Another War?

I say we carpet bomb and destroy the entire country. Kill everyone, and start over. Dead people aren't much of a threat to our lives, now are they? If you're worried about the innocent people that would die too, then stfu and get over it. In the end, it's the only way to be safe from the radical and irrational views that islam forces upon it's people. Iran, Iraq, shit the whole middle east is a sesspool of hate, death, and crime. Eliminate the middle east and N. Korea and you have yourself a much safer world. All it takes it the push of a couple buttons and a good use to our tax money that's already invested in the weapons necessary to kill them all.

Before you flame me: Yes, that is Genocide. But as a culture, they've demonstrated that they're main will is to slay their enemies. In this modern world that is unacceptable, and it's better to kill than be killed.

Sure, wipe the Middle East out so Red China can move in and become an even bigger threat.

There's always a bigger fish.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't think this is what's been brewing all along - ever since we got back into Iraq in the first place. I'd like to preface what I'm about to say with this qualifier - this is what I think; purely my opinion.

As far as the whole conversation of ideologies go, I'd like to pare it down a bit more. In short:

Regardless of the sound-byte-friendly title, what we are currently waging is not a "War on Terror." Terrorism is a tactic, one that has been used by guerilla-style fighters the world over, us included(unless you can think of something else to call a bunch of guys dressing up as "injuns" and destroying a shipment of British tea.) What we are at war with is the mindset that has produced these particular terrorists.

Here's the heart of the issue to me - we're at war with an opposing ideology, an ideology that has demonstrated a gross lack of tolerance. By that, I mean that I honestly don't care whether we in the process of waging it provide someone with an opportunity for freedom or not. If they really want it, they should get out there and fight for it just like people around the world have been doing for the past two or three centuries. This war should be (and I believe it might actually be) about drawing a line in the sand between cultures of tolerance and acceptance versus cultures of intolerance and xenophobia.

I know many of you have seen 300. I honestly don't know when Frank Miller scripted it, how loyal the screenplay is to the graphic novel, etc., but I do know this - statements can be made regardless of whether the author intended them or not. There was a line in that movie that summed up the current world stage more succinctly than ever I could:

"We stand here defending logic and reason against the forces of tyranny and mysticism."

And if that's not what this is all about, it damn well should be.

thats stupid

not neccesarily(sp? howthefuckisthatwordspelled?) Stupid Ami. Horrible yes. Inhuman yes. But does it work? Yes. Killing everyone that might be considered a threat works far better than any politics can. Of course its horrible and all that stuff, but honestly it works. If we are afraid of Radical Islamics, instead of weeding them out, kill all the Muslims. That would solve that problem, althouht more will pop up. Yeah Genocide is horrible and in no way do I condone it, but if it came down to it for me: America or one small muslim nation, bomb them. :/
Im not that worried about China. Yes they are considered the second superpower behind America and all that, but if we went head to head in a full scale war, China has no way of winning againts everything the US has. Their submarines are ancient(from what I have read and see) and their military in all isnt that much over North Koreas in terms of structure and power. Yeah they are alot and big, but militarily rihgt noe they dont pose a huge threat.

They look @ us the same way, we r a threat to them thats why they hate western people, and like u said killing ppl will only end up in bigger conlicts.

If the US decided to obliterate the middle east the world would have its supply of Glass secured until at least 2087.

See that? Aither's my kinda guy; looking at the glass as though it's half full!

I don't want to say I believe in genocide, because I know that it is an absolutely terrible thing. Simple fact is that it is the only way you can solve the problem that we have in the middle east. Bush led the UN into a trap and now they're stuck in a corner. So long as the methods, cultures, and beliefs of islam tell their people to kill infidels and that they will go to heaven if they give their life to kill their enemies... Well, we'll constantly have a growing populace in the middle east of muslim monsters ready to take down the modern world as we know it. Not to mention that they're incapable of thinking on the larger scale of what they may do to the world itself in their fight. The earth can not handle too many more nuclear warheads without depleting the o-zone. Sometimes, for a group to do the greater good they must commit an act of atrocious evil. In the UN's shoe's, I'd have already taken them down. Threaten us with nuke's? Guess what, air strikes down your throat. Can't push the red button for the nukes if you're dead. Suddenly, the world is a safer place because someone was willing to dirty their hands.

I have no idea but this thread reminds me of underage russian prostitutes...on topic, wars suck. ; ;

Nuclear energy doesnt degrade the o-zone layer if that is what you are saying. Its the cleanest way to produce energy in this world without damaging our enviorment.
He's talking about fallout, the environmental repercussions of "taking the easy way out" when it comes to winning wars.

Exactly. Don't be the lolnaivefrenchman that believes Iran has nuclear energy and does not have nuclear warheads. That makes me laugh

PS: Yes, I dislike france because the majority of their populace hates America. News flash: We gave you your country back. Twice.

In all fairness, they gave us ours in the first place.

lolhistory.

I have to wonder when the last time the United States invaded a Middle Eastern nation (or a attacked a city, etc) without provocation.

To put that into context.

The first Gulf War was a United Nations war. Iraq invaded Kuwait and the UN said go back, Saddam, and he said no. So, while US dominated, it was a coalition (of mostly Europe and the US). And they stopped when they pushed Iraqis out of Kuwait. So no, that war does not and should not count as a US invasion without provocation, IMO.

Afghanistan (and Iraq, rightly or wrongly) is/are the result of 9/11. If 9/11 didn't happen, the US wouldn't have bombed the crap out of those two nations. Maybe 9/11 happened because of the first Gulf War (when the US bombed the crap out of Iraq), but ultimately, they are retaliation (and a bit of preventativeness) for an act.

Possibly you could say that the US backing of the Taliban in the Afghan-Soviet war was US meddling (it was), but hell, we backed they guys that WON, who were defending their nation. And of course we backed Saddam vs Iran (after Iran went all kidnappy on us in the late 70's), but both of those were, sadly, just sideshows of the US vs the USSR. Doesn't make it right or wrong, but in neither instance did we actually attack a Middle Eastern nation, and in one we saved one from being taken over by the Soviets (only to allow them to be "taken over" by the Taliban...I'm not sure which would have been worse).

No, the Radical Muslims hate us because we don't hate Israel. That's what it comes down to, ultimately. It doesn't help that they are still in the "convert or die" mentality in their "peaceful" religion's development (a phase that Christianity surely did go through, but is past it, or at least was before 2001 for sure - hell, most Westerners who the Muslims probably think of as Christians aren't really Christians).

Utlimately it's the Israel issue, and the newer religion issue. Judaism is older than Christinaity (and had it's share of violence before the Romans showed up), and Christianity is older than Islam. Both Judaism and Christianity have matured past the 'convert or die' stage, while Islam hasn't. And, fundmentally (for reasons I'm not all that clear on, to be honest), the Muslims hate the Jews. And the Christians, generally, do NOT (any longer) hate the Jews.

The fact that Israel was created by UN mandate, not US mandate, and the fact that Africa and the Middle East were old colonial holdings of the UK, not the US, really means that all the fucked up problems that led to Israel being created in the 1940's/50's weren't at all the fault of the US, who had done very little, internationally, before WWI and WWII (and were late entering each as we were, basically, isolationists).

I just hate it when people say (or imply) that the US had this coming. And so I tend to at least partially agree (however horrid and immoral it would be to actually do it) that the only answer to the whole region's problems is to carpet bomb the whole area, including Israel. Just get rid of both sides of the argument at the same time. I know that's not the way things should, or will, happen, but it would be the way to come the closest to getting rid of the problem (albeit it would create all new ones).

Both Judaism and Christianity have matured past the 'convert or die' stage, while Islam hasn't.

No No No No No! There is nowhere in the Quuran (sp?) that mentions killing people if they dont convert. One of the main teachings of Islam is to get on with people regardless or race/religion etc. It also teaches to live within other religions (eg. Living peacefully in Western societies). As with any belief be it religious or political or anything else for that matter, you have fundamentalists who due to their retardedness decide to distort what their "so called" beliefs mean.

I like how you called them wankers :-D

About the only thing you got right was the UN creating Israel.

Are you one of the people that believe all White House press releases? If so you're an idiot. There have been reports that have said there are no ties to Iraq to 9/11. Stop fapping your mouth and actually read news online.

Sharpe said it before with the Quran not wanting people to kill and people living in harmony. Wanna know why? WE have the SAME FUCKING GOD. Judaism, Islamic, and Christianity share the same deity. I had to say it twice for emphasis. The problem with Middle-eastern nations is only about 1/3 of them can actually read and have an education. Otherwise most of the peoples are easily influenced. Watch let's take a basic passage: God says Thou shall not kill. With a few edits I can go... (Dramatic suspense) God says Thou shall ... kill. Amazing isn't? That is what basically happens and you get the martyrs who think they'll get 72 virgins, come on where would one find 72 virgins?

Also 9/11 wasn't the first attempt of Al Qaeda trying to attack the WTC. I believe it was 1991 when there was bombs set off in the underground parking garages of the WTC buildings and they found out that Osama Bin Laden was connected to those. Didn't Bill Clinton in 1998 do air-raid to Baghdad for some reason?

The U.S. backed so many of those countries because they were fighting against communism. That is the only reason the U.S. backed any of those nations. What did we do after they gained their independence? We left them to themselves to figure it out. That is why they don't like us. WE fucked them over and left them to get dictator to rule them so the country could work a certain extent. Once again THAT is why they don't like us.

Carpet bomb Israel over what? They let the Palestinians get the city. Are they still fighting? Yes because it will be like that because that is the holy city to Hebrew people. All I get from your post is intolerance of Jews. Just like Cartmen blame it on the Jews.

Only because they were originally kicked out by the British.

But, they still owe us.

They still owe us for 'Nam. They held Vietnam and left when they couldn't handle the pressure of the fighting from the North.

Well they are, it's pretty obvious our boys and girl were not in Iranian waters.

I know I just like the word Wanker. It's funny, or maybe it's because I haven't slept because of Insomnia. Ok no more PC+1 for me right now.. lol Wanker. That is so neat that you don't call them fuckers. I think that's the equivalent.
