Final Fantasy XI :(

Other wise I really don't play RPGs. I hate turn based games, KotOR is about the closest thing to a turn based game I've actually played. I can't stand the 'Battle Mode' and then taking turns. Its boring to me, i like to just whack shit. So stuff like fable and oblivion I like, FF games not so much.

So I guess any turn based game where you go into a battle mode or equivalent would be the worst rpg I've ever played. Behind FFXI of course D:

You hate turn-based games but you can play KotOR? Geez, that game is uber slow paced <_<

I like kotor because the enemies are on screen and you can chose if you want to attack or not etc, its not the pop up and you hit, i hit, you hit, i hit. I mean it still somewhat is in the background of the game mechanics, i just like that i didnt have to stop and pick a move everytime or watch 20 min attack sequences over and over. Also I was so pimp i killed everything in one swing of my lightsaber anyway.

I think its 'fairly' safe to say that since Sakaguchi stopped his work on Final Fantasy, nearly every one after IX has, does and will suck immensely compared to what they could have been. I believe Final Fantasy will actually reach its finale soon if certain measures are not taken, lol.
 
Final Fantasy 8, I guess. Nothing pulled me in to play it or keep me there.

I wouldn't say that. Possibly the numerical series, but if Compilation of FFVII, Ivalice Alliance, Dissedia, Final Fantasy Advance series, etc. are any indication, they'll keep churning out rehashes and "Based on" games for a long time.
And not all after IX have been bad. I throughly enjoyed FFX's battle system, and FFXII had some neat ideas. XII, however, had such a shitty storyline I didn't feel like playing it anymore.

My only complaint about blue dragon so far is the sheer number of stuff you can check gets a little annoying at times(I had 521 nothings the first time I talked to the nothing guy). It's rewarding as hell to check it all, so I don't mind that much, but that's the only thing that's bothered me about the game. What's so wrong about the game that you think that no one could possible consider it a decent game? You're sounding like that retard Firestreak who's spouting off how horrible the game is based on barely playing a non-representative demo.

I didn't go into blue dragon thinking it was going to be the greatest RPG ever. I went into it based on actual reviews(hint: "it's shit, never play it" is not an actual review), that say it's like an old school rpg. It doesn't do anything amazingly well, but there's nothing really wrong with it. Admittedly, I'm only on the second disc so far, but based on everyone's reactions I'd have quit the game a few hours in.

If you hate the game, that's fine; but give a reason why when you're trying to invalidate opposing opinions.

I did like X-2's gameplay, but yeah... Nothing else. I liked X a bit, but it was more like "eh, its okay"

Final Fantasy VIII. Hands down, dumbest fucking game I've ever played. I agree with Baja for once that the only thing good about it was the graphics. And a hearty fuck you to everyone who said VII was the worst. Square hasn't put out anything as good as FFVII to date and I highly doubt they ever will.
 
Final fantasy mystic quest was pretty bad. I remember renting at blockbuster a while back just because it was a final fantasy game. I figured hey what the hell it has to be good since it's Final fantasy...boy was I wrong.

Anything saga frontier is bad too, accept one was pretty fun for a bit.

no, I believe we all noticed, just none of us actually cared enough/we already understood/werent grammar nazi's about it.

FFVII is not that great a game... All it really did was introduce FF to the 3D world along with giving it a new system. Thats about it. The story of 7 is just like any other decent RPG, its nothing special.

Plus, Im tired of people hanging off of sephiroths balls, most of which are pseudo goth/emo/"crazy" kids.

Sadly FFXII is maybe not the worst ever, but definitely the biggest disappointment. I've tried to get into that game soooo many times but I'd rather pull out FFIV and run around with horrible graphics on a 58" screen (really shows you how bad it looks lol) than I would play 5 minutes of XII even though it's perty...

Btw don't know why everyone hates VII, that was badass when it came out.

If you are implying games degrade over time, thats just dumb. Obviously something thats 10 years old isn't gonna match to newer games in graphic and shit, but just cuz its old doesn't mean its not good anymore.
 
FF7 is not a horrible RPG, it's just popular to dump on it because so many people consider it the epitome of RPG's. At the time it was incredible, but now it's fairly average; it's just receiving extra hate because it helped spawn the emo trend and because of it's rabid fanbase, most of which never played the much more timeless SNES RPG's. It's basically the halo of it's time.

A whole horrible series is SE's Saga series. Saga Frontier 1 and 2, and unlimited saga all sucked.

games do degrade over time because so many new things pop up to make the older things look bad. I am not implying anything about graphics > gameplay or any of that crap. THATS dumb. I never said the game was bad, either.

But I did say its nothing special, and it isnt. It is the game thats known for bringing FF into the 3D world and introducing a new system. Theres really nothing at all special about 7 other than that
