But you can control him instead of Leonard.
Alright, after playing in the field I'm a little frustrated by the control of my partner. I want him to be an auto tank. I have provoke set to number 1 but don't know how to get him to use it. I put him on auto but that didn't work. I tried making a combo out of provoke but it can't be put in combo's.
Any idea how to better control your companion?
Characters not under your control seem to not stick to abilities you put on the command bar, in other words, they can use their entire arsenal. The best way to handle it is to multitask. So far I have had no problems out of getting my healer to heal (curin' status ailments is another story) , so that is one role you'll not have to worry so much about. My avatar is a tank build, and I control as him mainly, but when I fight large enemies Leonard can't combo unless I do it. I'll sick my guy on the mob first, get some hate, do my combos and then when I run my guy out of juice I'll swap to Leonard. To be honest though, I haven't ran into a situation yet where a tank was needed with the exception of boss fights in which case you bring out the knight.
Their use of abilities is fine, but their pathing is fuckin' awful. You'll attack a mob and ten years later one of your "battlemates" may join you if there isn't a tiny pebble under their feet, if they aren't ranged that is.
So you hit select and then switch to your other character all the time? I find that a pain in the ass to do.
Other then this battle comfort issue I have, it's a beautiful game.
Okay, the event when you turn in the Firestone was pretty funny.
