SCH vs BLM

I haven't levelled Sch yet. I would like another job that can perform a Blm's role in a party. If you like melee you have many choices. If you like nuking you have one. But, I don't think that other job should be scholar. There's a fine line between Jack of all Trades, and Master of all Trades, and Scholar isn't very far away from crossing it. That there are threads like this prove that Scholar's magic damage is nothing to scoff at. It's also giving whm a run for its money. Hopefully SE boosts Scholars helix spells and makes it a DOT mage, rather than giving it tier V's and AM IIs. We need scholar to take white and black magic in a new direction with a different focus, rather than simply being the best of both. That's my humble oppinion.
 
Just for the live journal context Cochise blm has 1 int merit, 2 elemental and 2 potency.
 
I liked the parses on that, seems like it'd be a nice thing to be using SCH-not to mention AoE Buffs for things such as Obis make BLM potentially more powerful as well. Not only does SCH do great DMG, but with the right usage...can make everyone around them very effective.

SCH can come close if not the same I would think in Sea, no? Since most if not all mobs there have very little tolerances to Magic dmg? Besides the one Jailer who resists it altogether. Lol.

In the process of collecting parses for most tier2 jailers, but it seems they can out dd against blms w/ Ebullience active.

Just through a dnc with stutter step at jol and then you don't have to worry about resists.
 
Only problem with Stutter Step is that it requires 10 TP to use it. Would need a heavy Acc setup to even land, and /SAM(able).

Duration is 1min if I am correct, meaning they can continue to use it non-stop and still have leftover TP to keep going even after Meditate is back up.[Meditate TP Gain = 60TP = 30-20TP leftover after 3min(Recast Time)]

But, I doubt a LS is going to toss a DNC into a slot in the party just so the SCH can do more DMGing Nukes I am afraid. XD

Most LSs I know of; tend to SMN burn with 2 Tanks while the BLM PT rapes the summons throughout the fight~Barely do the BLM nuke JoL.

Not all LSs' methods, just a few I've noticed. ^.^
