And just for comparison sakes:
FFVI Odin(horns):

FFVI Raiden(Notice the ponytail):

Or mebbe they'll have to battle each other, perhaps Alexander isn't going to be included with ToAU at all, but the expansion after, who knows though. But one thing is for sure, it'll be great seeing Raiden after 5 FF's, if he is to be included into XI.

You know, i just watched the trailer again, and it reminds me of something. Back when FFX-2 came out the played a trailor for it on TV. At the very end of the trailor the showed the final boss of the game in something of a vague flash. This seems almost like the same thing. Anyone else agree?

To see the trailer I'm refering to go here: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/finalfantasyx2/media.html and click on the "watch it now" button next to "Final Fantasy" X-2 Trailer 1

Some have significantly changed, like Garuda who wasn't ever a summon but still the figure completely changed. Sure the whole "light/dark" thing may be true, but the fact that Alexander AND Odin alike are both the remaining Celestial Avatars, I doubt they'd tell Alexander to go take a hike and let Odin steal the show. Most likely a conflict will erupt between the two if they're both in it, but again, just because pasts FF have depicted something as this and that, doesn't mean this one can change the course of it, for better or for worse, it won't matter.

Again, I'm not saying you're wrong, because you have a good arguement, so I'll go along with you for a bit, but I still have my mind set on the whole Alexander thing. I'd like to go into furthur discussion though.

Garda -was- a Summon either in FF2 or Tactics don remember which

My bad, I forgot Garuda was a summon before, but my point was the appearance completely changed, not what the role of the thing was.

She's still green =P lol well Appearances don't completely change. They do change around a bit and jump around like that but they all naturally hold the same concept of what the summons supposed to look like.

Changing a castle w/ wings into a man on a horse is what I'd call a -drastic change-

That's also true. But remember, it's also completely changing how Odin looked. Just because it's a man in armor, doesn't nesicerrily mean he meets the requirements for Odin. Odin's past looks usually always included: No arm protection, showing his skin, his face was showing, he had longer horns and in a more odd shape. He was also very dark, and his steed was brownish with plate mail on. Go compare the FFVI Odin, with FFVIII Odin, FF Odin Art, and the FFXI Odin art (the top man on the horse), they're all almost exactly the same.

Or maybe the dude in the poster was never Alexander to begin with, and Raiden instead, like I posted earlier in this thread :P

I already accepted that it is probably not Alexander unless S-E wants to do those drastic changes, and it probably is Raiden. Tymon and myself discussed it, but I'm fairly sure it's not Odin himself, although it could be.

Speaking of Alexander, I don't see him on the map at all, except maybe a snidbit of a white castle on the far left side, maybe SE is never going to include him in FFXI.

No question about it, defiently odin...... oh god... Im gonna get one hit sliced and killed.......

It's Raiden, like the image above, you kiddies need to play a Final Fantasy that came out before the Playstation.

Odin... not Raiden.... Tat was once and honestly whenever I play that silly game over I dont turn him into Raiden. Why you ask,personal preference and really... come on.... it's Odin.

Now watch, tomorrow it will be annoced they decided to call him raiden this time......

Odin's never been masked, nor has he had an unfeatureful face. He's always had a distinguishable look.

Not to mention if it were Odin, I'm sure Square wouldn't leave out Sleipnir. That alone would be like releasing a Final Fantasy, with a character named Cid, who had nothing to do engineering or mechanics.

Now just cause you cant see the horse dont mean it doesnt exsist.. the ah camera could just be between him and the horsey. And the mask........ yeah I got nothing..... except that SE took liberties with his appearence making his head have an antler/horn helmet like thing instead of the traditional eagle helm/hood/cap (he had lots of head gear) therefore what is not to say they simply adjust it once again.... for dramatic effect (i need to go to bed, this is gettin silly).

Ok I will admit it is mostly wishful thinking on my part for odin (it was Odin in ff7 that made me spend the money on a ps1 way back in the day... when i was in high school) but hey, Odin is the quitinsential badass, sure Fenrir defeated him in the end, but at least it wasnt that pansy Loki.

Odin has horns, Not Alexander. I remember Alexander being this massive castle too :3

if you look at that map thing Alexander is a Knight (unless that was Raiden) like Odin :P I think it could be Alexander too.. but who knows.. I'll just wait and see (and <3 my chocobo breeding)

no such thing D: /sarcasm

hehe.. Raiden would be cool ^^

Maybe Odin and Raiden duking it out in a mission :P

My reasoning for Alexander in the first place was the fact that it would be odd to implement a castle-type figure, so they would drastically change it into more of a "light knight"-type figure instead, but again, that's just what I've thought of.

As for Odin, he's always looked the same (to a point atleast) in each FF he appeared in, unmasked, same looking armor, long-odd looking horns, and in the art it's the same as well.

However, it does look like Raiden because the horns do indeed match the same as the image, as well as the armor color. But enough of that, we'll have to wait 1 month to see the truth, probably alittle longer for the accual appearance.

I think the Summon avatars are too humanoid at the moment, we need some badass freaky monsters, I would rather see cerberus before Odin.
