Movie Sparkles!

I tried to read the books, I couldn't make it very far.

I'm sorry, the first movie (I haven't seen 2) were probably less painful than reading that piece of crap.

Again, in the books.

The movies completely lack the message that it's not okay. Bella struggles within about her feelings, it's like she DOES love him too, but not as much, and not enough. So yea, she's selfish for 'needing' him , but Jacob is the loser who sticks it out in hopes of her changing teams knowing full well she's not that into him.
That sounds like every relationship that ends in the two being just friends. Ever.

I watched both movies. I thought that they were funny. My sister told me not to read the books since the writing style would bore me. Personally I think that Bella is a selfish player bitch. I can't stand her. It is always about her. She plays Edward, Jacob and whatever the human boy is named. I think that all of the guys should have left her alone. I enjoyed the movies and they weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be. Not too crazy about her version of the vampire but it is the author's story and she's making a crap ton of money on it. I enjoyed Michael Sheen's acting and I love the character of Alice. Bella's human girl friend was funny too.

Jessica = the bombdiggity hilarious girl that I would have been friends with in high school.

Alice = the girl I would have pined over in high school.

Aro = the dude I would want to emulate :O

Jacob = the dude I would have been friends with in high school, but never wanted to piss off.

Edward = the guy I would have thrown over my shoulder and hauled down the hall singing "OLE, OLE OLE OLE OLE".

Bella = the girl I would have not pissed on should she had been on fire.

Jessica is the twat I would have happily closed line walking down the hallway.

Alice would totally be my best friend if I had any say =)

Emmet would be my bud no one fucked with !!

Funny, at first Bells character kinda annoyed me, it still does a little only because of how fucking insecure she is. Women/girls that are THAT insecure need to be bitch slapped, obviously.

But she's not all that bad a 'person'. You guys really are hating on her. And I'm not the teeny bopper oh-so-puppy-lovin twilight, I'm speaking from a neutral perspective on having got a good idea of the characters. Honestly, if any girl in this series should be hated on it is Jessica, oh and Jane.

There is no way to clearly describe this but, I personally think Bella is the most mature immature person... if that's even possible.

I'm sorry Morch. Bella might be a better character later on but the way she plays with the emotions of those guys is freaking annoying. I have known girls like her in rl. Yeah it's the guys' fault for letting her do it but it doesn't give her the right to do that. My sis read the books and she can't stand her either. I'm not saying that she's a completely immoral person. That aspect of her just pisses me off.

See, apparently she tries to make it clear. The human she outright tells him and he still follows her around like a puppy dog. Jacob she also lets know what's up, the problem lies in who she still wants them as friends. And friends you can tend to lean on, but these boys can't handle it.

Also, I kinda remember some friends of mine who would have a very hard time upsetting guys, and would just try signals for them to get a clue. But we all know not all guys are that swift. Especially at 16 >.>

I get it though, as a grow ass woman, if you notice a male friend cannot be content being friends it's time to sever ties.

?

i think she's hilarious.

Honestly Trist. Jessica is fucking evil. She's that bitch backstabbing gf who tells you to come to a party in costume when it's not a costume party just to embarrass you and make herself look good.

Her thoughts we pretty mean and nasty in the books. She was always petty and jealous and of what exactly? She would have nasty thoughts of Bella and then smack a fake smile on her face for show.

Girls I've known like this in my life have come close to getting lip enhancements by way of closed fists.

E- yea I'm just going to keep this as my last though. I kinda poked my nose around and it wasn't until a couple posts that seemed to scream uninformed that got my attention, got me to post.

Ish a hating the Sparklies, and I get it. These series have created just as many haters and lovers. Whatever.

I just honestly have to say, the 2 movies thus far have not done very great jobs at clearly detailing the story. It's to be expected. The books are an aquired taste. Cheers, cheerio and all that good shit ^^

I haven't and won't read the books. Jessica is funny in the movie, and Anna Kendrick is hot. She'd have been my hot friend in high school. :|

Ran across this.... funny, but has some valid points (i.e. author writing Bella so that any girl could imagine herself in the main character's place).

Notable quotation:

So what about men that like Twilight?
If you're male and you like Twilight, you're gay. I don't mean that in the derogatory sense, I mean it in the "you want to put your testicles against another man's testicles while gripping handfuls of chesthair" kind of way.

omg that's awesome XD Pants

Now that I think about it, had the author written the equivalent version of Twilight for guys instead (i.e. featuring a hot vampire chick who inexplicably has lots of sex with a nerdy high school guy), I'd probably have read all the books.

It may have not had the same fan base (women are responsible for the majority of book sales), but I think it would have been close.

In high school, a guy in my English class did a book report on Twilight (yeah, he was gay.) It was the first time I heard of the series, and I knew I'd hate it after hearing his report. All I could think of was "Soap Opera...with some sorta vampire things."

And someone pointed the books to me one day, and made me read a page to show me the "good writing." I couldn't stand it >.> Totally not my style.

If it were a soap opera with aliens and/or robots, however...
Hmm.....
...I'm on Team Alien.

When it comes to woman-on-vampire or woman-on-werewolf lovin', I stick with the Anita Blake or Sookie Stackhouse novels. That's supernatural porn for grown-ups.

Bella is no Buffy, that's for sure. Buffy knew how to take care of a stalker: stab him through the heart with a sword and send him to hell.

Sookie Stackhouse? That's a porn name if I've ever heard one, lol.

Anita Blake is raunchy writing though. I am still working my way through that series. And although it's a good read for supernatural 'lovin' adult style, not all people would find them such a good read.

Like I said they're RAUNCHY!

Oh, almost forgot. One last thing - Edward has his own religion.
Cullenism.
This is not a joke.
This is a real religion. They believe that the Cullens are real, and must be worshipped. They believe that Stephenie Meyer is a prophet, and that the Twilight series are, in fact, holy books. And that the reward for a life of devout worship and right living is eternal life with the Cullens - including Jacob, Bella, and Meyer.
That's right. You get to spend eternity with an arrogant jerk, a pedophile, a cretin, an idiot novelist, and a horde of shrieking fangirls.
And that's if you're good.
