The new layout looks great. Donated some moneys your way, keep up the great work :) I cannot wait for this game to come out on PS3 so I can enjoy the game for the first time like everyone else

looks ok to me. The color palette is simple and does not hurt my eyes. That's the important part. But yeah, wait for a bit before bitching I'm sure they're working on something lol.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean no one likes it. If you don't like it, that's your opinion and that's too bad. But don't say it doesn't give a good first impression because others may or may not like it.
 
Imo the default themes for the old board were meh at best :p This one is nice, clean and simple.
 
I like this theme...

Also, Cid. Give them a chance to get use to the new version, then they will make new themes I'm sure lol.
 
Thank you everyone for the donations!

I'm glad things are going well so far. A lot of people took a lot of time thinking about the pro's and con's of our actions and while some of the other options were damned good in their own right -- we hope we picked the one that will the best for everyone as we transition to FFXIV.

This is something I agree with and would like to point out. There's no reason to come to Eosun, over any other of the dozens of fansites that will pop up in regards to XIV, like they did to come to QCDN. QCDN was never really about XI, it was the Quetz community and our own personal view of the game, and of issues specific to us. Without that focus, Eosun will just get lost to sites that have bigger draws for simplicity's sake.
 
Well, we are choosing an official server for our community when the time comes :) For open beta it was Lindblum. If they change the names again, it will be something else, either way, the concept of this forum is the same. A forum for a particular server for FFXIV/FFXI.
 
yeah i don't think this is about competing with other FF14 sites. many of us are making the transition so why not shift the site over to the new game. this is our place and we're making it reflect our new gathering game of choice. we're keeping with the old QCDN favorites and sections. but nowhere near as many of us play 11 anymore. there is always a time to move to the next step, like i recently did. i like that the site is still reflecting the FF game that we are all moving to for the most part.

I think you misunderstood me and I didn't take what you said offensive at all so don't think this is me being upset or anything.

I know it's a FFXIV community site and not just a server specific one; so was QCDN to tell you the complete truth because we had people from other servers around on occasion. What I'm saying is that it will still be a server specific site IF everyone goes to the same server. I don't know how much eosun will spread outside of that server if everyone does go to Lindblum or whatever. Right now, I'm not even completely sure if I'll be on Lindblum, Selbina, whatever server Quetz picks, or if I'll even be playing the game. If it spreads to more than just server specific, then more power to it. But right now I just don't see it happening especially if everyone goes to the same server.

That and I was saying that I liked server specific forums because I thought it was unique, but I do perfer the name "Eorzea Sun" over something like "Lindblum Sun."

Reality Sinks In has been merged with what we call "The Tavern" now. Both of the forums at the time were being used essentially for the same thing and it was confusing for most people, so the decision was made to create one off topic forum for everything.
 
Wait... we're a generic FXIV site now?

Jesusmaryandjoseph, why the hell am I still posting here? I'm not picking that game up. Are we just storing our Quetz archives on some random XIV forum as a vestigial novelty?

Well that's not true as I've noticed all old flameboard material has vanished. And before you ask, yes every now and then I liked to pick a random number go to that page on the the fb and read the most interesting looking topic.
