Georgebobbilly asked in the "Knew it was coming" thread:
What exactly is so bad about Palin, I mean I don't follwo politics to much, but I still haven't heard one truely negative thing said about her... but I do hear alot of Democrats saying things like "imagine her as president" or things of that none specific nature.
A few reasons I would not vote for her.
1) As mayor of Wasilla, she screwed up a deal for a sport center that shredded the town's budget. They're still paying off her blunder.
2) Asked a librarian about book banning. The librarian balked, so Palin got her fired. She embraces culture war politics.
3) Has a history of appointing unqualified cronies to positions in her administration. We saw how well that worked out for Bush and FEMA when Katrina hit.
4) She abused her power as governor to try and settle a personal family grudge. She probably wouldn't have had a problem if she'd just admitted it up front instead of lying about it. The cover-up is usually worse than the crime itself.
5) She's a young-earth creationist who mocks scientific/genetic research (Direct quote: "Things like fruit fly research in Paris, France. I kid you not.") out of pure ignorance. She's quickly growing to be the epitome of the rabidly anti-intellectual Christian-victimhood mess the Republicans have become over the past few years.
6) She has no foreign policy experience and shows even less curiosity about the outside world than George W. Bush. She says she has foreign policy experience because Alaska is near Russia, which makes everyone into an astronaut since they can look outside and see the moon.
7) Thinks rape and incest victims who get pregnant should be forced to have their rapist's baby.
8) Spends an awful lot of time trying to paint Obama as anti-American for someone with close ties to the Alaskan secessionist movement.
9) Wants a constitutional amendment to deny gay people like me the right to marry.
10) Her dedication to education isn't exactly overwhelming. Palin bounced from college to college for years before getting her degree. One child is a high school dropout, another one is a knocked-up teen with shoddy attendance who's about to marry a guy dropping out of school, and she drags the little girl around the campaign trail when she probably should be in school. Yeah, I really want her influencing education policy in this country.
11) Joe the Plumber has given more interviews. You can really tell she respects freedom of the press, y'know? Then again, I'd probably avoid reporters if my answers made George W. Bush look like an intellectual firebrand.
