PS3 is hurting!

hay guyz gud gamz onlyy uze eigt pixles!!! high daf bawd gameplay!!!

Nobody but you is suggesting we're saying HDTV is bad for games and we'd prefer lower quality graphics. We're just saying HD doesn't make games UBAR.

Just because HD doesn't make a mediocre game awesome, doesn't mean SD makes an awesome game mediocre.

Edit: Goddamn, that sounds awkward reading it back to myself. Hooray for 4:30 AM. I need to sleep. ; ;

It's all about as dumb as the suggestion I think a mediocre game on PS3 is awesome cause it's in high def.

Resistance, Motorstorm, Virtua Fighter 5, Fight Night 3, NHL 2k7

Preordered Oblivian, Enchanted Arms, MLB: The Show and Armored Core 4 because they will be fun. The fact that they're high def isn't really a selling point, I think the games I've listed sell themselves on their own merit. It is however an aspect that justifies for me the 60 bucks I'm spending on each game. Sure, there are games out there that are trying to sell themselves on visuals alone, like Genji, but nobody is buying that game. The point is if I can get the best gameplay for a system, I'd just assume get it on a powerful machine that makes me go, "wow" everytime I see the visuals.

Not to mention Blu-ray to watch movies is great, and I know you're all "gamers" and don't care about movies, but the fact is most gamers happen to be movie watchers as well, like myself, and I think blu-ray is a much better experience in terms of watching movies.

I have... Terminator 1, 2, Casino Royale, X-men 3, Rambo, Memento, Talladega Nights, The Departed, Superman Returns, Black Hawk Down, Tears of the Sun and Sleepy Hollow. These are great movies because they're great movies, just like the games were great games before they were in high def.

I'm willing to pay more to see those movies in high def and play those games in high def. Luckily for me, I'd have wanted to play them and watch them before they were high def.

By the way Cubswoo, I checked the sales index and you're incorrect about Superman Returns.

It's neither the number one seller of HD format and Blu-ray is leading in superman returns sales. In fact Blu-ray leads in all dual releases, except Mission Impossible 3.

This here pretty much cements that HD DVD is going to die, the actual sales data from a whole lot of different angles.

Which means I can be pretty confident the blu-ray player in my PS3 has long-term function in terms of a movie player. It's only a matter of time til Universal goes to both formats and then blu-ray is going to be able to pick a fight with DVD.

Firestreak, you keep saying that armored core 4 will be good and fun, but have they fixed the crippling problems with the gameplay? Namely that the mechs are slow, the camera sucks and movement is fairly clunky? I'm a big fan of the series, but that was something that has always sucked about the games and they never fix it.

Someone's compared the gameplay in AC4 to that of the ZOE. While i doubt it'll be that fast paced, it'll probably be quicker.

Blu-ray won't be able to compare to DVD's in sales for years. When only 5%(even 10% if there's been a major sales boom in the last month or two) or so even have HDtv's, that's about as big a market as blu-ray can expect to get for the time being. That's been a big flaw in your logic that a PS3 is a good buy for the blu-ray player; when so few people even have the ability to watch a movie in HD, very few people are going to buy it.

They moved to an HD format way to early, the market base is barely there at all. Yes, it's growing, but slowly since most people don't throw away perfectly good TV's to buy a new one. DVD was one of the fastest accepted media in history, it's not likely that blu-ray will overtake DVD's quickly. Sony's claims to overtake DVD in 3 years has an extremely small chance of actually happening, unless they can start breaking people's standard TV's, unless they can start breaking TV's so people will need a replacement.

Who? I hadn't heard much about it besides Firestreak saying it'll be good.
