So what are your biggest pet peeves?

One of my duties at the medical billing company I work for is to field phone calls from patients.

Me: <Name of company>, this is <name of me>, how can I help you?
Caller: 062589623
Me: !!

What the hell is that number? Is that your account number? Your SSN number (har, har Rappa)? Furthermore, I don't know what your issue is, so I don't know what application I need to pull up to resolve your issue. All you've done with that crap is added another 30+ seconds to this call because you didn't want to follow the process. I didn't ask you for whatever the hell number you just gave me. I need to know what the issue is. Thirty seconds doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up over the course of the day for each jackass that does this.

In line with this, when I waited tables, it was standard practice to greet your customers with something to the effect of "How are you?" When you reply "I need some cheese fries and a coke," I want to punch you in the face. Would it kill you to be courteous? Am I so far beneath you that you can't even bother to actually listen to the questions I'm asking? Believe me, I don't want to spend my day chatting you up; the longer you sit here, generally the less money I make.

Take the 2 seconds to actually listen to what I'm saying before blurting out some bullshit that has nothing to do with the price of tea in China. Listen instead of just waiting for your turn to talk.

I get this crap alot too hate it. One of the reasons Jereme hates being around me after a phone call like this or after I put the dumbass on hold to bitch for a bit before getting back to my computer...

and idk but the bolded part just made me laugh really loud. I just this image of Lin standing there fist start forming and the look on her face like mother fker you just want to get hit today rolling through your head.

I hate people who use ^.^, or <.< or >.< or any variation of the sort. Its retarded, stop it.

Thanks for reading. ^^

I hate all these mother fuckers with Batman fucking sigs and Avatars. It is way to bandwagon.

Are you flaming in off topic? -.^

My biggest pet peeves:

People who speed up past the line of traffic when there's a merge coming only to have to stop and force their way in at the front. Are they so fucking important that they have to cause a traffic jam only to be worse? The same goes for people who change lanes during a traffic jam because the other lane is moving slightly faster for 10 seconds. You're only making the situation worse.

I work in retail and one of my largest peeves is the people that insist they don't need any help and then when you walk away to help people who want your help, leave in a fuss that they weren't getting the attention they needed. I fucking offered to answer any questions you had or help explain something to you, the least you could do is tell me when you have a question instead of saying that nobody even talked to you. It's not that rude to interrupt a sales person to let them know you have a question and wait patiently for them to answer it or have them get someone who can help while they're busy. And amen to the comment about being ignored flat out. That's just as bad. I must get "Hi, how are you doing today?" responded with "Just looking" before I can even finish my sentence.

Teachers who use powerpoint exclusively in their lectures annoy the hell out of me. I had at least 30% if not more of my professors in college do this. They would practically read their slides verbatim and didn't put any thought into explaining things better than the book. If I wanted to learn from a book, I'd do so. I pay your salary to teach me in ways that make it easier and more sensible than the text alone. Don't be a professor so that it pays your research funding and not care about your students. That's the number one reason our education system is so shitty these days, the professors have no passion for teaching the subjects on the majority and the few who do are hard to find. If you don't want to teach, don't teach. It's that simple. I hate that phrase "those who can't do, teach" because those shouldn't be the ones teaching the next generation. The successful ones with passion toward their field and relating that to young eager minds are the ones who should be paving the way.

I have so many others I could rant about all day but I'll call it a night with those. Others include noticing signs that don't make any sense, or stating the complete obvious like "Water on road during rain" or "Bridge may freeze in winter". Inappropriate advertising methods also annoy me. Don't show me unrelated images and flash the product at the end of the commercial like it made sense. People ignoring sound advice and then bitching to you about the results.

You know what I hate..when you get shampoo in your eyes, because then you have to get conditioner in them also!

wow....that was so incredibly lame, it was funny XD

Anyways, seriously this time, I'm sure I have a lot of pet peeves, but I can't really think of any right now.

OH! I thought of one. People that feel the need to fill a silence. There is no such thing as an "uncomfortable" silence. I'm totally fine with not talking when I have nothing to say. Why aren't other people?

That noise cats make when they fight. It's nails on a chalkboard to the n'th degree.

Those really, really long dungeons you see in some MMOs - Not the dungeon in general, but how a blackout seems to occur after you've gotten 9/10 through it all.

Burnt popcorn.

Smoke, and to a lesser degree smokers. I know some nice smokers but honestly, I can't stand the smell. Not to mention having relatives smoking indoors leaves clothes and such smelling of smoke which is both gross and embarrassing. A lot of smokers bug me because they can't take the time to stand at the porch or something while they smoke, instead they hafto smoke usually in any room of their house they please...it's entirely their right but it makes visiting somewhat less pleasant when there's that smell floating in every room.

Biggest peeve is probably people who refuse to ever say sorry or admit wrongdoing/mistakes, as if humility will kill them or something. Second biggest peeve would probably be people who can't forgive.

I don't mind when people use those aside from when people use those when they're saying something mean. I appreciate sarcasm, but that shit isn't witty, it isn't clever, and please just stop it.

8. Grocery store munchers:
Go home and eat, stop picking the grapes off the display and stuffing your face you fucking slob. They all taste the same. This is even worse when you see them later at the cash and they don't buy any grapes.... wtf.

I was going to post this next because I saw this recently. Old lady had a soda while standing in line, she drank almost ALL the soda, then put it back... I wanted to shout "You better pay for that shit." Either that or throw something at the back of her head.

- Bad drivers.
Seriously how the fucking hell do some of those moron drivers get their licenses. e.g. stopping at a green light. Colour blind is no excuse because they are in international order. Driving 20 km/h under the speeding limit. And finally those ass holes who drive in the lane no one is in because it is closed ahead, so they go as far as they can to get ahead of everyone.

- Snotty customers.
Just because I'm serving you food doesn't mean you can be unnecssarily(sp) mean.

I worked at a coffee shop for a summer job, man I discovered so many pet peeves I had I didn't even knew existed.

We had this one woman that would buy a cinnamon bun and a large double double. Okay, no problem =D

She would sit at her table with it on her plate, and drink her coffee. Fifteen minutes later she'd come back without a bite out of her cinnamon bun, slide it on the counter in front of me, and then tell me that "I want a refund, my cinnamon bun is cold."

...wtf

No wonder its cold, you had it sitting on your table for fifteen minutes. Turns out that she did this every day.

The next day I was ready for her. When she told me the line, I used a piece of plastic to rip off a chunk, tossed it in my mouth, and said, "Naw, tastes fine to me,"

ALSO

people that get quad quads and 5 5s...

Wtf, thats like more damn sugar and cream than coffee!!! Good god if our coffee is /that/ strong why are you drinking it???

Unexpected events that eat up time.
I know it's kinda unreasonable, but I hate it when I'm about ready to go somewhere and then we get a call from someone important and my parents waste the next ten minutes talking to them about whatever.

-People who religiously don't use their blinker while driving. My dad does this, and I give him shit about it all the time. It literally takes zero effort to move your hand half an inch to turn on your blinker. I shouldn't have to be a mind reader to know what the hell you're doing while you're driving. Hell, you paid for the damn thing when you bought the car, the least you can do is use it.

I don't know about in other states, but in CA and you use your blinker it means the other person is gonna (not might) speed up and not let you into their lane even though they're 10 car-lengths back.

And about the ATM machine P.I.N. Number, I work at a car dealership in parts and when you ask a customer for their Vehicle Identification Number (their V.I.N.) they look at you stupid until you say VIN number. idk what it is but sometimes putting the "number" at the end of it seems to help them think of what it is.

To Morwen: -Excessive pen tapping.
We could never hang out cause I tap on anything and everything. In the car, at my desk standing near a trashcan, on my chest with my hands if theres nothing else around.
Idle hands do the devils work. My hands are devil free. I think they have minds of their own, and those minds have ADD.

I do agree with the rest tho.

Artists for animes and mangas that are too damn lazy to draw an eye, so they give the character -_- and >_> eyes the whole damn show.

Go watch naruto episode one. Then tell me what color naruto's eyes are to the end. you can't.

Another good example is broc from pokemon. Seriously. Is it THAT hard to draw an eye when that's what your getting paid to do.

oh and how about you stop paying female voice actors to do the male lead's voice. If I hear one more male lead that sounds like he's secretly a transexual...

This goes for both dubbed and subbed.

I actually think it's better this way. Little kids tend to have fairly high-tone voices, and male adults can't often pull that off remotely well. =/

- People who worship Japan and Japanese otaku culture.

- Southern 'gangster/crunkassshit' rap.

- Lil' Wayne.

- Bitches who steal 360's and move to Texas.

- 4chan.

- Not having a Camera/360/GTi/decent phone/decent PC/apartment/money

- Those motherfuckers who complained about the Diablo 3 graphics. WAY TO PUSH THE RELEASE DATE EVEN FARTHER ASSHOLES.

- My rents.

- Bees. God damn I hate bees.

I hate it when people don't say please or thank you. To me, you come off as really rude when you don't say them, I work at a restaurant and I think it's polite when you say like "can you get me <itemhere> for me please? Thank you" THey are two simple phrases to use, and I appreciate it when you say them. Thank you

Parents who can't control their kids, parents who don't keep their kids in line. Today at work a family came in that had came in before to eat, and they have like 3 kids. THe kids are loud, annoying, and love to make a mess with their food. What really ticks me is that the parents just sit there and let the kids bang their forks on the tables, take their food and just throw it on the floor. They MIGHT say "Don't do that" but seriously now? ugh

People who won't shut up about their beliefs. You believe/dont't believe in god or any higher power? Good for you, shut up and stop bringing it up in almost every thing you say, it gets old.

Cocky people. I LOVE IT WHEN I SEE COCKY PEOPLE GET OWNED!! I can't stand people who are full of themselves, you aren't the king/queen of the earth, so please get off your high chair and stfu.

Know-it-alls. Congrats, you know everything about everything! Now shut up.

Women who always bitch about how evil men are, that women don't need men blahblahblah. I'm not a sexist person, I don't believe that women need to stfu and go back to the kitchen. Yes I believe men make mistakes and treat women poorly, but I'm afraid to say you aren't the perfect gender. You make mistakes as well.

What if we got a 16 year old kid to do the voice of the 16 year old character... instea dof a 14 year old girl? =o
