Nerf Treasure Hunter!!

I wouldn't say ultimate, but a pretty good example. If they can do it, so can we.

I dunno dude, now you are making generalizations w/o knowing the full story.
not generalizations....assumptions. a fairly safe assumption at that. if my whole ls completes cop missions at the same time, it would be a safe bet that we did them together...right?

if a whole ls such as the one mentioned has all the same characteristics, it would be a decent assumption to guess they did everything together. after all, who do u go to first to finish af, missions, etc.....ill give you a hint. it starts with the letter L and ends with an S.
that be the first place i start looking

I think my basic point here has been woefully lost to many who are for the blackmage nerf.

Different jobs, are geared towards different aspects of the game. I don't want MNKs nerfed on bones, I don't want THFs nerfed on NMs. I don't want ninjas nerfed on slow hitting mobs. I don't want blackmages nerfed on BCs. I don't want summoners nerfed on wyrms.

People spend time and effort setting up groups to take the easier stuf out more efficiently, and our time in sky becomes easier and faster.

This is NOT a bad thing.

Squaresoft should be working to give us new content instead of finding ways to push us deeper into the hole on old content. You want to spend forever in sky? You want Kirin to take 3 hours? Fine... don't use better, easier strategies. And stay in sky. I want to progress more in sea. I want new things to do and less month after month of the same god damn fights over and over again.

Nerf blm.... jeez. Nerf every strategy that involves using a job that's effective against a mob, what an idea. When you support the nerf, you support that you'd rather do the same content over and over again, with less options. With it more bland, longer and more like a job less of a game.

FUCK THE NERF!!!!!

Firestreak wants to nerf the nerf bat.

Wait... o_O

blm

acknowledged one of the most powerful
acknowledged that 6 blm can pwn, but not necessary how they envisioned it
try to make it so they play in regular parties more
but giving them more spells to "compensate" so it doesn't seem they are picking on blm

That doesn't neccesarily refer to an exp party. Party is only used in reference to a group of 6 players with goals ranging from experience to killing tiamat. So they could be targeting only specific BCNM, missions, exp parties or any other manaburn type setup. They did not specify which, but in my opinion the largest abuse is with the BCNMs. The rewards for 1 min of effort seems too great especially since the BLM offers nothing to make the BCNM possible, in other words the orb is someone else's. BLMs manaburn exp parties are no more abusive to the game than any other cannon. If anything, they are less so. A BLM is limited in the damage they can do based solely on the MP they posses and the chain is also limited by the max MP as well. I've seen manaburn parties work and they are neither extremely fun nor exceptional exp. To add insult to injury, they have a far greater failure rate than any other. BLMs die very easily and one death kills the exp. Basically what I mean to say, why would they nerf something that is basically inferior to begin with? I can get faster exp in a cannon with more reliability. Nerfing BLMs in exp parties will only make them useless entirely. They have no place in a cannon and in most cases BLM will not get invites into a standard exp party because they do not exist. If SE intended to nerf the job entirely, then they would need to make cannons also a thing of the past.

Now according to everyone(all the BLMs), I shouldn't bitch because it doesn't affect me when BLMs manaburn those runs and they don't make that much gil. To my knowledge the common practice is if V Claw drops, it's the orb holders and if it does not, everything else is split among BLMs and orb holder. So D Ingot, D Cloth and O Ingot are all split if no claw. So even if I am the lucky one to get any rare item, I get a 1/5-1/6 split versus 100% or my share of all the orbs present for a common run(not a very fair deal). Those are rare cases, but BLM do profit from them otherwise they would not bother doing the runs. Now here is where it DIRECTLY affects me. I want a V Claw, I want to do ODS to get my claw since it is the easiest and most effective way to get the claw without camping HNMs. But the thing is that KSNM is worthless, absolutely worthless now. The standard drops are worth 40k tops. I can do Copy Cat for atleast 200k and not worry I will go home completely broke afterwords, but then I have NO chance at a V Claw either my main motive. So either I hope to get a small chance at a VClaw or I go for a guaranteed chance at gil and a small chance at larger gil, but no chance at a claw the motive for doing the KS in the first place. Who do I blame? You bet the BLMs who over abused it for their own gain.

So, down with capitalism?

Ok, gimp the blm.

now, all the melee that wanted a v. claw are gonna do which ks30? the fights will go slower, but will v. claw drop rate increase? no. Will the drop rates for the belts decrease? no. Will the people that want the v. claw keep fighting that ks until they get their claw? probably. will this introduce the same % of belts that u speak of? probably. those belts are comon drops, they drop all the time. the higher end items such as the v. claw and o. ignot still go for a good amount.

just because blm wont be able to to the ks30(if the nerf causes a problem for it), its a very easy one to beat even with pld tank. just need to use tactics and skill to win. not a big deal. its not as hard as it seems

So we're back to this one damn BC you're bitching about.

Here's a news flash: BLM get Kindred seals too. I've done this a few times as BLM, always using my own seals, just a group of 6 of us all using seals.

Any common drop that's attached to a BC with an expensive rare drop is going to go down in price, regardless of how fast it is to beat the BC.

It's a simple fight and ANYONE could do it without the help of BLM. If people are willing to concede a portion of their gil split it's because time is more important to them than petty change. Don't forget it's not just the fact that they're all BLM and the fight is very quick, there's also the added bonus that the person giving the orb only have to stay for that one fight. To do it a traditional way, you'd have to fight it 6 times for each person's orbs. The Ks30 cannon seems to be about delivering a service to people. The service is allowing them to use their seals without having to spend that time. What is happening is people who don't really have time, or care to spend their time doing the KS cycle can burn their seals.

It's kind of like saying you want to close the borders because the competition is cutting into your profits. The fight is a win no matter how you fight it, the BLM just open up new competitors.

Which is to you, the minority a disadvantage. To the economy as a whole, a great thing, especially if it increases the supply of V claws, allowing more people to get their scorpion harness. Prices dropping have people who lose but usually many many more people who gain.

Not even gona read just gonna point and laugh... lol the nerf really isnt gonna be that bad guys, SE wont screw up twice, just relax.... but I love to see all the BLM in here that told ranger to shutup...

Have I told you guys that I love you?

Maybe the new SE fix will put Ranger and BLM even in dealing damage, because that is both solely our jobs on most mobs... niether of us have Evasion, HP, Defense, anything on our side other than damage

The point eludes you. Even if I am not one of the masses of players who want a guaranteed win, the rewards is no longer there. The only rewards in that KSNM are rare drops and I am guaranteed squat. 40k for a single run isn't worth wasting an orb on. Granted I have a chance at a V Claw with or without the BLMs but the problem is the cost/rewards ratio is no longer there. It's either a nothing and small chance at claw or 200k and no chance at claw. Without having 10 orbs, there is no guarantee I will get a claw and even then there is a chance claw does not drop. So which do I chose? Chance at V Claw or small amount of guaranteed gil which I can put forth into buying a claw? Before the KSNM was totally abused, the choice would have been guaranteed gil AND a chance at claw.

I got your point, I replied to your point. You skimmed my reply and didn't notice it.

In all manaburn KS runs, the orbs are never provided by the BLMs. To me, this is nothing but a free ride for the BLMs. You provide some little task that only a BLM can do and make huge rewards off it. To me, this is no different than the casinos in lower jeuno. Someone trying to get rich off someone else's laziness. It happens all the same, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable.

I also don't see how I should work my ass off for a hard earned win in DM while some BLM gets the earring handed to him or her. Where is the fairness in that? Those earrings are the most coveted in the game and any BLM can just basically press enter and it's his/hers, but any other job and it takes countless deaths before you get the hang of that fight. Please tell me the fairness in that?

Aren't you the same kid who said a year ago when the exp caps were lowered, that this changes the game and lowers the value of everything? So does this mean my DM earring is better than a BLMs? There is a lot more effort involved into getting me an earring over a manaburn, so does that mean mine is more special? Nope, guess it's still the same.

First off, a lot of assumptions made. Before I answer your question, a point to be made. In your posts you say BLM a lot, as if every BLM on the server got their DM earring off of a 18 BLM setup. I did not(though I have done the BLM alliance setup for fun). You assume every BLM that has used a BLM party to so KS30 used other people's seals. I have never. It would appear to me, that somewhere in the range of 10 or so on this server do. Which is, if you look at how many BLM there actually are on this server, damn near insignifigant.

To answer your question, which brings up a good point.

Is your DM earrring more or less functional as a result of how others get it? No.

Is it more or less valuable based on how others get it? No.

Is it more or less valuable based on how others POSSIBLY can get it? Yes.

So even if you got your Divine Might earring before the first BLM alliance did it, which I highly doubt, it's still the same BC it's always been. It's always been worth that much or potentially that little effort. Unlike the exp shift, that made the move from 50-75 easier. If Thundaga 3 was introduced after you got your earring, or the BC was somehow changed, then yes you got fucked over by my standards.

But that's a cop out answer, functional but not the truth, and my standards are actually higher than that. You are right, it diminishes the value.

And I would fully support modifying Divine Might so that the BLM alliance strategy wouldn't work. It's the BC that's broken, not the job.

And in this hour, where you use that argument, I wonder, what were your posts on the exp-modification debate? I don't know what it is, but your ability to piss me off is making me guess you were all for that exp nerf.

Is divine might hard in the first place? No it is not.

Would I support changing the DM fight so that BLM can't just own it? Yes. Doe

Nah, there's just vague 2nd hand statements from people who took notes at the FFXI festival press conference. There are nondescript ideas about making manaburns less appealing while making blm more useful in 73+ parties. On Allakazham, there's a growing number of festival-goers who deny SE threatened Blm in the first place. Some people even think Blm is going to get a boost and not weakened at all. The most common speculation is that multiple castings of elemental magic in a short duration will have diminishing effects. Who knows... At the moment, I'm kind of indifferent on the issue. I'm split between resenting the bandwagon and not wanting to suck. A nerf wouldn't affect me with my current plans for 75, but it's not good to burn bridges. Still, I don't want the reputation that comes with being the job of the month.
