well, there is a bit of difference.
people are BORN with different colored skin (which cant be changed unless you are some kind of freak like Micheal Jackson), where as, people CHOOSE to be gay or straight.

to insult someone or be demeaning towards their skin color is being racist, making fun of someones choice of sex partners is not.

Well, gay is a modern day colloquialism, you should expect people to say it in almost any form.

But I don't hear people saying "You did so & so, so you must be a black". However I do hear people say "Nigger" or the more accepted term "Nigga"(Which would be another modern day colloquialism).

I think if you call someone a Nigger or a typical black person, you should AT LEAST make sure they're black first.

I said gay ppl are not a race to be racially discriminated against and beyond that is a debate of opinion. The great thing about opinions are that we are allowed to have our own. But it is a fact that gay people are not a race just like ppl who rape children are not a race just like ppl who have sex with animals are not a race. And NO I'm not saying they're all the same. I'm saying they're not races it is equally stupid to try and compare them to being racially targeted.

And let me make this VERY clear. It depends on who you are speaking to. The only reason some were offended by what I said is because there were some gay ppl in the audience. Was I directing it at you? No. If you don't think being gay is a bad thing then why get offended at someone being called gay in a negative way? Who gives a shit that the person speaking NOT TO YOU think its not a positive thing to be gay or that it makes a guy less of a man.

Does it mean I hate gay people? NO. Would I call a gay person gay? NO. Why state the obvious like that? That's dumb. This would be like saying "OH well you're white" Yeah? So? Unless its a bad thing to you then theirs no reason to feel oppressed. I wouldn't care if someone said "Oh well you're black" Yeah, I'm proud to be black. That's not the same as saying "Oh well you're black so you steal stuff and are dishonest". So stop trying to compare the two. Even if you make a racial joke to someone, it is different if they know you are joking. But if that's how you really honestly feel and its not a joke the person is within their rights to get offended.

I know people choose to be gay. But that's irrelevant. That's a whole other debate. I'm not going to condemn every person who says "you fag" as hating gay people. Just because I can't agree with you doesn't mean I hate you and it doesn't mean I think you are dishonest or whatever. That one choice doesn't make you the same as every other gay person. OK? Geez. What's next? Attacked by the PC police cuz someone makes a joke about fat people? I don't doubt that some gay people are tortured. Am I the torturer? I'm pretty sure, as in I belive, that people are born a certain way. You are given a gift, you are born gay, you are born something else, whatever, but its who you are. You dont chose any of that.

Colloquialisms can still be etymologically racist/sexist... and other bad ists and isms, in most cases you just let it go, ie handicapped used to be a very derogatory term or most languages are sexist yet that doesnt mean that people mean to be sexist or hate on the handicapped when they use certain words, but if you are trying to make a kind of post in which you frown opun bad -ism's it isnt very tactful to say "gay cowards".

LOL. So in other words because they were mentioned in the same paragraph you drew YOUR OWN conclusion. Each is a different group. The only relationship they have TO ME is that they are all BAD CHOICES. Now... Are you really going to take an issue with my beliefs and opinions to control what I say? Because I can make that debate too. Actually, the bible also mentions homosexuals in the very same breath as "sheep fuckers" (your words, not mine). So if I'm wrong for doing that then the bible is too. Yet again I say anything beyond gay ppl are not a race is a LARGER DEBATE out of the context of THIS thread.

Now if you want a debate between bible believers and homosexuals we can go to another forum. For now all you need to know is that we're I'm talking about racists here, not homosexuals. Gay, as I used it, was a figure of speech and couldn't be anything more than that unless I actually believed Trancos is a homosexual. And that would be dishonest, lending more credibility to him trying to say that black ppl are dishonest. All those words are put in for emphasis. Using gay as the choice word for emphasis does imply something. Unless you're meaning Happy which I doubt.

And yeah, Neo, I suppose we're in the era where saying 'gay' is like the 1970s where saying nigger was the modern day colloquialism. Gay people, you just have to wait your time I guess.

And choosing to be gay is the answer of an uninformed public. It can be argued either way but I'm pretty sure the people who just say "Oh, they choose to live that way and be persecuted and have to hide their lifestyle." In the day of A&E, I'd think some people would be a bit more educated on the Nature argument rather than the Nuture argument. I don't think I stood up one day and said "Today I want to be straight". It kind of just turned out that way.

But yes, people will be racist in the game. Unless people can be accountable, they'll do whatever the damn hell they feel like it. I've been in many parties where people make racist remarks against chinese people and hell if they know I'm chinese.

Or how about the Japanese hating on the North American people? But that's not being racist because we all choose to be North American right? So that can't be racism... or us hating on the Japanese people because... they speak japanese. Those could be white people over there typing in Japanese. What about when people use the term, "Oh that Jap player doesn't want to party" . That seems pretty racist to me but some other people don't think it is. People will draw their conclusions however they want and will do so even without any basis or on the one bad encounter they have.

Plain and simple. It's unfair but what can you do? You can't control people's will to think and act on the internet. Not like you can call being MPK'd by someone because you're black/yellow/white/blue/red/ a hate crime. Well, you can, but there are no internet laws to enforce.
