THE OFFICIAL 2009 FOOTBALL SEASON SMACK TALKING THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Washington has been a thorn in our side the last two times we've played them. Hopefully we can get over the skins hump, they play a style of defense that always gives us problems.

I'd love to see saints play the chargers, drew brees v philip rivers would be a GREAT matchup. kinda grudge match, even tho I hear they are both good friends even today.
(for those who don't know brees used to be starting qb for chargers but they traded him to the saints about 2 years after they drafted rivers)

only way it'll happen tho is if they meet at the superbowl, would be awesome.

What I want is a 18-0 Colts vs. 18-0 Saints Superbowl. Could you imagine that? lol

Oh my....I get all happy and warm inside just thinking about such a scenario...would be the most anticipated game of all time. Unlikely of course...but man would that be awesome.

I dunno, both teams are getting close and both beat the all hyped Patriots.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

I'm still mad at you for getting to go to that game and i wasn't. :P But on a positive note the redskins don't have the unity to defeat a team like the Saints. Yeah they can give a fragmented Eagles team a run for its money and limit a Cowboys team that still has trouble clicking. But against a team as united and as polished as the Saints, i don't think so.

YES!!!!!!

Hyped is correct. Very few of the patriots that we faced Monday had anything to do with that undefeated season. Hell one of them plays for us now, Heath Evens.

I have been wishing for that SB scenario ever since the Saints broke their all time undefeated streak. Not only will that be the most watched Superbowl in NFL history, but we'll have a chance to face both of Archie's sons in 1 season. :P

Not really trouble clicking all that much as just bad luck in a way. If we had trouble clicking, we would of lost to a Raiders' team who beat the Eagles and the Bengals. We had trouble against two pretty good defenses, and as I told my father (Skins' fan) "If you guys don't put at least 9 points on the board, you're going to lose because we haven't been shut out in years and it won't happen tonight." I think our next two games will show how we are really playing. And yeah, no chance the Skins will beat the Saints. I don't think they'll score 38 on them though.

Time to see how the Saints will respond after a big game on Monday night, on a short week, without both starting corners again, down one starting linebacker, and a kicker who hasn't kicked all season, and Drew Brees who is 0-5 since 2005 in weather under 45 degrees.

I'm sorry, no matter how much I wanted to see a 18-0 vs. 18-0 superbowl, they really cheated the Skins out of this one. The pick-to-strip-to-touchdown, should of been called down. The Sellers fumble, should of been called down. But then again, you gotta blame the Skins kicker again. That Field Goal would of wrapped up the game.

Oh well, finally get to watch my Boys.

They took over 5 minutes on reviewing both of those. They got the calls right.

That pick-strip-td was the right call. That Redskins player rolled off his own player, not a saint. You have to 100% evidence to overturn a call.

That fumble in OT, the same. The ball was clearly coming loose before the elbow hit from that one angle.

Imo, the skins cheated themselves in that lost. They made some horrible mistakes in the end. This game is close to what the Colts did for 5 straight weeks, winning all those games while trailing in the 4th QT. Reminds me of the 07 pats against the Ravens too. Just seems the ball always bounces the good teams way no matter what.

The pick-strip-TD should of been down because he was touching the ground and a saint was on his foot. That's supposed to be counted as down.

The OT fumble, yes the ball came out before his elbow touched, but not before his forearm. The forearm counts as down also.

Either way, it was just a heart breaker for Skins' fans. I really saw them taking that W towards the end but as usual, they can't keep it up.

And meh@Cowboys game. The mistakes made is what messed the game up. Everyone says Romo plays bad in December but he played pretty good today. Just couldn't get points when we needed it. As usual though, it was a decently-high scoring game that we always have with the Giants. 33-31 last time, 31-24 today.

Anglis is right. And i also agree that the skins should have won that game. They did what the saints did for years, dominated the entire game but still found a way to lose. First game all season we never lead in any of the 4 quarters of play. I watched the reviews from several angles and i think the refs made the correct call on both. The skins, probably high on the fact that they were beating an undefeated team, forgot about ball security, a problem the saints were known for. I'm happy for the win and for the cardinal's win as well. :)

didnt get the saints game on tv here.(stupid time warner)

tho i saw the pick-strip-td and I have to say there was NO WAY he was down, and even if he was, the redskins shoulda/woulda got called for pass interference with that pick.

Looks like it was an awesome game tho, wish i coulda seen it ; ;

No crap lol, they virtually bowled over Shockey to get that INT completely cutting him off from the ball.

I showed it (both INT and fumble) to another Saints' fan and he went "OOOOOOOH I see what you mean. Meh." I saw it, a lot of others saw what I meant. But it doesn't matter at this point I guess.

I'll leave it at this. If you saw it that easily, then why didn't a ref see it who was looking at it for over 5 minutes with every angle, some which we didn't even see, who makes much more then we do?

I'm not criticizing your opinion, but if the refs would have screwed it, the league would have issued an apology as they do when a ref makes a terrible mistake.

Like I said, it's not really an issue now. As a lot of people say, things seem to sway more the winning team's way than the losing team. I mean, I've seen that highlight on ESPN, NFL Network, and during the halftime show last night and most of them say (mainly for the Sellers fumble) "I dunno, it looks like his elbow hit the ground before the ball was coming out" and some said for the Int-Strip-TD "Yeah, looks like he is touching the ground and the Saints player is touching his foot." I'm not even looking at the elbow, I'm looking at the forearm on the Sellers fumble. And again, if the Skins' kicker didn't miss the field goal, we wouldn't be having this conversation most likely lol.

But I'm not trying to get you to agree with me or anything. Just sharing what I saw in the game because no matter what I say, the Saints has the win. Just like how I saw the Colts-Pats game and thought it wasn't Bill's best idea to go for it on 4th-and-2 considering the Colts only had one Timeout.
