I'm kinda fed up with alot of the thread crapping that happens at Killing ifrit (Don't stop reading, this isn't a rant!). I thought since most people on here have very good views on the general goings on in this game, I thought it would be nice to have a serious chat about the new jobs that will be coming out.

I think nearly everyone knows about BLU now, if you don't, WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN? But I've always wondered what their 2hr might be, and even how this system of learning the mob's abilitys will work.

But, anyone who has seen the new aht urhgan (probably a typo, it's such a strange name >.>) might have noticed there is more than enough room for 2 - 3 jobs more on the new jobs page ( http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/ahturhgan/ ). What do you guys think SE will add into the game, and what sort of features / functions will these new jobs bring not only to low level gaming and partying, but also higher levels and HNMs et cetera.

There has been alot of speculation especially over time mages, and geomancers. My understanding of Time mages is a little askew. I always saw them as just casting stop, haste, slow and those sort of de-buffing spells. But they also have an offensive side, which, if implemented would be too powerful and would knock the balance of job's powers out of the (sort of) equilibruim that they're at now. The spells that are a cause for concern with me are spells like: Demi, death, and an Exit / Banish type of spell. I'm sure there was a spell on FFVII which would swallow the mob up into the ground, effectively killing them off, but wouldn't give experience points, money and items. I could see this possibly being a two hour, perhaps making the monster respawn in their origional spawning grounds (So that doing this on nms just to piss people off wouldn't, y'know, piss people off).

Thats my brief thoughts on how SE *might* implement TMM or TMG or whatever the abbreviation for it will be, if they decide to add it in.

Now I'd really love to hear some of everyone else's opinions on possible new jobs, and other new update stuff to be added.

Cheers :D

PS: [grammarnazi]Please don't post something like: "I TINK DAT BLU WIL B SIK" or something equally as dumb, I'd rather not strain myself to mentally correct someone else's lazy abbreviations and grammar.[/grammarnazi]

I really don't know about Geomancer and Time Mage, I can't see myself playing either of them. Would be nice to find out what the new jobs will be though.

Oh and Blabj I miss you :( lol.

I TINK DAT BLU WIL B SIK

But seriously i think/hope SE will bring a new Melee/Tank job in to play, We need another Tank job in my opinion. But the 3 new jobs that Zilart brought into play were all melee i think SE might be leaning towards more mage jobs.
I cant wait to see how all this works out though.

Yeah, I'd heard something along those lines aswell sprig. I think this update will be more mage orientated, because currently we're out numbered quite a bit.

Still, keep the ideas flowin' :P

Ps: Cleo, I miss everyone in the LS too ; ; I want back in! But school... BAH! Ah well, it was a snow day today hehe.

Anything with some kind of Refresh ability i'm sure would be welcomed since BRD and RDM are the only ones in that category. Possibly a new style of tank job also would be a cool addition.

But i'm sure it will be dissapointing if they make BLU and/or the other new jobs just another form of DD ; ; Not like we dont have enough already :/

BLU is going to be a BLM-style job, just with the ability to melee with swords as a rdm. That much we know for sure from the 1up interview.

As for the other jobs, it's hard to say. I would like to see an addition of a new kind of support job and/or tank, and seeing as how SMN are getting new avatars (Diabolos and Bahamut i believe), they might be able to do support more too.

I can see Geomancer as being a support job more than a tank job, and the same goes with Time Wizard.

However... Time Wizard has in the past been able to cast one really nice spell. {Stop}

Imagine exp'ing without needing a tank? :o

As much as I'd kill for Mimic (<3 the idea of AF..), I don't think it'd be possible without a LOT of crap being too strong, not strong enough...etc etc..

I heard GEO would be a tank type job if it was added, using elemental shields to reduce damage received and other mumbo jumbo.

personally id like to see a Necromancer, using the undead to fight for them would be fairly cool.

Doesn't sound interesting to me :(

::crosses fingers for pirate::
Should anyjob like Pirate be realeased, I'm on it ;o
I know someone was saying something about the pirates on the ship being the equalvalent to Necromancers...but that's allright as long there's an eyepatch!

GEO could be a tank, but wouldn't their shileds have to come from the zone their in? If so...I dont see Snowshield blocking a lot of damage from rabbits or tigers in Ulge(tab) range, or for that matter Fireshield blocking a lot of damage from Bombs, in say Ifrits.

I see BLU as a solo job. Imagine, BLU/NIN with beetles evasion boost, and you could be good at soloing.

Viking!

An illusionist could be nifty though.

necromancer would be shweet, a new tank job would be interesting, but what if there was a job that would allow the character to change/mimic a mobs ability almost like the blue mage but way more melee

but thats just me:)

I had heard Dancer tossed around earlier as a party buffer and I think that would be an excelent choice. Granted it seems exactly the same as BRD but we still need more buffers.

you know - if they made a job with refresh like abilities that was actually FUN to play people might do it.

Maybe not a refresh/support but a refresh/dd... hmm...

anyhow - regardless of that I think the idea of a time mage could offer many interesting possibilities to the game if they actually built it from thre ground up and didnt just slam the old job into the new game.

oh and I'm sorry but the idea of a Pirate job is so gay that I will seriously consider just quitting. Ruin the medieval motif of the game? No thanks.

Or it could play out like this, they have some sort of catalyst item they can use similiar to a NIN tools to cast their Ninjitsu, that has a specific element attached to it and able to cast abilities from that element no matter what terrain they're in. Such as like a chunk of ice equipped to ammo slot and they were able to cast Ice based spells in Garlaige or w/e. Anyways if GEO were just based on terrain the job would be odd, so possibly the elemental tool idea, who knows though. I just want SE to give more info on ToAU heh.
Also their shield could only be one element they used to lessen damage, probably an Earth based spell if anything, and since all areas have earth in them, Uleguerand could be snow/earth, Ifrits could be fire/earth, Garlaige is built out of earth, etc.
