Playstation 3 Glitch Found in Japan release! (No discussion about wii or gtfo)

I don't get why so many people complain about the cost of a PS3. Granted that most won't work to their fullest capacity straight out the box, but if they did, $600 would be a great price for what is to be gotten.

Lets compare it to the Premium 360, just for the sake of comparing.

Now the 360 is not HD ready, has a 20 gig hard drive, will play a decent amount of Xbox games, wireless internet not included. We will leave it at that for now, even though there is other stuff.

The PS3 is HD ready. To get the 360 to just play HD-DVD's, you need to buy a $200 player. That already makes the $400 pack up to the $600 cost of the PS3. Then to get the 360 to be wireless for internet play, it is an additional $100. Not only that, but PS3 will soon be fully 100% backwards compatible. It isn't yet, but software issues can be fixed and I am pretty sure Sony will be able to do it. Then just throw in the fact that PS3 has Blu-Ray, and that makes the system well worth it. Then the fact that it has a Linux OS allowing full PC capabilities, and also an Opera web browser built in to allow you to go online like you would at your home PC.

Anyone who says the PS3 is overpriced hasn't looked at the fact that what you get is worth way more than what you pay.

But that is if Sony can make it work 100%.
It'd be worth the cost if they had any games worth playing...:nyam:

Edit: I don't have a HD TV and I don't really care about an Ethernet cable on my floor, so I'd be saving $300 by not getting crap I wouldn't use, so it's still not a good deal for the money.

Just wondering, does the PS3 STILL have Linux, or was Sony just full of shit again? And, remember Lanien, while all of those features are nice, people want the PS3 for mostly just one thing. Games. And, very few people will pay $600 for one game console, the past has proven that.

PS2 has a Linux kit that runs fine. Yes PS2

As for PS3 ....

If the machine proves to be a superior processing unit, i'll shit you not when i tell you PS3 will be used to make movie FX and video games by running 3D apps with the Linux. As opposed to doing it on PC. Render time is brutal, and the PS3 may be the next computer to lower the length.

y helo ter opinion :P

and Lanien ftw! See!! pointing out good qualities. The PS3 will be worth it if there are no serious problems (software problems can be fixed easily enough with downloaded patches, fine by me). And the only thing then would require the game companies to take full advantage of the PS3's abilities. Hell, it took a while for the companies to truly take PS2 to its full capacities. I really can't wait for White Knight, Assassin's Creed, GTA IV (current title), FFXIII, MGS 4, I assume they'll make a dead rising or some version of it for the PS3, capcom's not been "one system only" for awhile now.. even with resident evil 4 originally being GC only they made a PS2 version as well, and some other good games. It seems it'll have tons of fun games by the time I'll finally feel like buying it.

I love you.

Elemmire mode: omg ur playing the same franchises over and over again.

Assassin's Creed will have a 360 release as well.

But yeah. They should've had a basic PS3 model. And by that, I don't mean the one they're providing. One without the browser, the wireless, one without an HDMI cable(oh wait lolz.)

Seriously, no hard drive being "basic" when theres a lot of useless junk they could cut out before that is being "retarded." They could have very easily priced a basic model at $400 by removing the things people use their PC for or those that don't care about wireless over ethernet cables, as well as the majority of users not having an HD TV.

same franchise doesn't bother me.. same game over and over as mario and zelda have tended to be (other than a few zelda games which differed greatly and the mario sport spin-offs) that does bother me. Twilight Princess interests me cause it seems to have a much different story than SNES, NES, OOT Zelda games. Mario, I just don't care anymore :|

and that I do agree with skaw, they could've cut other things out it seems to make it cheaper before something more useful but *shrugs* most will buy the 600 anyways it seems..

I dunno.. GTA series from 3 onward seems to be the same thing.. except the areas are bigger and you got to use a boat and copter.. but basically.. the same thing. But as long as it sells.. companies don't care. I think every system has some kind of game that 'never changes'

same gameplay, sure, different areas, different characters (some repeating) and different stories (they do actually have stories you know >.>). So that's what I like. Though, GTA has been getting dull to me as of late, if GTA IV doesn't seem to really show a nice change I prolly won't care to get it (or if i do get it, any GTA that follow).

Heh, forgot to mention that part.

If the first reason I am not getting a PS3 yet is that I don't want a broken system, then the 2nd reason is that there won't be any great games yet. Resistance looks pretty good, but besides that, there isn't really anything that great yet.

Ele mentioned Assassin's Creed, which is 360 also. MGS4 is rumored to be 360, FFXIII is rumored 360 and Wii, though I don't know if the Wii can handle it. GTA4 is already confirmed to be on 360. And WTF is White Knight? lol Do you mean Heavenly Sword?

Um FFXIII on Wii? Anyways, XIII was developed using an engine developed by SE for exclusive ps3 game development, the White Engine, so idk if we'll see a multi console release, maybe it'll be one of the spinoffs exclusively on Wii, like FFXIII Versus or the one in development for cellphones, I have heard there's at least 2 more FFXIII spinoffs in development.
As for White Knight Story, it's a game in the works for PS3 by Level 5(people behind Dark Cloud 1/2, DQVIII, Rogue Galaxy) look it up, it looks amazing. As for MGS4 on 360, we'll see in the future, but wouldn't suprise me if it ends up PS3 only still, after all EGM has been known to be full of rumours that never happens.
