Started playing about an hour ago, i only have a guitar.

My first impression was that it was too simple. The character models looked low quality and clunky, and when i saw the guitar notes they felt weird because they are not circles, but flat little bars of color.
once i started playing for awhile, The songs became fun fast and the band animation felt so energetic and fun, and the crowd even sings along some times.
The feeling of the band being a real group of people who enjoy playing together is there unlike GH that felt like a bunch of people slapped together to do cover songs.

you will know if you five star'd a song before it ends as you hear a little chime every time to get a star higher, and the star meter bar is right there to tell you how far you are from it.
During solos it shows a percentage that counts up the more notes you hit, if you hit every note it will say 100% perfect solo, or a lower percentage if you miss some.

one thing ive noticed so far is i have not seen ANY hammer ons and pull offs. i started on hard mode, and find it odd i have not seen any.
Any songs that make their appearance from GH will have the same notes has its original appearance.

The song list, overall, feels more fun and better than GHIII. ive liked every song ive played so far.

you can customize your character as well, which is a nice added plus. and when you complete songs you get cash and more items to add to your character, i cant wait to see how this pans out with the other instruments.

i love how the band interacts with each other, it looks so fluid, so real. This makes it feel so much better than the stale band in GH, and each song has its own animations! awesome!

We'll be picking this up tuesday from the Best Buy I work at.

Then gonna skip class and play drums all day. >_>;

im gonna pick this up too, me and my wife n friends really wanna get into it for full effect, the songs are just awesome fun, i found something close to the hammerons, its just really close notes to play, but so far for guitar the game is very easy and very fun.

Damnit, I was just going to start this thread and you beat me to it D: After half a month with GH3, I've come to the conclusion that I will probably enjoy Rock Band more.

You probably just haven't seen them. Sadly, the HOPOs aren't as easy to distinguish as they were in GH3. The only difference between normal and hammers is that the HOs are slightly smaller. I -BELIEVE- that they are using the same system as GH2, 16th notes and higher are all hammers, but I'm not positive. I had a hard time telling where they were, but for the most part I could guess what was and wasn't one.

I'm glad it's Thanksgiving Weekend... my friends and I need some time to finish up through career.

Also, all of the DLC and pricing was announced in OXM. 3 song packs are now $5.49 (440 microsoft points), and single songs are $1.99 (although some are supposed to range from $.99 to $2.99 later on). Compared to $6.50 per pack in GH3 I'm happy with this.

Metallica pack.. im so happy. I think im going to buy another 360 since I dont have one anymore just for Rock Band and Metallica pack.

I could get all my Metallica fenatics and we can be them.

/splooge.

Fuck.

Why was my long drawn out Fuck censored but not that one?

sorry, just noticed it and needed to test it out.

well, just got done playing this for the past 3 hours and now my friends had to leave D: I don't know where to start. This may be the single most fun multiplayer experience EVER. There was only three of us, and even though the charts paled in comparison to the difficulty of GH2/3, there was just something undeniably fun about them. It's way easier to rock out with two friends playing with you. For the most part, none of us wanted to try singing so I gave it a shot on Sabotage. Even though I sucked, it was fun as hell... not something I had expected to enjoy. They liked it to, said it was a lot easier to rock out with a singer lol

The Metallica pack is also fucking amazing. We played Ride The Lightning right before they left and barely passed. Due to the smaller timing window compared to the Guitar Hero's and the fact that your rock meter goes down faster we nearly failed the solo multiple times. Our bassist activated Overdrive near the start of the solo, I activated in the middle, and our drummer hit it right at the end. If any member of the band uses Overdrive, everyone in the band gets a x2 multiplier and has a harder time failing out, which really could change up the strategy a bit.

Can't wait to play this more tomorrow.

Okay, after 6 hours of non-stop Rock Band with 7 people jammed in my room, I can officially say I believe this is the single most fun party game EVER.

But the bad side.... The Strat breaks. I'm not the only one having this problem apparantly, a lot of people on ScoreHero have fallen victim to the "Broken Downstrum of Death", which basically causes your guitar to stop registering when you strum down. I prefer the Strat to the Les Paul personally, so this is disappointing. At least replacements are free D:

I'm tempted to buy a 360 and get it, instead of waiting for it to come out on PS3..

er... 360 and PS3 had a simultaneous launch >_> Unless you mean PS2? Which is December 12th, I believe.

According to futureshop Canada rockbank comes out on Dec. 20. Have I been had?

Canada is for nubs. Rockband in america both came out at the same time for PS3/360.

Oh yeah? Give me your cheap automacars!

I dunno I'll go to FS tomorrow and see for myself.

No. In Canuckistan, it's been pushed back a full month for no real reason. My guess is that instead of having short supplies in both countries for peripherals, they're staggering the releases. It fucking sucks.

Me and my buddy from work made a band today. He was main guitar, and i was base, and we totally tore up my gamecrazy. We had people coming in just to watch/listen to us play. It was the most fun i've had in awhile.
