PS3 is hurting!

Well Oblivian and Enchanted Arms are the only next gen RPGs out for a LONG time for either system. Blue Dragon has been delayed until August if you didn't notice. At least PS2 is still getting support and PS3 is going to upscale it.

To throw out there, http://www.360-gamer.com/xbox360hardwarefailureresults.asp

It requires a gamertag to register so there are no Xbox haters lowering the score.

Microsoft says 4% of Xbox failure rate. This survey shows over 50%...

The survey also shows the people who break their own shit, lie, and get the fix. I've done that before.

My 360 stopped working in 2nd month. MS extended warrantee on all 360s tho, the added and extra year. I mean how can a company beat that? lol Sure systems at launch were pretty messy. Every single 360 is covered for a year by MS. I have not seen a company offer that service ever to me =D
The shipping of the console is free also^^ AND they threw in a game for me because i was upset haha(i didnt know of the 1year warrantee at that time) Kameo was the game. They were just refurbishing systems and sending them back, but after too many second time failures they now just send a new console. Unless the problem was easily fixed. Anyway i love their Service =D

It also only represents a total of about 1-2k people/consoles <.<

Not exactly a great barometer by my standards provided i understood the page correctly.

Doesn't matter. Keeps the customer happy. And lets software make moneeeys.

Don't know about you but I'd prefer a console that was well built to a 1 year warranty. I mean... yeah, if they break down in a few weeks that's alright but it seems like certain games are what trigger crashes. Dead Rising, GRAW 2, who knows what's the next game? If your warranty is up in 6 months and in 7 months it breaks down when they release Dead Rising 2... that kinda sucks balls. Not to mention you're without a system for 3 weeks which could suck a lot if you have a lot of free time.

Console that was well built, you mean like PS1 and PS2? kekeke

Nintendo has by far the best track record of any company as far as quality of construction is concerned.

PS3's looking pretty stable overall, though, which is nice.

All the console have a date on back from time of manufacturing. As of Oct. I believe anything after that has no redlight issues. Any other problem, freezing and such is mostly gamers fault from then on. And not to promote using the system... aw hell ill promote it haha. You buy 360 from game store and get their warrantee, which is replace the system with a new one. Xbox warrantee is 1year after console purchase. So... if you buy console and year is almost over at game store, then return it and get new one. Your xbox warrantee renews. Not to mention you can purchase another one from the store at that time. Most these 360s are overheating now because ppl actually use them, and don't watch bluerays only like ps3 are forced to do. Oh I'm sorry sometimes you guys play flopstorm;; but anyways what was sonys loss for selling a 1000blueray player for 600... not to mention it plays flopstorm.

...

I'm still using playstation 1 w/ the only dance dance revolution game that came out for it!!! *End of the Century* *B4U* > Playstion 3.. lmao
The best part is i just bought it about a month ago for 20 bux.. $20 > $600 lol!!

I use my PS3 pretty heavily actually, and yes not just for games. I've uploaded gigs of MP3s, movies in MPEG-4 format(converted with Red Kawa). I play Resistance, Motorstorm and Virtua Fighter regulary. I play PS2 games on it often. I play FFXI on it. I use blu-rays on it. I play emulators on it and tommorrow will have AC4 and Oblivian to play on it.

And yeah, Nintendo is reliable. Not always the best value but my SNES, N64 and Gamecube all had no problems. Of course my PS2 had no problems either and I used it more than the other 3 combined. My Sega was actually more reliable than NES and SNES but I didn't play it that often.

I know you use it for other things fire, you have said it many times. As I have said many times ps3 fails at its main purpose, games. Makes you wonder again if that was even sonys main focus... seems blue ray market was. But anyways terms of reliability. Ps2 was not reliable, ok given it lasted so many years and is still alive. I went through 6 ps2s.... so many issues with them, they sorta eventually just die on me in past. With new systems you have to expect them to be severly delecate. I give ps3 credit for good production on a cheap blueray player tho. Imo nintendo is #1 in reliability, I mean I spilled coffe all over my snes and it works like charm still ;;

um i have 2 DDR games for the ps1

It's weird how people complain X-box live is so much better than PSN and then without taking a breath explain that PS3 fails because it gives you more than just gaming. PSN gives you exactly that, online gaming, not a bunch of other things like buying videos and made up points based on whatever you've achieved in games.

It's weird, I do believe if you asked a lot of die hard Xbox fans, they'd say there's more value to achievement points than there is to blu-ray...

Naw fire. The thing is xboxlive beats psn in games AND other content. Were you feel ps3 console beats 360 in extras but fails compared to 360 in gaming so far. BTW Castlevania Symphony of the Night comes out this week on xboxlive =) one of my fav games ;;

Doesn't make any sense, like I told you before... Might as well stop, you're stretching things now that aren't even viable...

We pay for more, we want more. I can rent movies off my console for cheaper than I can go to Blockbuster to pick one up. I also don't have to worry about it being out or a bad copy. Wasn't you, earlier in the topic, using these "bunch of other things" comming to the PS3 as a plus? I think you did :p

I'm not a die hard Xbox fan but I'll attest to this. I don't give two squates about Blu-ray when buying a console. No one should, it's stupid that someone buys a console for a format. It's about he games and content and if you're buying a GAMING console for anything other than that, GTFO. You banking off Blu-ray is actually helping our case about the PS3 being a nice sized paperweight consider... what it is? When you have to delve into the format of disc it can play to find a "plus side" there is a problem.

MS acheivements were genius idea. And home is not bringing psn to top;; its sims online;; only you must pay for furnature;; lame. Anyways trophies from psn are lame also, would I actually spend 5min going to your virtual house down to your secret lair to check your trophy? No! Acheivements are number form right in your face, that tell how much you play and what you play. Most important they drive you to play games to every corner of themselve. If your into that type of thing tho;p some just like to watch movies on game consoles;;

Ok, what the hell are you guys talking about.

First off, you said that PS3's are freezing because they aren't used for anything.

I counter that it's not true, PS3 is on all the time because it's used for many things. The point is that it doesn't freeze because it wasn't put together like shit causing over half of the older consoles to fail.

Yeah, they have a bigger library, which is what we're talking about. In the end where PS3 is behind 360, the library is smaller, being that it has less games for it being out a year less time... you know, because it wasn't rushed to market with defective machines?

The game library is also leagues better than xbox 360 was until 360 was twice as old, sold more systems without most of them being defective and hasn't even reached Europe yet.

Now I didn't buy PS3 as a Blu-Ray player, as you said, it's not why you buy a game system. However, you didn't buy a 360 for Achievements so don't act like you did because it's bullshit. It's a bonus, and a cheap one at that. Trophy's by the way, like EVERYTHING ELSE IN HOME, doesn't need to be accessed via the 3D world. Any function on Home will be doable with the regular OS bar. What does make the trophies better than achievements, however, is that they're more than just a number. that top scoring lap around the race course for example, can be accessed via the trophy system and others can watch an actual video of you doing it. Or if they don't feel like it, they can just check that you got the trophy.

Not that any of that shit is a reason to actually buy a system, nor is achievements. Blu-Ray alone isn't what got me to buy a PS3, but it is a fucking nice feature that achievements doesn't even compare to by any stretch of the imagination. Seriously...

1 point for beating Resistance single player! 1 point for being co-op! 1 point for winning on hard! 2 points for beating on super human! 2 points for winning 10 games online!

Wow PS3 has achievements now!!!

Get the fuck over it, no PS3 owners give a shit about the lack of some scoring system so everyone can see how much of the game we've all completed.

The only thing that'll actually make me buy a 360 is games I can't get on PS3 or are so unique that the experience can't be replicated by a cross platform or ps3 exclusive. Like Halo 3 isn't going to kill me considering Killzone 2 and UT2k7 will be there to fill the Fps void. Blue Dragon on the other hand, seems tempting. However I couldn't give less a fuck if xbox live allowed random people to know how much I accomplished.

I accomplished a shitload of stuff in FFXI for example and you don't see me listing all the stuff I have or even all the jobs I've leveled down in my QCDN signature, because I don't care.

1st. Ps3 did not have a better game base then 360 had at launch or the months following.
2nd. Ps3 will not have even close to a good game base by end of 2007 compared to 360.
(Which would allow ps3 its yearlol and still fail)
3rd. Ps3 fans wait till mid 2008 for their 2 most anticipated games ff13 and mgs, by then.... honestly wtf will 360 have compared to ps3... I am sure tons more as they continue to follow current patterns.
4th. Never said to buy a 360 because of acheivements lolfire, but I did say xboxlive service is better.
5th. Ps3s fate is decided by exclusive titles, at which they fail hard atm. Sure they have some, but where are the good ones. Anyways with companies like capcom(for one example) stating they are changing 4/5 of there ps3 exclusives in the next year or two over to multiplat/xbox exclusive... sadsadsadpanda
6th. With SCEA's CEO last statement about "if ps3 fails, its because we have labeled ourselves the mercedes of the industry" I don't feel safe owning a ps3. Why even comment on failing as a possability;; and coming from the CEO;;;; ouchies. I do have links to it, but I'm on my sidekick atm.
