I will never have sympathy for a job whose most expensive piece of equip to 75 is a sword going for 800k.

Cry me a river.... & that's bs... I bought a damn Gluttony Sword when they were going for 3mil, plus General's Shield is 900k, proof enough to pop one of your balloons.

That one day paladins will be know as the number one tank job.

No body needs to be #1, except WHM for healing, but SE just didn't thoroughly weight NIN & PLD.

I wonder when BLU & COR are introduced which jobs will start crying this same tune....

I'm pretty content watching the river you are crying. Like Foo said, you were so solid in your stance in how great PLD is, now you want SE to balance things out. Make up your mind lol.

That's pretty funny. You exp for exp? This seems to me like you're saying manaburn parties slaughter and get mass exp and you think ninjas are inferior.

At what point did I say anything about Manaburns? Nice assumption. Fact is, I hate Manaburns. I do, however, enjoy oddball partys. Did a Nin, Sam, Sam, Blm, Blm, Rdm once on golems in Nexus. That was a lot of fun. Overall though, I'm a meat-and-potatoes kinda guy. Pld, ???, ???, Rdm, Whm, Blm.

To your other point, yes, IMO, Ninjas are shitty. I need a safe place to run to and get a cover when a Monster turns. I don't need to get ass raped while a Ninja (Glade) says, "Like there's anything I can do."

I'm not too sure what BLMs that can't pace themselves to the tank's enmity threshold don't understand.

This, crafting refresh drinks or NIN tools, added enmity from SATA...It's all extra information. The original question was simple. Which, out of Ninja and Paladin, do you prefer for XP? The results are in for this poll. Similar polls have resulted the same way.

first off, I've never been in a single good NIN party (no offense guys/gals)

The only fantastic parties I've been in have had Paladin tanks (which of course hold 10x more hate if you ask me, but meh)

I'm not gonna get into it right now, because I know someone will just flame my opinions in the end, so yeah...

PLD FTW!!!!

Lol Meeze, pay more attention or shaddap, cause you don't know what your talking about because you don't know what I've been talking about obviously. Like how a business tries to give better product or rates on services, I brought up strong points about PLD to find how many find NIN so uber & why so that the jobs pros & cons can be compared. After comparison is done, if there are any problems tweaks can be made. We all know it'll take a severe intervention from the almighty creator to get SE off their rears, but still this is a forum for discussions & debates, what would it be if we didn't have one of these?

So you have acknowledged that NIN is a better tank, and now want PLD to be its equal...lol even better. NIN 4tw!

Ya know, I am pretty 50/50. I have partied with some amazing ninjas, and some absolutly horrid ones. Ive partied with some amazing Paladins, and some even more astoundingly horrid ones.

Now, I did vote pally, why you may ask. Because in general I have seen more good pally's then good ninjas. However, that is in my limited experience. Now when I am making a pt, really I am just looking for what ever is there. My main is drg after all... beggers cant be choosers.

Now of course when I am the nin, I prefer nin tank, because what else am I gonna do...... look pretty..... well I do that anyhow.

As said a million times, good nin > good pld > bad pld > bad nin.

yeah and a whole 144 people voted. I hardly call that a deffinative answer.

Indeed. We need 5k votes minimum before this is legit.

YES!!!!

One meeeeeleeon and 1.

I like ninjas, a competent ninja working with a bard allows a RDM or WHM to haste all the melees.

As an addendum: this is only in an exp setting, endgame is completely different. Infact, in an endgame setting you can get rid of the two last categories completely, because they should just quit the game.

There's no way in hell I acknowledge NIN as being a better tank. A slight imbalance of power (namely dualing utsusemi ninjitsus) has caused NIN to produce faster exp gain for exp parties, this alone is the only thing I recognize for a NIN. PLD is still the more hardcore tank. A tank's job is to defend & keep party members alive, not to produce fast exp like NIN does currently (although it is nice). Paladin tank better (remember I've just defined tanking...), NIN can just perform enough of the duties of a tank job & produce more exp in a shorter time frame. Since this thread is about PLD vs NIN for exp parties, it has been said several times now that it would be nice for SE to even the playing field when it comes to speed of exp gain between the 2 jobs by altering their abilities, traits or items.

Whynot make every DD deal all the dmg the same? Thfs should obviously be hitting for as much as drks. The whole point in having different jobs is just that, they need to be different. Pld shines endgame, nin shines on the way up and merits. While we're at it, lets just give every job refresh, and attack bonuses. That way every job will get invites just like a bard.

Moral of the post: don't be ignorant. Every job has their purpose, pld's purpose is not the same as nin's. They fill similar party roles, but they are far from similar.

Have you played on many other servers? Have you played other MMORPGS? Gaming content can change from initial design at any time & it does, not to mention that what everyone believes about jobs or how they use them differs from one server to another. It is the players of Quetzalcoatl that have placed NIN on this exping platform. Where NIN is on Quetzalcoatl was not the original intended purpose created by SE. As far as giving everyone refresh, damage output or attack bonusus... lets not get childish...

They already gimped NIN already, they won't be doing it anymore. just cause you don't like the fact that NINs are better DDs then you don't mean they are gonna gimp it more for you, although ppl did bitch about rng and look what happend.

I think your just upset that you got to level 71 on a gimp job?

I prefer PLD tank, and yeah sure I might be biased but from the parties i've had with a NIN, i've only had one or two experiences where the hate control was "somewhat" under control.

I'd rather have the PLD who will tend to keep hate easily allowing the BLMs in the party to MB even with ancient magic, as opposed to having a NIN that if and when he/she loses hate, the health goes down a bit too fast.

Giving pld tools to work similarly to a nin would be doing exactly that. The reason many people prefer nin in exp parties is because of the way they work. What about drgs? They get slow invites, so why shouldn't they get abilities just like blms or mnks? That would certainly get them more invites. If you honestly like pld as much as you say you do, then you would realize what you're saying and slap yourself silly. Pld works the way it does because it's designed to work that way. Nin works the way it does because it's designed the way it is (even by accident). If pld was like a nin, why would anyone play nin? I could play pld, and get everything nin does, why on earth would I play nin?
