~*~*~* The Ups, and Downs of Square-Enix Game*~*~*~

Good: The many things that are so hard to get that they seem impossible, and then the feeling of accomplishment and joy when you finally obtain one.

Bad: Getting D/C'd at the exact most inopportune time so you lose any hope of obtaining such goal until you can rally together 17 other kind souls to accompany.

D/C's were my only bane in the whole FFXI experience for me.

Good: Ability to play multiple jobs from the same character & have subjobs, creating a variety of combinations.

Bad: We still seem to find the same jobs with the same subs... think PLD/WAR for a severe example.

I like the way you think :O

Good what you said

Bad: Removed Cure 5 from RDM a long time ago
Depop System
Gilsellers make this game less fun, This a big one
forcing most melee jobs /nin at the max level
crafting "luck" 0/40 HQ amemet ftw -.-
lots of areas lack usefullness to them, I.e The BCNM areas in sky where
You ONLY fight 1 Ark angel and then that area is useless..
Where are the Beastmen Seal 99 Fights??? ;\
Difficulty in last CoP/Zilart boss fights, Promathia was a joke... I like
hard shit.
Remember When SE released CoP the missions were really tough and
Then SE nerf the difficulty, they still hard but nowdays people just get
There lv 75 friends to help them and its so easy.

did i say Gilseller already? D:

There is a ton more good/bad.. im at work and bored thanks for reading!

Good: The Partying System

Bad: The Partying System

Good: The Search Comment System - Many games that lack rudimentary player-party search systms are a pain in the ass to progress through. EverQuest, for example, pre-LFG search list was complete fail. Sitting around, shouting for parties/members. With this, you can somewhat-freely do whatever you wish while seeking.

Bad: The lack of flexibility of the Search Comment System - Needing to be on the job you're searching on is completely asinine. The limited character space/inability to automatically inform searchers of requirements being met/lacked to go to certain places, the inability to display available subjobs automatically, etc. is as if the system has two broken legs and two broken arms. In a game where the party system is fairly complex, basic information just isn't enough sometimes.

Even if they just added the ability to search as multiple jobs, that alone would be a huge boon for the system.

Oh I like this game... :)

Ok, ok the good: When Clocian shout's in Jeuno MIKE JONES!!! and I shout back WHO??? And we go back in forth. :)

The bad: It pisses everyone else off or wait is that the good. :D

The Good: Being able to interact with other that you let home when you moved instead of sending stupid emails you can actually "do" something with them.

The Bad: Realizing in order to find the job you wanna play with you've spent 20 days of your life... now realizing as you just get to lvl 50 and spend 12 more days of your life, your not even close to 75 /cry...

Good: the sheer amount of Jobs and job/sub combos, and the ability to switch between everything at will.

bad: VERY time consuming

Good: The graphics. The interface. The fact that I don't HAVE to use the mouse. The fact that console people don't HAVE to use a keyboard. The community. The lovingly translated mob names (Hobgoblin Extrapolators or whatnot.... always makes me smile). The logical yet challenging levelling system. The storyline that half the people who play this game spam through.

Bad: Exp grinding. Gil grinding. Waiting in lines 20 people deep at endgame for one piece of gear that you then realize you need 5 more pieces of, then being discriminated against because you haven't gotten that gear yet. Not being able to share rare/ex items between characters on the same account. That damned level-capped rank 3 mission. Botters/stuff "spawning purple." Al Zhabi lag.

Good: Non-Elvaan

Bad: Elvaans

Fixed. Seriously, how do you manage to make that bad of a typo?

There's nothing wrong with the chicky Elvaans. And, in a preemptive responce to any and all people who disagree with this statement, I have but one word for you: Prishe. That is all.

Prishe was stuck in the body of a child, before she grew into her horse face.

Good: Drk

Bad: Drg

I'm such a bad ass ^^

Edit: For those of you who take this post seriously and don't know what sarcasm is, I've taken both jobs up high enough to know how good they really are.

Exactly. You can be pedo for elvaans, but you can't be... the word's not 'normal,' but I'm not sure what to use instead....

Good: So many great friends.

Bad: I really don't know! I think there should be more excitement in taking down Gods & whatnot than just what there is.

Take down the Gods with people who actually enjoy doing it. Too many players just "clock in" long enough to do this, and their blah attitude kinda wears off on others.

Get away from the people who beat you to death with thier stats and accomplishments, and try killing just for the challenge.

Downs: The skill requirement in FFXI to attain the best gear stands no chance against the availability of time to players. In short lots of stuff in FFXi,atleast the kings and the hnms, don't require much skill at all. It's all about how much time you have and how many people you around who have nothing to do besides camp somethin for hrs n hrs.If a HNM had a respawn of 10 mins i'm sure most of the guilds would be loaded in leet gear because there isn't really much to learn. That is Enix being lazy and kinda slacking on the creativity part.Unlike that,in WoW,you need to master an encounter which can take 2 days or can take months,in order to progress. You need 40 people who are on top of the game and even one mistake can mess it all up.Along with that, the pvp in WoW requires tons of skill compared to the gear and job requirement of ballista in FFXI.

I dissagree with wolf's comment. It takes skill to do the things that mean more. Whm, is probably one of the only "laid back" jobs that requires some sort of literacy; is that not a skill? Brd is one of the only jobs you can get away with to 75 without skill. Just hit a couple macros and go to bed. soloing brings a whole new aspect in; you have to do damage AND mainheal yourself AND tank. this doesnt go for bst because their pets are the tanks, but other solo jobs require much skill to pull off great exp gain.

Good: The ability for certain jobs to solo all the way to 75 at will. There is also the part about where soloing = freedom = dont give a crap about gear.

Bad: the pressure PARTIES put on the members to be the best. I personally pressure the best too, but its for them to be able to do their best. If they are doing their best but still failing, we might do something different.
