Movie Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen - Spoilers Within

just got back from this a few hours ago...definately not disappointed by the robots/explosions. all of the bad reviews on this movie surround a "lack of story"...pfft. who needs a story line when you have awesomeness transforming into even more awesomeness.! besides, its transformers. who gives a damn about story line?!

quick question though. i believe i know the answer, but i want to make sure. the name of the aircraft carrier that was destroyed was the uss stennis? right? if so, didnt the captain in charge of the aircraft showed later on, named the stennis also?

also, with the ending, there is definately another movie coming. but again...where is blackout?

bumble bee and optimus were badasses in this one even more so than before

No one said it yet so I will. The best bot in the movie was the Chick in his Room. I totally wigged out when i found out she was a bot..

Sorry if this is a back to back post.

I feel the same way about the story.. This could have been 2 1/2 hours of nothing more then robots fighting and cool explosions and it would have still been great. Eh.. Thats kinda what it was. lol.

Just to please the side of me that wants to complain.. The Fallen was added to this movie in such a stupid way. Man it was really dumb.

Also what the faaak was with the museum scene? They enter a museum in DC, blow up the back door and they are in some Grand Canyon type backdrop airport thing.. Wtf.. lol.

Holy.

Shitballs.

Batman.

Wow, that was full of both awesome and win.

Oh, and my commander has about 15 seconds of face time towards the end of the movie when the military rolls in for the finale. He was on the crew that was tasked with flying for the production company.

Don't click the fucking spoiler if you're expecting a good review.

Spoiler:
I wasn't fucking impressed at all. It's like every human pulled a Halle Berry and demanded more lines. Only 3 fucking Autobots had more then one sentence through out the entire fucking movie.

Good to know. I'm not a Transformers geek, and especially not a Bay fan, so I suppose I'll just wait for the DVD to come out for this gem.

Read on, dear sir:

Key point about ROTF:

More Transformer airtime, specifically the Decepticons.

I mean, the film *is* called "Revenge of the Fallen" - not "Return of the Autobots" :D

Spoiler:
It makes sense that the older bots like Jetwave had built-in transwarp generators like those in space bridges. I thought it was awesome.

I think Osyris was referring more to the fact that the back door to the hanger at the smithsonian wich is right smack in the middle of washington DC, had an airfield right outside that was seemingly in a arizonian climate, as if they werent in DC anymore.

I dont mind the plot hole, but I hate Michael Bay's refusal to address them, or more so his willingness to include them.

Example: first movie, first scene in Mission City.... Bay hand-picked the street outside The Orpheum, probably the most notable, historic concert hall in all of los angeles.

That being said, if you're going for plot line and not giant robots kickin the shit out of each other, youre not doing it right.

Oh, you mean the change of landscape from the Air and Space Museum Annex outside Dulles Airport, which was being shown as the actual Air and Space Museum on the Washington Mall, to Davis-Monthan Airport's Boneyard?

Yeah, I let it go for the sake of filmmaking, but it did get under my skin a little.

Also, the film got the aircraft carriers swapped. They billed CVN-74 as the USS Theodore Roosevelt and CVN-71 as the USS John C. Stennis; they're actually reversed.

the first carrier was actually supposed to be an autobot. but they scratched it for whatever reason. i suppose that, since its a water based vehicle, it would mainly be used in a small scene and be destroyed in that same scene. and if it wasnt destroyed, it would play very little importance in the rest of the film

obviously, optimus is going to have majority of the lines out of all autobots. but then you also have the twins. thats three. bumblebee still has voice issues but he still had 2 seperate occasions of using radio fro communication. jetwave, originally a decepticon but turned autbot has many. the RC truck has many. iron hide has a couple occasions of talking. ratchet, i think only had one line really? and one of the motor cycles had maybe 2 lines throughout the whole movie. out of all of them, 3 didnt have lines. however, if you look at it, there were many more robots talking in this one, than the first one. out of, what? a dozen to two dozen robots this time? and, they didnt even implement all of them.

if you compare the movie to something such as a good action movie that has a decent amount of fight scenes. and say that movie is a highly rated movie in your opinion... out of all those people in those fight scenes, how many people actually have any line? once you start giving every single person more than one line, it makes the movie up to an hour longer. im glad they talked as much as they did

Saw it at IMAX, yeah, it's exactly what I expected, kickass special effects, very dumb plot. I was glad that Optimus was so badass in this, and the fights were well done.

I really wish Devastator was more of a threat, I was so happy when I saw him, was dissappointed when he barely did anything in the movie. And Soundwave needed his robotic voice, but the Dr. Claw sounding voice was still good, considering the same guy used to do both of those. Ravage was fun to see, and Wheelie was decent comedy.

Those 2 thug robots needed less lines, they just were really annoying.

Aw, man, I loved the twins!

FAR more than I thought I would lol...

Also, Arcee and her sisters delivered despite lack of a lot of lines :)

"Thats because you's, a pussy"

Lol the twins were awesome

I look forward to seeing this on Saturday. Not because I'm looking forward to it, but so I can refill my "Michael Bay is a shitbrick Uwe Boll with a bigger budget" tank. It'll give me something to complain about for months, which is worth the matinee ticket price.

Fully agree with this.

Also, I thought that Avatar movie was a fucking joke on the internet. I didn't think it was going to be real.

The Happening didn't finish him off. Shyamalan has at least one more round of suck left in him before they stake the heart and cut off his head.

Like the original, I'm not going to see this until it comes out on HBO, because I think the concept is extremely stupid. I thought the first movie ended up being pretty bad, though it had enough entertainment value to not change the channel, I have no idea what the fuss was about. From what I heard about this movie, it's like the first movie, but moreso. Can't rightly make a judgement til I see it for myself though.

Does anyone know if they have released how much this movie has grossed in and where i could find it.
