Suffering from Heartbreak

well it came up when we were fighting and she told me that she didnt want to stop talking to me because i know that if we did stop being a couple i would want to distance myself from her to get over her, and she knew that too so thats why it came up

my father said something last night and i know u must have heard it before but i think its true

"if you love something set it free, if it comes back to you it was always yours, if it doesnt it never was"

whatever happends ill be able to use that as closure i guess, if she comes back to me then i know that she still loves me, but if she decides to break it off then ill know she never did...hard as it is to accept ill have to

True. Don't dwell on it though. Just try to move on and if she does pop back into your life it could be a good thing. (hypothetical)

yea, im trying so hard not to think about her, lol but it seems everything i look at reminds me of her which sucks

Theres a saying ya know, Lovers cant be friends (or something to that effect).

And i think I stand by that. If you love someone, and then you breakup, how can you ever be their friend again? Realistically any person would want to be with them again as a couple, not a friend. It would just lead to too many problems.

This is the hardest truth there is. Tok and Exo, I know exactly what you're talking about when you say your significant other is going through something and seemingly pushing you away or won't let you in. I've been there myself. When you're in love with someone, your first instinct is to "fix" whatever's wrong. You mean well and you try to do whatever you can to ease whatever is troubling the one you love, but sometimes that just makes them feel more stressed out and pressured. In trying to ease their suffering you are actually unintentionally smothering them.

This is a personal flaw I work on in myself even in my current relationship. There are times when something's wrong and you just have to say, "I love you and I'm here for you if you need me," then just let them be. It kills you because you want more than anything to see them not hurting or angry or upset anymore. But the fact is, some problems are problems only you can solve for yourself. You have to give them that space, as much as it pains you, and show your support in as many other ways as you can without intruding. If she's stressed, set her up w/ a candlelit bubble bath or make or take her out to dinner. Buy her a card or a rose for no reason other than you're thinking of her. Make it clear that if you can help you will, and if not, you will support her. Because really loving her, even if whatever is wrong results in the end of your relationship, means you want what's best for her too.

I wish you guys well. I know that what you're going through sucks so much. I hope everything works out for the best for you both.

i will always love her, no matter how this turns out

itll just be hard for a little while

Same I have been there too. Can't "fix" something or someone if they don't want to be fixed either. Zyndara, Exo, and Tok you all seem to have a level head on your shoulders and I wish you the best.

u too everyone

i can say from experience tha everything will work out for the best on both sides, it might not be what either or wants but it will be for the best nonetheless

Im pretty much trying to do what Zyndara said, well see how it goes tonight.
