Uggalepih Pendant VS Elemental Torque

More by the fact that I went an ENTIRE Kirin fight without a single unresisted nuke, while BLMs with much lesser gear would be resisted with much less frequency.

Also looking ro see if anyone has more definitive tests on INT vs Ele for resist builds. Or if I shouldnt hold my breath and go do my own experiments from scratch.

blms still nuke kirin?

here's one of my favorite things as blm on mobs like kirin cerb khim ect. use ES and full MAB/INT gear everytime ES is rdy to get in some nice nukes so even if you are getting resisted a lot you still get to see nice numbers once in a while.

in ~340 elemental magic skill and a bunch of INT I've been moderately successfull on cerb/khim recently as I haven't nuked kirin in years. MAB has no effect on resists so ya I just put on all the elemental magic gear I have followed by INT and -enmity for mobs which resist a lot, seems to work decent. testing resists is hard due to the large amount of luck involved and SE adding in the resistance build up thing which scews all your results but good luck I'd be interested in somone actually modeling it with equations.

I bet that the BLMs are tarutarus =p

Hmm, Sanoske can you update this post after you have manage to find/test some information out? I might try it out myself but I myself is a BLM and have at least did a full damage aero IV with like 320++ elemental skill ( can't remember it of my mind). I guess luck is a factor in it. But than once again.. i am a tarutaru =p

Pretty sure the extra couple of INT you get doesn't help you much on resists taru. :P

It does however, lower your resistance vs. punting. >.>

Kirin doesnt work like HNM, it resists. Also if you are getting a lot of resist on a HNM get better gear lol.

So sorry... i will throw tenkax at you!

Back to topic, hmm have any one do extensive testing on black mage merit potency spell? I knew that potency spell increases the damage of that element and is easy to verify but does it actually increase the accuracy of the spell. Well.. potency can mean the potency for more damage AND less resist. Anyone test it out before <.<?

Best way to cut down resists is with a BRD singing Etudes. Next time you're at Kirin try some Aero3 with Errant hpl+other INT and ele gear.

No.

Goddamn you Hashbrown, have I taught you nothing!?

And you were suppose to be my successor... >_> lol yea right
F this, I have to come back... soon <_<

1 merit upgrade gives you +2 magic potency of the corresponding element
+2 magic potency = +2 MAB
MAB=/=Acc.

& also just to make things clear for others 2MAB=/=2%

Edit*

you misunderstand with ES it doesn't resist at least it never has for me, I don't have problems with resists this was for the guy I was quoting.

guess i need to ask more stupid question! When are you coming back >.<?

Anyway my point was that if anyone could confirm that the potency only give you MAB only?

Me too, all the cool kids are doing it.

I cant say what is optimal. I've been playing around with INT vs Ele skill lately. (old news I know, but never any definite info)

On Kirin, which is the only high level monster I fight regularly, My Ele Build puts me at 324 skill and + 40 INT. (With Auster's) I went an entire fight the other night without landing an unresisted nuke. So clearly... I still have a ways to go.

Unless Kirin has a much higher magic resistance than other monsters? I'm naive on this subject.
I go with 319 Skill +6 Macc and 84+41 INT (+5 from food) and see quite a few resists early in Kirin fights, but after astral flow I don't see many resists.

just bump this up.. recently i fight alot of sky pops. When i fight Seiryu i have a full damage of about 4/6 and 1/6 partial resist when i do the rest of the god, i have a full damage of 0-1/6 and about 0-2/6 half resist damage. None of them is Kirin. The difference between Seiryu and the rest of god is Elemental skill +10 and Int +5 which give my elemental skill a 335 and a int of 116 wherea the rest of them will be 325 and a int of 111. All the staves used are HQ.
