You do realize that the buyer would not be able achieve that status had you not put your item up for bids, making you the same as him. Btw way Excim the drug metaphor was spot on correct, plus we all know ffxi is a drugOk lets see if i can explain this any better...
There are 2 sides to every transaction... they buyer and the seller
The seller i dont care about because they are using what they made ingame to make their real life experience better. This goes from the gil for rice folks to the Sanoske type. I dont fault them for trying to make money off of other people's stupidity.
The buyer on the other hand is trying to achieve status within the community through trading RL money for in game stuff. These people should be discovered and chased away because we dont want those types of people in the game.. you know the type that absolution attracts who have no morals and will do anything to get ahead in the game.
Now i understand that the seller cannot exist without the buyer but if the buyers would go away the value for selling would be so minuscule that the sellers would stop all together.
So i maintain i don't care if people sell and profit off of others stupidity but... buyers need to be made an example of.

Well technically this not same argument. The argument here seem to be is the buyer as in same fault as the seller or is it hypocritical to burn the buyer yet be a seller.Well hay there guys.
This is the same old arguement that people went over in my flame. (And a few flames since then, I'm sure) The people who didn't like it back then, still don't like it now. And the people who didn't give a crap.... still don't give a crap.
At this point the only way someone is going to change their mind on the subject is if they quit, or get "hacked". Then they might not care so much or start caring a bit more, as the situation requires.
I'm really not sure why people continue to rehash this argument when all the points made are exactly the same. Yes, the situation may change slightly, but the same thoughts are coming from the same people.

Actually the drug argument kinda works for me as well... i don't think that drug dealers should be arrested they are just profiting off of a service that is requested. It is the drug users that are the problem.
As usual, skips all the other posts with other arguments.
Right, Drug Dealers hands are clean. How about when they get 1 pill and make 5 out of them, thus mixing 5 pills with random shit to fill it up, thus creating a drug that can kill someone, someone who thinks theyre getting a real ectasty pill? Theyre hands are totally clean.
Your a fucking idiot.
your a fucking idiot.
please list which points im missing i will answer all of them... if you want to be lazy even just list post numbers.
Fraud is different when your cutting the drugs and making bullshit out of it you are defrauding your customer and hell if you do drugs with any regularity i guarantee you know who you can buy from without having to worry about the quality.
When u make a reply in your defense and quote just one post of the numerous that have been made before your previous post, its obvious you skip over what u dont want to address.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a pure drug anymore, dealing is a business. You think dealers care about who they sell to? No, they care about maximizing profit, and to do that they split drugs and commit what u call "Fraud". How can u call them frauds then say they shouldnt be punished?
You dont even have to answer that as its off topic, but really man just the fuck up and quit posting.
I'm not sure how to quote here so pardon my ignorance.
Dejavu says here: The buyer on the other hand is trying to achieve status within the community through trading RL money for in game stuff.
This is an assumption made about the buyer. Maybe the buyer intends to sell it for a higher price? Maybe the buyer just wants to play by themself?
I don't play anymore so I don't support any particular opinion. However making assumptions doesn't support your point Dejavu.
