Well.. Finished up part 2 of Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple. (Also know as History's Strongest Disciple, or so I have found out).
And with that I come to realize, this is a fairly long series since it still isn't over yet. I've heard it's something like 50 episodes long and finishing "part 2" leaves you with 26 episodes watched.
So it looks like Funimation is going to milk this series, quite possibly with a part 3 and part 4. Which they will likely called Season 2, part 1 and part 2... even though, it's all the same season. -_-
This really pisses me off because I really enjoy this series and now I have to wait even longer before I can get to the end. Funimation better freaking license the rest of the series too, or I will be even more pissed. I thought this was gonna be the wrap up of the series since I wasn't aware that it was such a long series. (Most average series have about 24-26 episodes per season).
While I am thankful the series doesn't just stop where it left off, (god that would have been horrible) I want to watch the complete series. Ugh, waiting months at a time for the next "collection" release sucks.
The series itself is just awesome though, the show gets you really into the characters. Most specifically Kenichi, for obvious reasons. The more I watch the show the more I'm looking forward to seeing how Kenichi grows and becomes stronger. Not to mention there's plenty of fan service thrown in. It's not like they go, here have boobs (well.. they do, but they're covered and do offer... well.. a little tiny bit to the imagination, though not too much. lol.) At any rate, the boobs in this show often come with some funny jokes about them, as well. This shows got it all: comedy, plenty of action, a little romance, and a few particularly stacked anime babes. (really, there's only 2, but that's all you need with this anime).
The story is pretty badass too, nothing overly complex. Boy is wimp, wants to become stronger, stumbles upon hot ass kicking girl, gets to know girl and know her 'family', 'family' happens to composed of the most deadly martial arts masters in the world, boy trains with masters to become stronger but is still a wimp though gradually becomes more of a man and actually gets strong but doesn't usually realize it, local gang takes notice, attacks boy, boy fights back and keeps ending up fighting tougher fighters from the gang.
It seems like he keeps fighting the gang until he has to fight their leader and that might be the climax of the over all show. Don't know yet, not even close to getting to that point yet. There's also a lot more to the story than what I relatively condensed, which adds to why I really like this show. Might seem like I summed up the story there, but really there's so much more to it than what I typed out. So many personalities (characters) that it's just really a great show.
