PS3 is hurting!

Lets say GS buys a game for 20bucks
Costs 50 for consumer
Give X% to the selling company
GS makes w/e is left

Used games:
Buy NEW game for 20
Force move to used (free)
Sell for 45.99
make 25.99 Profit compared to the 10 they might make of a new copy.
In this example, they're paying the developing company twice with selling a new game, so there's gotta be something I'm not understanding. If you take out the second payment to the developers, then they'd be making more off selling the new games per unit, which is what I thought they did already.

Lanien, that makes sense, but like you said there should be some kind of infrastructure in place to stop that kind of thing.

There is someone to stop that shit. But store managers can recieve permission to stay alone in the stores. in that time they can do w/e they want.

Should is the operative word. I know Store Managers get their bonuses. I wouldn't be surprised if District Managers and Loss Prevention got their kicks too. That's the beauty of the system though, for people that want to fuck with everything. There is a hierarchy that gets extra money when their area is doing good, but no system to see if it is done legit. Pretty funny, huh? The best part is that once a year, every store manager and district manager get a free trip to a week long conference that talks about new video games and get a load of free shit. Hell, this coming year, the conference is in Las Vegas. I'm thinking about becoming a GameStop manager again lol

Gotta love the perks...

Not only do they get that trip, they get games and systems thrown at them lest and right. Old manager got a zune and a 360.

YEah, I got my 360 free along with a bunch of games and other promotional items that companies were throwing at us so we could hype them up back at our stores lol Hell, I even got into the WoW:TBC beta that way, and I had just started playing WoW literally 2 weeks prior lol

You were what, level 58 by that point?

When people were playing non-stop to get into the burning circle beta, they were hitting 60 in about a week. That's a fuckton faster than you can possibly level in FFXI. The only difference is you have to know what you're doing to speed it up; but WoW is a hell of a lot easier to level in.

ffxi: Stay in same place for 3-4 hours, killing same mob pressing one or two buttons, not having to worry about getting one shotted. So hard.

Same can be said for WoW, except you level about 100x faster.

Edit: wait, I hit 4 buttons on my warlock to kill a mob, yeah that's so much harder.

...did you read what i said AT ALL?
You dont get ganked in FF
You gather xp from the SAME place, you NEVER move
Its not TO skill dependent (pending on job)
Its alot easier to obtain gear in WoW

Trust me i LOVE ff, i am just saying it may take LONGER, but it is SO much easier.

You don't get ganked in wow in half the zones, and that's only if you play on a PVP server in the first place. Moving doesn't make the experience harder, especially when you usually don't even have to move 15 feet forwards before you can target your next mob. I actually pay much more attention to my parties in FFXI than I do soloing in WoW; mainly because I can't just hit 4 buttons and the mob dies 100% of the time(baring links) in FFXI.

I play on PvP. I think people are babies who don't, and i already know what your going to say about that comment so don't bother.

like i said before. For MELEE FF you just press auto attack untill 100 TP WS continue.

I mean Rogues have to press Sinister Strike over and over it is hard sometimes, i mean i have to eviserate some time dont i?

Back on track:

The NPD group said:
Feb. 2007 numbers:

Nintendo DS 485,000
Wii 335,000
PlayStation 2 295,000
Xbox 360 228,000
PlayStation Portable 176,000
Game Boy Advance 136,000
PlayStation 3 127,000
GameCube 24,000
Xbox 480

tbqh 127k is a really good number for a system with x360 ports, a pretty whitebread shooter compared to Gears or Halo, an Excitebike clone with 8 tracks and no offline multiplayer and nothing else

Also lol@the PSP and GBA both outselling it

Truestrike.

The problematic thing with comparing the two games is the bulk of content on WoW is post-grind. Whereas in XI you have a handful of endgame experience and then what?

Not that i can speak from experience but based on the impressions i've been given from a number of XI endgamers it's pretty much a rut. Whereas the endgame experiences in WoW are much harder on a strategic basis and WoW offers many more venues for endgame.

I've said it a million times. Too many people mistake pace of grind for ease and leave content completely out of the conversation.

Both games have finer points that win or lose points on the conversation but given the arena we find ourselves in it's going to be hard to bring anything to the table no one's heard before or make a believer out of anyone.

No MMO is hard if you know what you're doing. The only major differences between MMOs these days are control sets and content. Everything else is speculative opinion especially when contrasting and comparing.

Personally, I found FFXI to be extremely faster to level in but it's not gonna be the same on a per gamer basis. I took BST from 1-71 in less than two weeks, solo except for a few k with Pakomen's RDM in the early twenties. I can't get to 60, let alone 70, in WoW in two weeks, just not happening for me and I've done 1-60, eh, 6 times now (working on 7 >.<). It's probably different for everyone. If every job in FFXI was able to solo as well as BST, It'd be easier, for me, to level. Where FFXI gets you is the damn LFG aspect and having to rely on others in order to gain XP.

More like they don't care about PVPing. People who play on PVP servers are babies who are so insecure they feel the need to whip their dick out with a ruler, see what I did there?

If you play melee in FFXI by auto-attacking and afking until 100% TP, you're an idiot playing your job poorly. If that's how you're playing FFXI, it's no wonder you think WoW is hard.

Looking at it from another perspective:

Wii US sales: 335k
360+PS3 US sales: 355k

Wii worldwide sales: 660k
PS3 + 360 worldwide sales: 478k

Wii + PS2 US sales: 630k

Even discounting the PS2 sales (and the possibility that the Wii is selling as fast as they're coming out) and it's getting more and more obvious that the US and Japan, two of the biggest HD adopters on the planet, don't want to pay the premium for HD gaming.

360's will be flying soon enough. They are phasing the Core out, making the Premium 299, and coming out with the HD with HDMI starting at 400. I might accually Re-Buy my 360.

WOW, February's numbers are brutal.
