What anime are you watching/reading?

So before I get into it all...which series should I start watching? Wing was the first I heard about to be honest and I don't know if there are any before it...

another question is...where can I download/watch these?

Okay, so I finished watching Madlax last night. I have to say it was really really good. It turned into more than I was expecting at first and the twist at the end was very interesting. I still think the music is amazing and I have started to enjoy the OP and ED now, they still aren't as great as the music played during each episode.

Lots of action, a few hot babes doing said action. Also it leaves you very confused about what exactly the story is for a good half of the anime, but it all starts to tie in and when it all comes together it is really done well. There are some sad parts, just a few though toward the end.

I suggest this to anyone who is thinking about watching or owning Madlax. It's definitely worth it.

It depends, usually you can jump into absolutely any Gundam series without prior knowledge. However, I suggest starting with the original 1979 series (43 episodes), then go to Zeta, ZZ and so on. Basically, start with the UC timeline. Wikipedia will help you out on which series go where.

Also, for Gundam series, Bandai usually releases two anime legends box sets of Gundam series, so, for example, 2 of Zeta (25 episodes per set) 2 of G Gundam, 2 of SEED, 2 of Wing, and so on. However, not all the Gundam series have been brought to the US yet, so for some like ZZ and Victory Gundam, you'll need to download/torrent them.

Thanks Gerry...I started off watching Wing...gonna go check Bestbuy and some anime shops if they have any of the other box sets and may as well start up my anime collection now since well I'm getting sick comp soon =D.

appreciate the help!

I have been steamrollering through my new anime recently. Finished up watching Strawberry Panic, My-Otome and My-Otome Zwei which were all awesome in their own way.

Currently watching Gurren Lagann, and am 10 episodes through the 27 I think there is. Enjoying it so far which i'm glad about considering I bought this series based on its popularity and reviews of people I don't know lol.

Just finished watching Time of Eve: ep04 from director of the award winning 1 off Pale Cocoon, yasuhiro yoshiura and love every minute of it. It’s a far step from my usual anime but the art work, characters and story are just amazing. Check it out!

Also currently watching Welcome to the NHK! (would also recommend this, good for a laugh)

I've decided to start watching the works of Rumiko Takahashi, so, that basically means, InuYasha, Ranma 1/2, and most famous of all, Urusei Yatsura.

At times I find myself going into the Shojo demographic to find something good, and I usually do. Watching Magic Knight Rayearth by, who else, CLAMP.

Well, I finished Love Hina on Friday. I really enjoyed it, I think it was the first actual romance/comedy I've seen that just involved "regular" people. Plus I had been wondering about it for a long time now. The only thing I dislike about these type of animes is that, as with the case of Love Hina, they leave you wanting to see what comes next in the lives of the characters. I mean, I'm sure there's a lot more that can and could go on now that those two seem to have accepted each others feelings for each other. I'd like to see that.

There's no real definitive ending to the anime, and while I really enjoyed it (the anime), those kinds of endings just bug me.

I do love that they go into each characters background a little bit to let the watcher get to know the characters. I also really enjoyed the whole little mystery thing about Urashima's childhood at the Hinata Hot Springs.

All in all, considering that this anime is actually quite a bit old, it still was a lot fun to watch. I'm happy I own it.

Have you seen the Xmas, Spring and Love Hina.. Again Specials?
The latter adds a little more of a satisfying end to it while the others are just fanservice/filler imo but certainly carry on the story if only a little. They have released all 3 in a set now, or at least my UK version is like that (with 3 discs). I suggest picking that up if you havn't.

After finishing My-Otome, I decided to rewatch My-HiME again which made me realise how much I liked it the first time round. I'm thinking of either watching Moonphase now, or possibly re-watching Kaleidostar or Ai Yori Aoshi again since those are 2 of my top 5 anime's and love them to bits lol

Nope, haven't heard of those specials but it sounds like I'll have to check them out if I can find them.

Well.. I'm completely out of new anime to watch and I'm broke. So.. gonna be a lil while before I pick up anything new.

Finished the Gundam Wing series and even watched Endless Waltz. It was an awesome series ^^.

Prolly going on to G-gundam next!

I finished up Madlax a few nights ago. The music is very well done. Did you notice the gate sound effects are the same sound effects for the Warp Points in .hack//-all-? Probably so. Overall I enjoyed the show but it was nothin' like I expected, it just never got deep enough on a character level to make me care about them, any of them. Same could be said for Noir though. I just started watchin' El Cazador de la Bruja, the final installment of the Bee Train trilogy and it's much more to my liking. It has a lot of throwbacks to Noir and Madlax and atm seems to be more of a parody of the two. Really cool, especially if you have seen the other two series so I'd recommend it to you.

The music is very well done, if you've seen .hack//Sign then I'm sure you can tell it has to be the same artist. You know I didn't noticed the thing about the gate and the warp points.. I'd have to watch it again with that in mind.

You are right though, it wasn't anything like I was expecting either. Which turned out to be a good thing. And as far as the characters, I said there were sad parts, but not that they made me tear up or anything. People dying can be sad, considering the roles they played. The only two characters you really kind of get to know are Madlax and Margaret and...
Spoiler:
since Margaret is broken for 98% of the anime..
you don't really get to feel much for Margaret until the end. So Madlax's story bits held more of my interest and appeal, plus she's hot.

Okay, so I picked up VanDread over a week ago and finally started watching it last night. I've watched the first 7 episodes so far and it seems like a pretty cool anime. Definitely has fan service.

I like the idea of the two sexes living in completely different environments (and planets) and actually being enemies, but what I'm looking forward to is if they go into detail about how this occurred since it has been mentioned that men and women lived together at some point in the anime's past. It's a interesting concept for an anime. The only thing I don't get is how the kid, Hibiki, could so easily maneuver the mech without any experience at all. Sure, he's "moving it with his mind" but you'd think that would require some kind of training. Not just willpower.

I'm looking forward to discovering just why Hibiki is special, he's got some kind of link to something that he isn't aware of (and at this point, neither am I).

Finished watching Vandread. Excellent anime, definitely a very colorful anime. I really enjoyed the story and it seemed like just about every episode explained a character or delved into the story somehow.

I was actually surprised to find that this is a 2001 anime, considering the cg parts of the anime actually weren't an eyesore (and there's a fair amount of cg).

I suggest this anime to everyone who might be curious about checking it out, or if you like non-technical mecha anime and aren't bothered when characters can just suddenly use a mech without ever seeing it before. (really, it's a minor thing in the grand scheme of the anime's story)

Next up! Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple (Season 1, part 2). Finally it's been released in stores and I can watch the rest of this really awesome and funny martial arts anime. I am so looking forward to seeing how Kenichi develops, and if he'll ever grow a pair big enough to score with Miu. Plus.. I'm looking forward to just watching Miu since she's badass eye-candy. Part 1 was awesome, I hope the rest of the series holds up or is even better.
