he's done that averaging way less time then the two ahead of him is still the best pure scorer in the league. He dominates the perimeter and the paint. NO other player is the master of both. He's one of the best defensive players in the league, and in his last 5 games, he has over 50 assists.... This team is way different.

I fear the Lakers, don't get me wrong. When they actually play defense, they are as good as if not better than the Celtics, but I still don't think anyone can beat the Cavs. I know the Lakers have been suffering from injuries recently, but the defensive slacking started long before the injuries, unfortunately.

Being your first year as a true starter doesn't excuse being a slacker, lol. As much as I hate Kobe for being a thug, the dude NEVER takes a play off, just like LeBron, KG, the good ones. I don't give a crap about Kobe's scoring numbers either lol, his numbers are always going to be great, what's better about him this year is I've seen less of the "fuck you guys, you suck!" to his teammates (which re-emerged last year in the finals) and mores of the MJ-like "Come on guys, we can do this." Kobe has had a tendency in the past to berate his teammates because he recognizes that he's "The Man" on the team. He's got all the talent in the world, just needs the right mentality to go with it. Still think LeBron will eventually be better than Kobe ever was though, once he develops a shot.

Anywho, Go Celts, destroyed the crappy Ol' Mavericks yesterday.

lol and Kobe looks beat up as hell. Broken finger tapped up, eye tapped up, palm tapped up and still doing his thing.

Lakers have ran through the Cavs and Spurs recently which makes me happy. If Kobe keeps gets his PPG to around 20-22, they'll be super dangerous and win a lot.

Lebron is great, but no NBA player flops as much as him. Lebron can bring a game to a screeching halt sometimes!

I see what you're saying about Bynum, but he's young and young players do that sometimes. I haven't seem him slack in weeks though and maybe we're seeing him transform into a dominant center. He did great against Duncan last night, also the guy is a blocking/rebounding machine.

Clearly you've never watched Manu Ginobli play, lol

Aaah that whole team is like that though. Him and Duncan must get together and come up with new acts to pull on other players lol.

Lebron though has taken it to another level. Two games ago, he got bumped and flew to the ground and rolled around for a couple minutes haha. It was special.
