Newbies Coming to Jeuno Rant

You're able to walk to Jeuno and ,if you're careful, you don't have to fight anything. So on the flipside, you can walk back to any of the starter towns from Jeuno.

Offer them a Free Teleport-Dem, so they can go to Wadi and Farm the item needed. I bet you they will refuse.

Uhg I hate beggers, especialy isestent ones. Now there is a diffrence from gtting asked, "Excuse me I ahve no gil, how on earth do I get these greens other then the AH" and "Gimme gil". So many people want something for nothing it hurts my brain. Don't people realize there is no way to make craploads of gil with no effort? Noobs seem to think that there is some item they can buy at one shop and sell at another for profit or some crap...

My point is this. Noobs don't know and we all were Noobs when we started playing. Chargeing 1 k for one clump of this grass is Bull. I swear where is the love in this game. I help people in my linkshell when I can farm this grass when they are about to do this quest.

When the AH starts accepting love for my armor upgrades in such, that's when I'll start giving 1k items away for free as a habit.

I myself hate begging so yeah I see your point on blasting people for begging for gil or powerleveling. I hate seeing people getting blasted for just being new to a game the most and not knowing. Just my two cents.

Well, IMHO, one has to have an internet connection to have this game. They have every opportunity to find this site, Allakazam, or hell, even GameFAQs.

With all the FREE. GODDAMN. INFO. available over the internet, excuse now equals zero.

A lot of n00bs haven't even read the manual. That's the attitude that makes them n00bs. If they were just inexperienced, they'd be newbies.

I think there's a difference in begging and in asking.

Begging: Constant bother; won't take no for an answer; just bother and bother and...

Asking: A 1 time thing, and will take NO for an answer.

Even if you are a n00b, newbie, or Nub, or whatever, you do have common sense (hopefully :D ) and some type of proper behavior (hopefully :D ) and if a person says NO, then FUKKIN' STOP BEGGING!
Just say thanks and move on.

Because there is normally (hopefully for the beggar :D ) someone who has a soft spot and will help a person out.

Thanks! ^_^
:D

Noob vs newbie
A newbie is someone who is new and lacks actual experience, usualy fairly polite.

Noob, nub, and n00b, all stand for the same thing, basicaly stupid dumbasses who lack common sense and are persistent in thier demands.

Actually, my friend has an internet connection for FFXI but no computer.

I kid you not.

This is why I think they should put a web browser in the PS2 version of PlayOnline.

Or your friend should come into the 21st century. ^_^

Everyone quick run to Norg it will take them awhile to get there  then if they get there then we run somewhere else that is secluded like Raboa hehe

I guess I got lucky then. I went to Wadi to farm for grass but I had no map so I just went to Bastok bought the grass for 600 gil apiece and hiked up to Jeuno. I did the quest and rode all the way back to San D'Oria and started farming for a bit.

I'll admit that I'm still new when it comes to somethings in this game. I've been playing since Aug. and I'm only a LVL 23 WAR and a LVL 13 MNK. I'm never in a LS for too long because I never really talk to people in the LS. They're so far advanced than me, or they don't have time to help me out. I've been in some really bad parties that had no idea what they were doing and because of that, I solo a lot. If i ever have a problem with a quest or mission, I'll ask someone who's done it before or I'll go online and double check to see if I'm doing something wrong.

As for begging? You shouldn't have to do it. I've never begged for anything and I seem to be getting by just fine , even if crafting levels suck.

i gave this "newbie" some gil after asking me about how the chocobo quest works. said he didn't have any gil, so i felt sorry for him and gave him 10k to start off. i didn't mind, cause i knew how it was back when i first started. anyhow, he asked if he could save me as a friend, and i didn't have a problem with that. anyhow, day in and day out since then, all he has asked me is more money. i said, "look, listen... i helped you out cause i felt sorry for you. but don't try to save me on your friend's list just so you can send me tells begging for money all the time. i helped you out. now help me out and stop asking me for gil." haven't heard from that player since. that's why i've been a little more sturn on things when ppl either ask for money or for help. i've actually seen a few ppl on this site send me tells for help.. which i don't mind at first... but i get tired from the million tells a day asking for certain things.

Jeuno is no worse than when I went to Kazham the other day to try to level my blm. Whilst hanging around the chocobo stand, I see a curious emote: <somemoron> takes a dump in the bushes.
I knew I was in for a bad night when I saw that. I would tell you the guys name, but I can't remember. It had a z or a v in the middle, and he was a rdm around level 27.
Bad night.

Well, the way I see it, these people fall into the

Oh, I think I've grown up now. I can leave my small little hometown in hopes for a bright future in the grand city of Jeuno. I'll pack up my bags with nothing but my hopes and dreams. When I get to Jeuno, everything will be perfect, I'll get a nice chocobo, (the latest model of course), and the people will be friendly, and I'll get a nice place.

Then reality sinks in....you get to Jeuno, EVERYTHING is more expensive than the three smaller cities, people are in a hurry to go everywhere. People are peddling their wares at jacked up prices. The chocobos are more expensive. And basically, if you don't have any money...it's going to be a long walk home. You should basically be saving up for your whole first 20 levels to get your butt to Jeuno, or do what normal people do....fill your gamer head with knowledge so you can survive in Jeuno, ie: get your supplies BEFORE you go to Jeuno.

If you find that nice person in the city that's willing to help you, well, we have a good story. However, I don't think there are many people who are willing to give some random person WHO HAS been able to make it to Jeuno large amounts of gil.....you aren't a no sub job newb anymore.

With that being said, I sound a bit harsh but that's basically what it sounds like. Small townsfolk who aren't prepared for the trek to the big city..lol.

I do give random acts of kindness though. If I see a level 1 newb with that sad little question mark over their head....I chat it up with them and give them 1000 gil if they're cool....1000 gil is like a million dollars at that level..lol.

Dont' get me wrong, I agree, beggars are annoying people who PERSIST askign you.. I don't mind the random /tell, but they better accept my no when I give it. I prefer helping people get money rather than just giving it to them.
