A 'Cannon Party' is not a Pld, Drg, Sam, Sam, Blm, and Smn.
A 'Cannon Party' is not a Rdm, Smn, Whm, Blm, War, and War.
etc...

Just... Stop...
Just because you have 3 random melee, or a Bard, or 2 Wars in a party, doesn't mean you have a Cannon.

Cannon =
3 High output DD (War, Mnk, Nin)
1 Healer (Rdm or Whm)
1 Party Enhancer (Brd or Cor)
1 Added Party Enhancer or High output DD.

Examples of a Cannon:

War, War, War, War, Brd, Whm.
Nin, Mnk, Mnk, War, Cor, Rdm.
Nin, War, War, Brd, Brd, Cor.

Edit: Actually my gripe is more with substandard parties doing only 4k/hr claiming to be a "Cannon".

I'm for mixed Parties, I just hate the people mislabling them.

In ToAU areas when XPing anything under 5500/hr isn't worth anyone's time and when you're talking about merits that goes up significantly.

Just... ignore them? I mean, is it so upsetting when people mislabel themselves that it merits a flameboard topic about it? The easiest way to "correct" them is to show them what a real cannon looks like ie driving out a group of slowpoke scrubs camping at the north camp in Thix. Let them call their 6k/hr pt a cannon, just make your 15k/hr+ real cannon and do your thing, lol.

LOL when I read this I was thinking..."Hey I called the pt I had this morning that LOL"

pt was Nin, Drk, Thf, War, Brd, Rdm then changed to Nin, Nin, Drk, Thf, Brd, Rdm.

so what do we call these makeshift pts(which in this one was very good) exp an hour was about judging from previous 10k tnl and my 6k of my 7k buffer on 63. about 8-9k an hour?

somethin I hate more than people mislabeling party types, is people that will ONLY party with certain jobs, in certain areas. People seem to forget that other jobs/older area's exist, and refuse to level unless the pt has/is:

NIN, WAR, WHM, BRD and sometimes RDM (which are the cookie jobs in ffxi, now)

People think that any PT other than this isnt a pt at all, and unless youre pt'ing in aht urghan area's, your pt isnt worth the time. Its worse than the jp onry people.

Yeah.. because people would rather go back to the 6k/hr average in the days before ToAU... than building a proper cannon in a ToAU zone and getting 15k/hr+? That makes sense.

see, this is what I mean. Not everyone in game is one of those 4 jobs, lol, but people seem to think they should be. Lets remove all jobs in FFXI except for NIN, WAR, BRD and WHM. That should be PERFECT. No offense meant to you, but the other jobs have to lv some way
