It'd be worth the cost if they had any games worth playing...:nyam:Lanien said:I don't get why so many people complain about the cost of a PS3. Granted that most won't work to their fullest capacity straight out the box, but if they did, $600 would be a great price for what is to be gotten.
Lets compare it to the Premium 360, just for the sake of comparing.
Now the 360 is not HD ready, has a 20 gig hard drive, will play a decent amount of Xbox games, wireless internet not included. We will leave it at that for now, even though there is other stuff.
The PS3 is HD ready. To get the 360 to just play HD-DVD's, you need to buy a $200 player. That already makes the $400 pack up to the $600 cost of the PS3. Then to get the 360 to be wireless for internet play, it is an additional $100. Not only that, but PS3 will soon be fully 100% backwards compatible. It isn't yet, but software issues can be fixed and I am pretty sure Sony will be able to do it. Then just throw in the fact that PS3 has Blu-Ray, and that makes the system well worth it. Then the fact that it has a Linux OS allowing full PC capabilities, and also an Opera web browser built in to allow you to go online like you would at your home PC.
Anyone who says the PS3 is overpriced hasn't looked at the fact that what you get is worth way more than what you pay.
But that is if Sony can make it work 100%.
Edit: I don't have a HD TV and I don't really care about an Ethernet cable on my floor, so I'd be saving $300 by not getting crap I wouldn't use, so it's still not a good deal for the money.
