White supremacists must be having a field day on a pinata right about now.
Ok first of all i admit that i am a bit cynical... its actually one of the traits that i like about myself.
I may be cynical... yes but i tell you what... i am going to make sure i have ammo for all of my guns in case i need to protect myself.
Why do you like being cynical? Don't you have other qualities to like about yourself? That seems like a self respect issue to me.
There is so much to comment on in this thread, but this one post stands out. Sorry Ecks, but that's a bullshit excuse. I myself really REALLY hated my choices for president, and in fact have not been excited about a candidate since 96, but I went to the polls, not for the presidential election, but because of some local races and state issues. Election day is not just about the president, there are a lot of things that get voted on and I'm sure that you could easily find something that means something to you and probably several things that impact your life.
AMERICA GOT THE PRESIDENT IT DESERVES.
Heh, I'm along the same lines. When I saw the results I said to myself, "Congratulations America majority, you voted for murder and if not murder, chaos in the very least case situation." Heh, even if somethin' bad does happen to him, I don't think it'll end like with the others. This is gonna get nasty.
Welp, nothin' more I can do than sit back and watch what the majority of you stirred up. Should be interestin', thanks in advance for the show. May our punishment be light.
Ok... Cynical
1. like or characteristic of a cynic; distrusting or disparaging the motives of others.
2. showing contempt for accepted standards of honesty or morality by one's actions, esp. by actions that exploit the scruples of others.
3. bitterly or sneeringly distrustful, contemptuous, or pessimistic.
Don't just think something ask yourself why am i thinking this and you too will become a cynic.
Soooo... we are being punished for putting the right person in charge? So, out of fear of assassination, and ensueing chaos, we should have voted McCain? Even if we had a direct threat from someone specifically saying Obama would be assassinated upon him being elected, I would like to hope the vote would still have turned out the same. I don't know where you grew up, but this is not a nation of cowards.
Imaginary rate up, bro. After what has definitely been one of the most exhausting election years in recent history... I have only this to say:
AMERICA GOT THE PRESIDENT IT DESERVES.
The beauty of it is, no matter who you voted for, you will probably agree with that statement. I know I do.
Imaginary rate up, bro.

So what made people like Ron Paul trustworthy (I think it was you who supported him)? Did the way the internet portrayed him have any effect on your opinions of him or would you of agreed with his positions even if they all belonged to a "guy you know from work". If Ron Paul was a nobody who posted on QCDN, would you of gone "hey! this dude should run for president!"

As for obama's motives, I honestly believe his main motive is to be a great man for the history books. He wants to be a name an 8th grader in the year 2400 both recognizes and can say a little bit about, being the first black president isn't enough for this, he needs to make a lasting impression on this nation. He's not doing it for "the people" he's doing it for himself, it just so happens that what's good for "the people" is good for him, and that's why I do have a trust in him. If I'm right about his motives, it's going to be hard to corrupt him with money and power, because what he wants is greatness. Weather or not he'll make a good president has yet to be seen, but I can't find any serious major faults with him yet and I like most, not all of his policies, and shows enough promise to be worth a shot, moreso than anyone else.
It's "ensuing". I guess we're not a nation of idiots either.
The problem is that we have a spending problem in this country and the only solutions that he and Pelosi are really giving us are other ways to spend money.
Alanon, don't want you to think I'm ignoring you, but it's late and my body and brain aren't rested like they were yesterday. So I'm holding off my response, which will probably come Friday. If this thread is closed by then we can continue in PM if you wish. If not, no real loss to either of us.
In short, what I said is how I feel. Everyone has their reasons to vote and that's my reason for not voting. You don't feel the same way, why should you? You aren't me. I don't expect you to understand me. I was merely making a statement and giving my reason for not voting. It frustrates me to no end when I hear people get pissy because someone tells them they didn't vote. My reason is my reason, my belief. If you don't like it, quite frankly I don't care. Looks like I went and responded anyway. Time to finish relaxing before I doze off for the night.
