gear is almost completely diffent. I still dont see big deal with 1 str like quitita said wait 3 more lvl and get a commander cape seem like a much better buy and spend that mil toward new rings. Unless you have a endless supply of gill like oden :P then spend to your heart content you can afford it

Attack+15, no matter how close to the breakneck attack vs. defense difference you're attack, is still far too valuable to pass up infavor for +3 to 2 other stats your job doesn't use.

It's not just the STR+3. It's the STR+3 and the Attack+15 that make this cape what it is.

Let's me toss up two things here. Ghosts, and Defense ignoring skills.

Ghosts. We all hate them. No amount of attack will cause someone to do good damage to a Ghost close to thier level. These, along with a couple other mobs, aren't DEF loaded. But they do have high Vitality. This is where you absolutely need STR. Example: in the same PT I parsed logs in, I nailed a Raging Fists that did 650 damage on a Ghost. Needless to say, this is an incredibly rare occurance, as Asuran Fists rarely reaches 400 damage. Raging Fists is a STR heavy Skill, where as Asuran Fists gains no damage modifier from TP, and very little STR Mod. This is why you see Samurai go batshit crazy on them with SA weaponskills. High. Strength. Mods.

Defense ignoring weaponskills, why they suck: Simply put. Sure, they ignore defense.... but not Vitality. The more STR you have, the more VIT you can overcome, therefore increasing the power of these skills. The aptitude of these skills is really for if you get hit by an amazing Attack Down skill, but have a high STR score to cannon this through the crippling effects of Acid Mist, Terror Touch, and Whatnot.

 ya you right been fighting over the str part so long forgot about the attack

if u really think about it....you will prolly see 1 foragers per 10-20 amemet +1. In my opinion amemet should be like 400-500k tops. But we cant really control what people pay now can we :D . Any i really think foragers should be more personally. It seems to be just as rare as gigant mantle, and thats 6-8 mil.

he does have a point though you spending 1 mil on 1 more str when you can put that 1 mil on another items like new ring, weapon and make better ajustments in other slots. Now with he saying that having 1 is stupid, I belive is stupid thinking, but if he ment that the gil can go to better places and if you have everything you want then buy the 1 extra str that is good thinking. I think this is what he ment by that just his wording is a little off

Retract your claim, because you're lying.

How can I lie when I have the results right infront of my face? How can I possibly lie when the logs were recored autmatically as they were dumped into the directory?

Get off your high horse. Accuracy isn't the god stat. It peaks out. If you cannot believe that, seriously, you're the idiot. Continue to sink money into accuracy equipment.

He had 10% more accuracy than you. You each took 100 swings. He hit 90. You hit 80. Fact.
Let's say he hits for 70. 70*90=6300 damage total. You: X*80=6300 damage to tie him. You did 79 damage per hit to tie him. 80 to beat him by 80 damage over 100 hits.

I hope you're lying, because the only alternative is that you're too stupid to note the real differences between him and you. They were BLATANTLY more than one strength point and some accuracy.

That's a fact at this point. You're done.

At that level, 1 million or so for a +1 stat increase is CHEAP. The level 72 rings are like 200k for the NQ and 2-3 million for the HQ iirc and the Cursed -1 is usually 2-3x+ the cost of the NQ.

Hellstorm, throughout this topic, people have been saying that +1 STR for 1 mil is a better deal than +1 STR almost anywhere else. I already said that I could go to 75 without spending any money on gear, and still not be gimp. For a lot of people at the endgame, the only way to improve on their gear is to buy a +1, which is generally a lot more than 1 mil difference. Peregrine is blindly assuming that everyone who buys that has gimped gear that could be cheaply upgraded. He's flat out saying that the forager's mantle is a waste of gil no matter what you're wearing.

Skaw, if you can either translate the parsed data or send it to someone who can do it for you, that would put an end to the topic pretty simply.

there aren't many places at that lvl you can add 1 str for a mil.

ruby rings 150k 4 str/flame rings 2.5mil 5 str
minuet earring 1 str/triump earring 5.5mil
amemit mantle+1 1.3mil 2 str/foragers 2.5 mil 3str

i don't think there are other places to upgrade str from what is available. the people buying foragers are usually those set with gil. their craft or whatever is earning them gil is maxed out and they are looking for the extras.

peregrine is very clear that he thinks people with foragers. you don't have to make excuses for his foolishness, your stance is similar, but not closed minded to those that can afford it to go ahead and get the BETTER piece of equipment.

Whats recorded was recorded. I'm not making it up. We had double minuet and berserk on most of the time. Our Attack value was doing pretty much all it can. It relied entirely on Strength.

It's also averages his 10% misses could've fallen majority on his Berserk period, and mine in my nonberserk period. Quit giving extremes.

...When people who buy forager's mantles for 2.6 million gil aren't waste of ping.

And it's silent...go back to discussing what exactly a forager's mantle does for you. If you think it does something physically parsable, try again. I'll accept one and only one answer.

Again, you argued the impaction of the Forager's Mantle over the Amemet+1. I gave you an example. I did do more damage in melee than Makzilla. He did more skill damage than me, as he got off more weaponskills from hitting more frequently. He did end up overtaking me in the end because of that.

No where did I say the +1 STR lead to me ownz0ring him like you're causing yourself to believe, but rather that in every single nonskill hit, I did more damage. 80 damage over 1000 fights. 80% Accuracy vs. 90%. Both of our totals in the mid 145000's. 8k out of 145000. While not a large part, is still significant over the time.

What the fuck else do you want? You're looking at averages, and applying them to a single fight. It's not necessarily doing 8 damage more than him every hit, but rather bringing up 8k damage over his melee damage.

Quit bringing in definant numbers in a game based off ranges.

It's silent because I was doing what Cubs asked me to do. Sorry for you know.. not F5ing a message bored every 30 seconds. Find something else to do inbetween replies.

Anyway, time for dinner, I'm not "disappearing" because you're right, and I'm wrong. Please deflate your ego a few notches.
