Movie Sparkles!

Completely and utterly PWNED!!! Though I'm glad a few of them took the joke rather well, those one's who took this seriously, yeah, they need to get a life.

Oh please if someone didn't actually show you the premier of say Ultimate Hellsing 5 when you went through that shit I bet you'd rage too. ;p

Or it's a compromise for the girlfriends who put up with NFL games or UFC fights >.>

I'm not a fan of either and I still won't concede that putting someone through Twilight is the equivalent of sports or UFC. No way.

I wouldn't. I do know when to take things as a joke, honest =)

I recently watched both Twilight and Hellsing V.

For Twilight, I can see why girls would like what happens, and the movie wasn't to terrible. The lines had their moments of cheese, but what movies don't? I also don't understand why everyone is hot for the main girl, when I think the short haired vampire girl looks alot better then "I don't really care because I'm still on my high" girl.
Speaking of cheesy lines, I was pleased to laugh out loud on only one. (You're my own personal heroine. WTH?)

I probably won't watch it ever again, but I know I am honor bound to see the rest of the movies, due to always forcing Yopo to watch Batman, Watchmen, and various other movies with me. Hopefully the second one will have more fight scenes then the first, but I'm probably wishing for something that'll never exsist.

On the off note of Hellsing V... NEEDS MOAR ALUCARD. >.>
It was great watching it, but the only thing re:watchable in it is good ol' Father Anderson at the end. :D
Where is VI by the way??

Twilight has seriously terrible characters :\ all of them are so bland or just horrible people in general. Bella is a selfish whiney cunt >.>

I agree with whiny.. but selfish? Her character was actually written quite opposite and selfless. But meh

This is a hating thread, and as cheese as I can see, ultimately I enjoyed the story.

Books are a lot more helpful in expansion and details than low budget movies.

Have you seen what she puts her poor father through? How she's so obsessive over Edward and crap? How her main care is HER becoming a vampire? It's always ABOUT her. At least, so the movie comes off.

I wouldn't call her selfish, but I also wouldn't call her well-written...

I've seen it several times and I've read it several times. I now have a very clear understanding of what I'm seeing because imo Twilight did not do the greatest job portraying the story very well. But it was low budget, kinda newish actors. That's mainly why I want to see New Moon. I want to see if they fucked it up, or at least did a better job with this attempt than Twilight.

Bella, all throughout the story she tries to keep her father in the dark where he likes to be (this is true of his character) and yeah she's obsesses over Edward, her every breath becomes about him, but idk that it was ever supposed to be something she could control.

The characters are funny if you read the books in the sense that she never feels she's good enough for him, he's just 'ohh soo perfect' and yet he feels the exact same way, she is some amazing perfect delicate being and he doesn't deserve her. The battle within each is pretty amusing.

But honestly, I'm giving too much credit, this thread is to bash this shit!

So bash away =) I just kinda like informed bashing myself.

The whole sparkling thing is pretty fucking funny. Otherwise, Stephanie's ideas of vampires doesn't differ much from many others.

I dunno, I guess I'd have to read the twilight books, but I hate how the author butchered everything that was about Vampires and admitted she did NO research about Vampires at all before writing her story >< plus, I've always been against romanticizing them. Vampires aren't hawt, sure they're awesome, but hawt they are not. I don't like the idea of being attacked in my sleep. Ah well though, I've always been weird though compared to others around here. I always loved scifi and fantasy more :P

To be honest, I don't care how she changes the vampire up. It's her book and look at it, it's made more money than any of us could probably come up with.

I liked the first film, didn't LOVE it but I thought it was ok. Going to go see this soonish I suppose.

If she had explained why they're like that or established that this was her own world instead of basing it off the world in ours (I mean Bella did research on Vampires and shit right?) than I'd be a bit happier, but she didn't. She's a meh author imo.

A werewolf falls in love with a unborn fucking baby. HOW IS THAT GOOD WRITING?

I'm sure my parents fell in love with me before I was born? Though I'm not sure what type of love we are talking about here... lol

The bad kind of love that's illegal everywhere.

Meh he didn't fall 'inlove' with the unborn child, he was marked with her. Which means throughout her younger years he would act as a protector and then there was a good possibility they would fall in love, which is still ew. But I've read some pretty ew things, this is pretty mild.

And if you're not opening your imagination to such possibilities, how can you enjoy fantasy??

I went and saw New Moon on a date, and to be honest, it wasn't that bad.

That being said, I got one message through the whole thing: it's totally OK to lead a guy on and use him to make yourself feel better even though you're in love with someone else.

I don't care about anything else in the series good or bad... that is FUCKING WRONG and it's a horrible lesson to impart to all the young girls who worship this series.

Again, in the books.

The movies completely lack the message that it's not okay. Bella struggles within about her feelings, it's like she DOES love him too, but not as much, and not enough. So yea, she's selfish for 'needing' him , but Jacob is the loser who sticks it out in hopes of her changing teams knowing full well she's not that into him.

It's not cool, but at least she makes it known to Jacob early on her feelings whereas in this movie there was little mention of her feelings.

I think what is fair to say, these movies are pretty shit comparisons. You need a narrator at all times doing voice overs to really paint an accurate picture. No amount of acting could provide ><
